I purchased a used 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited from Dennis Dillon. Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience. Customer service was terrible. After they had my money, communication essentially stopped. I was told the Jeep came with a 3-month/3,000-mile warranty, but when I tried to use it they would not honor it. Less than a week after purchase, the check engine light came on due to a stuck thermostat. They wanted to charge me $400 to $500 for a repair that involves replacing an approximately $30 part. I have called, texted and visited the Customer Service Team, all with no communication back. I do not recommend this dealership, and I will not purchase from them again. read more

Last month I brought my car in for my paid maintenance. I had brought my car in the 6months before and was sent a video of recommended additional services. This consisted of changing filters. I declined as I intended to just buy and replace them myself. When my nephew helped me he pulled up a video of how to replace the cabin filter. It required tools he did not have. It appeared to be somewhat more difficult than anticipated. So I went again for the scheduled maintenance. I asked for the filter to be replaced. I was then told it would cost an additional $ 60.00 for labor. I again declined but asked how could I been shown a video on my previous visit of the condition of that filter but now needed labor cost. So I did send a review detailing what happened. I got a call saying management would review the issue and get back to me. That never happened. So I sent another email and was told air filters were not part of my maintenance agreement. I acknowledged this and explained it was confusing that I was previously shown a video of the condition of the filter. The response was that the cost of the filter was $ 60.00. This was just a blatant lie to just not deal with the situation. read more

I called regarding an issue with my Jeep. They got the part I needed by the next day and scheduled me for the day after. In the meantime, my check engine light came on, so when I got there I let them know. They checked it for me, and were able to fix the issue while I waited, saving me from a potentially very bad failure. From the initial phone call, and throughout my experience with Dennis Dillon, everyone was so courteous and accommodating! I was very pleased with everything, even the price. I wish I could give less than zero stars. I purchased a used 2021 Ram from Dennis Dillon Ram. The night I purchased the truck I asked that the truck be detailed, fueled up, and the def tank be filled and was assured that they would get it done while I was signing papers. After signing the papers and exited the building I got in my new truck to see that it was filthy, the fuel gauge was still on empty as well as the def tank. I tried to get back into the building but they had locked the doors and shut down for the night. My first stop in my new truck would be the fuel station to buy def fluid and diesel. On my drive home I passed a semi on the highway and a code came up on the dash that my air filter needed service. The next day after work I got to work on my new truck. I pulled the air filter and it was caked in mud and had mushrooms growing out of it. (so much for their 120 point inspection). I called and was told that they would "Make it right". I drove the hour and a half back to the dealership after replacing the filter to have them do the inspection again and explained my frustration. little did i know that this was the first of nine trips to the famed Dennis Dillon service department. Nothing was ever fixed. So I offered to purchase a brand new truck and turn this lemon back over to them. I was told that the trade in value of the truck wasn't worth what I had just paid for it and that they couldn't do the deal. John doesn't belong in service, maybe he'd be better in parts. He has not had the proper training to be a service writer, he couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel. Twice I was promised a call same day by 2pm with an update about my Jeep. 3 days later, I finally get a call. I was unavailable to answer, I thought he'd leave a voicemail, but NO. So after my appointment, I call him back. I get his voicemail. I leave him a message and you guessed it, no return call. An hour passes, I call back. Someone actually hunted him down for me. My Jeep was ready. I asked what was actually wrong with it and what was fixed. He mumbled something and told me my Jeep was ready. He had no time to talk to a customer, I just got.., "your Jeep is ready." Seriously?!? There is a lot of arrogance in that shop. Customer service here is an ancient way of doing business it seems. I've been to many dealerships that treat you like a King, they honestly strive to make you happy. Dennis Dillon Jeep does the absolute least possible. I'm not really sure how they stay in business. Absolutely wouldn't recommend them to fix anything with your vehicles. We had our truck brought in for a recall and we wanted the recall fixed and hoped it would fix the truck. They ran a diagnostic and said there were other things wrong with the truck. But we did not ask them to do that. Only to fix the recall. We went to pick up the truck and they charge me a $200+ diagnostic fee. When again, we DID NOT ASK FOR THAT. Also, before running the diagnostic they should have called and asked if we wanted that done. Oh and it would be $200. The quote to fix the "other problems" was $3,000 for just labor. AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. And the girl at the desk was absolutely rude and put it in stone we will never do business with them again. read more

