I have worked with Dr. Kinnane on and off since the mid-90's when I was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma. The regular MD's suggested everything from heavy medication to surgery to a wait and see approach. I was a teenager and was scared of these options. Dr. Kinnane, with the combination of herbs and acupuncture and a friendly approach, made the tumor completely go away. At one of my follow up appointments, my MD said that if she didn't have the original scans to compare, she wouldn't know there had ever been a tumor in the first place. I came to Dr. Dennis after being denied surgery for my fibroids. The pain was unbearable, sleeping became difficult which leas to low energy levels. I wrote a 5 star review for Dennis several years ago but I'd thought I would take the time to write an "updated" review for 2022 as over the nearly 10 years I have been been using Dr. Dennis as my doctor I couldn't be happier. Being in the holistic world myself, I know nearly ever acupuncturist, and Chinese herbalist doctor in Orange and LA Counties. I will say with confidence. Dr. Kinnane is by far the most caring and knowledgable doctor. His office has the largest holistic Chinese herbal pharmacy I have seen.. His herb prices are reasonable compared to other offices that charge an arm and a leg. I feel blessed that Dennis has seen that I'm always prepared for weather changes, Covid scare etc. In 10 years I have not had one serious flu, bronchitis, only minor imbalances. I chose not be vaccinated, and just continued with my plant based organic diet, my yoga and breath recommendations from Dennis, and monthly acupuncture and cupping. During the whole 2 year Covid scare.. I was perfectly healthy.. I find it interesting that Dennis never got sick even treating many Covid cases... while some of my Western Medical doctor friends had many sick patients, some in the hospital or got sick themself. If I have learned a lot about my own body makeup, and how stress, weather changes can cause imbalances. So now I feel very empowered myself in my health and well being. Since November 2019, I have been so sick, miserable, losing weight and almost daily I was unable to get moving because of stomach pain and either had constipation or diarrhea. I did not stay for treatment so I cannot comment on his acupuncture skills, however... I went into the office wearing a mask, as is required by CA law at the time. Neither he, nor his assistant were wearing masks. He told me that I could leave mine on or take it off, saying that there was new information just out saying that asymptomatic carriers can't spread Covid. (There is not) Before asking me anything about myself he went on for 20 minutes about the US government over-reaction to covid, that it's no worse than a cold. He said that Japan had lower mortality because of their medicine and started to put down Western medicine. I have seen how Western medicine can save lives and think of Eastern medicine as an equal adjunct. At this point I realized that we were not on the same page and left. If you go - beware of his prejudice about medicine. You probably shouldn't go until there is a covid-vaccine. read more

I wanted to let everyone know how excellent Dr. Kinnane is. I have been taking Dyazide for high blood pressure for about a year. I have known that this is not healthy for my kidneys but I wasn't sure what else to take. So, I decided to give Dr. Kinnane a chance to work on me. He gave me some tea pills to take in place of Dyazide and also gave me a powdered herbal mixture to help with organ functioning. I felt better within a few days, I am much clearer and happy that I am not ingesting something that is harmful to my body. I have been receiving acupuncture treatments and oriental herbs from Dennis and have found the results to be very positive. I have seen him off and on for over 20 years to be treated for various ailments from colds to diabetes. He has always been genuinely concerned about my health and often modifies my herbal formulas to improve their effect. He is also a licensed pharmacist and uses that expertise to advise me about potential side effects or incompatible combinations. He recently advised me on some eye drops I was taking for glaucoma, noting that the drops could be affecting my heart in a negative manner. He offers suggestions that are readily available to treat ailments, such as fresh pineapple to help cut down on phlegm from a cold/flu. I have been a patient of Dr. Dennis Kinnane for several years. I went to him on the recommendation of a friend and I am thankful that I did so. He has helped me with a number of medical issues when no one else was able to offer me solutions. I recall on one occasion, I consulted an alternative health practitioner who attempted to "detox" my body.