They were able to give us a better price for the car than what it was listed for but they didn't clean what they said would get cleaned when they detailed the car and they also gave the temporary tag to the detailing guy and he didn't put the temporary tag on so I drove around for two days and all 5 and a half hours home to Portland without a temp tag or plate. Also, they are a no-dicker type sales outlet and they like to get you as many discounts as possible toward your purchase. My first experience was buying a business vehicle and my second was for a personal vehicle. On the latest visit, we had done a bunch of research before we drove up and had our vehicle already picked out. We walked into the showroom and were instantly greeted by a friendly sales person who jumped right in and helped us with our purchase. We test drove the vehicle and it was exactly what we were looking for so we went straight to the table to talk about our trade in. They didn't exactly give us what we thought our trade was worth, but it was within a reasonable deviation. The final step was to sign the papers and get the keys. The only negative we experienced was that they slipped an extra insurance item into the sale contract that we felt we didn't need and wished we would have noticed it and rejected it before signing off on all the documents. If you decide to buy here, leave youself 4-5 hours of your day to make it happen. Avoid this place at all cost. They have no concern about people or how to keep customers after the contracts are signed. Just purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie and left the dealership in disgust. This place is so cheap, they don't even offer you're first oil change for free. Had to beg for a $5.00 hat. Figured a $25 dollar oil change would be a good investment to get a customer back for a service at a later time. Also screwed me with a $299.00 fee for theft detergent stickers stuck all over my new truck. This was allegedly to stop people from stealing my truck and selling the parts. LoL what a joke. All they have to do is take off the 50 stickers. Was then advised by parts that they are unable to get a speedometer calibration tool for the new trucks. He also confirmed the 2 new 2019 Ram 1500's on there showroom lot with fancy Mopar lifts and bigger tires didn't have their speedometers calibrated. This would mean they are selling vehicles to their valued customers and letting them take them onto the public roadway not properly equipped with WORKING speedometers. Hmm wonder if they are paying for the speeding ticket? Needless to say, I would agree with several reviews of this dealership that they don't care about customer service after you leave the lot and will work you over with hidden fee's every time they get a chance. They called me to inquire about my experience and the lady with the initial friendly attitude went all rogue when I told her my opinion. She then told me she would notify upper management and then had the nerve to hangup on me without saying goodby after I told her to have a good afternoon. Shows that it's not just on the sales floor. You would like to make sure that the car is not a prior lemon or f up car. I kindly asked if someone can drop off the car for pre-purchase inspection, and I will pay for everything. The shop located in Boise which is about 25 mins driving from their dealership. They said nope, we don't have time for that and we will not do it. Back to my story. I ended up buying a 2012 Porsche Cayenne from them on January 31st. Did a homework and read all reviews thinking to myself that this is going to be a hassle free purchase. Oh man, I was wrong. I flew from California to check out the car and test drove it. Everything turn out to fine until we did the credit application. I know my credit score is good and they offered me 6.6%... ( Are you kidding me?) I know this is a sales pitch and I should have done the preapprove from my local bank. So I go ahead and tried applying for the loan right on there waiting room and got approved for 3.5%. Guess what, they won't match it. The bald guy sitting right behind the computer was acting like a douche knowing that I was going use my loan and he won't let me. He said we need to wait until the check from the bank come in, and you would need to stay in town for at least 2 days, are you willing to do that? He asked me. So I had to accept that 6.6% APR and I was going to come back to LA and refinance the car. Everything got set and I'm ready to leave that stealership. Went in the finance room and they ended up giving me 3.5% rate by asking me what APR would you like to get (I was like...uh wtf). I told the finance guy I want 3.5% and he said there you go, I'll give you 3.5%. So I'm secured with 3.5% After that it's time for extended warranty I know I'm buying a Porsche and I need a warranty on it for sure, So I did buy an extended warranty that cost me $4,300 (STUPID ME) I forgot to read the review on this warranty company. They are totally junk! So finally after 5 hours at the stealership, I was on my way to LA! 1,000 miles trip is quiet rough for this Porsche. After we drove it for an hour, I noticed that the car has sluggish acceleration and I knew it has to be a transfer case. The car acted like misfire and it won't accelerate. This didn't show on the test drive, otherwise I won't be taking this car home. Made it back to LA and took it in DTLA Porsche right away. They stated that they need to replace the transfer case because the car has bad transfer case and the bill came out over $5,000. Porsche dealership has been trying to contacted the extended warranty company that I purchased and they waited 9 days until the warranty company sent someone out for inspection. Of course they denied it because it is preexisting condition. (WTF??!!) Why would I buy this extended warranty then. So I had to take the car back home with a bad transfer case. Next day I got a call from Amanda Stewart (customer care representative from Dennis Dillon Auto group) asking on how was your purchase. I told her my story... and she said she will contact me back as soon as possible........ and guess what she never call me back. I guess this is how DENNIS DILLON do a business. As of now, I sent the form trying to cancel the extended warranty and it will take 6-8 weeks to get back credit to my loan. Such a hassle to cancel this warranty, and it's only take 5 mins to buy this and 2 months to cancel it. The car still has bad transfer case as of now. I don't know what to do. No trade, Straight purchase and after negotiating a price for a brand new RV, they changed pricing on me several times. Needless to say, I'm not gonna spend much time on this review because they're not worth it. If you purchase from this dealership, you're asking for a big let down. After my last review, as you can see I still buy only FCA Vehicles because FCA administration got involved and has made my buying made easy without any dealerships involvement and pricing set only to my expectations. I was interested in trading a vehicle straight across, a 2017 Grand Cherokee for a 2012 Wrangler. The original trade in allowance was $ 27140, but it wasn't enough to cover the entire cost of the Wrangler. No problem. I took my keys then went home. Two weeks later, the price on the Wrangler dropped enough to allow for the deal to continue. After making sure that the original trade allowance would be honored, multiple times, we began the process. The salesmen, he was wonderful by the way, even went so far as to check with the manager that the original offer for my vehicle would be honored. who of course said yes. I went in to make the deal and at the end, the original trade in allowance was not going to be honored because of a mistake on their end. I grabbed my keys and went home. In short, on July 1, 2022, they failed to honor the promises they made many times, both verbally and in writing. I understand a mistake being made, but it should have been caught before I came in to have time wasted again. The total experience makes me feel that Dennis Dillon Jeep in Caldwell is under unethical management and they do not do what they intimate or promise. I will unfortunately no longer deal with them due to this even for warranty work on my vehicle. I bought a power wagon from these guys back in the spring. It was your average run of the mill deal. I was coming from out of state so I wanted to have our financing and everything in order, they told me to just head over now and that I was approved. I wasn't concerned about being approved, I asked what my rate was. They said they couldn't tell me it but they could tell me what my monthly payment was. I again said that I wasn't interested in driving 5 hours to come get this truck without knowing what I was going to be signing up for. Eventually they called back with the information and I drove out. When I got there it was your standard purchasing experience. A bunch of people smiling and shaking hands, telling you how great your vehicle will be and yudda yudda. I do remember the finance guy saying that somebody was in late the night before and it tends to "piss them off", but then he followed it up with they're willing to do whatever is needed. So, not classy, but I also don't have to hang out with the guy so I don't care how he wants to present himself. Just print the papers and tell me where to sign and I'm on my way back home. Got the truck home, and these trucks come stock with a winch in the front bumper. Got a text 2 days later asking how everything was and I needed anything. I responded back saying "Actually, do you know where the controller for the winch might be?". Its a remote that plugs into the front. Crickets, never heard back from them again. Do not buy a used car from this place, I bought a used car and drove it for 23 days and now it's still in the shop trying to get fixed, adding a additional $5,000 to the vehicle and still won't run. This place will not work with you, or call you back. I wouldn't take a free water from this place for the possibility of a bill coming to you for it. Go anywhere else.
