Food was sub-par. Looking at the past reviews, there has been no consistency over time. Like... these dishes don't look like the pictures! Hash Browns weren't crispy, heat probably set to high just to "sear" one side but the inside was just steamed or raw potato. The photo I inserted does not do it justice to show how small the portions were on these dishes. Not sure if this was all because my group ordered the "build your own..." but I would just get the preset breakfasts if I visited next time- like the All-American Slam which I forgot to get a photo of. Service was fine. I wasn't able to get a name or anything but she did her job well. Just wished we were checked in on more since I wasn't sure which section of the diner she was assigned to that morning? Ambiance was fine, it looked pretty busy but didn't feel chaotic or anything. I must admit I didn't expect anything special at a Denneys and was pleasantly surprised. Even as busy as they were (and they were very busy, we were seated quickly and our server was bringing coffee shortly after. I ordered a senior plate with egg, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. My husband ordered country fried steak and eggs. Everything was well prepared with the pancakes perfectly cooked and very tasty with or without syrup. My husband was also happy with his steak stating he could enjoy the meat without it being overpowered by breading. Hash browns were well prepared with crispy outsides. 2.5 Parking is tough here. There are spots in front and, if full, have to go around the other side down an alley like area with parking on side. We came in this morning and found it swamped. I'm not sure if the hotel attached give free or discounted breakfasts but it seemed more than just locals. It was loud and crazy. It took a long time to be seated and never asked for drink orders. We sat for a while but decided to leave and take a chance somewhere else. I still appreciate Denny's kindness during the fires when we sat, ate and talked with fellow evacuees. I called to order for pickup and the call center person didn't seem to know what he was doing! He kept saying I couldn't have hash browns with the build your own breakfast, then he apologized and said I can have it back and forth, very confused he kept apologizing. It took no less than 15 minutes to take my order and when I went to pick it up it was ready (great) but the order was wrong, it had double hash browns, wrong kind of bread extra pancakes that I didn't order. I looked at the check and it had 5 added items at extra cost. Terrible!!! If they are going to taking orders from a call center train your people how to do proper order taking!! Came here and ordered the beyond Burger. Double checked with server Maricela to make sure I was getting the Beyond Burger. Eventually the burger arrives, and it is a beef burger, not the beyond burger. I inform Maricela about this, and she insists it is the Beyond burger. Eventually I am able to talk to someone else who says they will re cook what I actually ordered and bring me a beyond burger. It arrives, but there's still beef on my plate. Our server Maricela also did not bring any of the sauces she said she would, and the only napkin she brought I had to use to put the beef that i needed to pick off my plate in order to consume the meal. I don't know how difficult it is for Maricela to respect the fact I do not eat meat, or why she was incredibly rude the entire time, but this was honestly the worst restaurant experience I have had in the last 5 years. read more

Went to Denny's for my birthday breakfast. We go every year. They have changed their approach and menu. We had to have a qr code on an app on our iPhone. It took a while to get it set up which was frustrating. Then you could only order the original Grand Slam not the build your own. My husband always orders the senior turkey sandwich but it is no longer on the menu. So he ordered some other turkey sandwich. It was grilled on the griddle (greasy), had a teenie piece of tomato and no other vegetables. Three slices of turkey. Too much grilled cheese. And some bacon. It was big, greasy and filling but very uninteresting. He ordered fruit cup instead of fries or rings. They charged extra which we argued about (not told and never did before). My friend's son called her and wanted to go to Denny's for a late breakfast so we postponed our mallwalk and headed over here this morning. We were seated right away and got excellent service the entire time we were here. I was going to get a grilled cheese until I saw the breakfast skillet with Prime Rib on it. Hmmm, sounded good for $8.99. I had a 20% off your entire meal coupon I got from my motel in AZ and gave it to her since she was getting the bill--it gave us over $6 off! The sizzling plate came with a not-too-large (just right for me) fluffy scrambled eggs folded over perfectly good hash browns (I like mine cooked a little longer so they are brown and crunchy), a good-sized pile of grilled bell peppers and onions, a respectable amount of well-done prime rib, and sides of salsa, sour cream, and flour tortillas. The meat was so moist and tender I could easily cut it with my fork, never needed my knife. The amount was perfect, I was hungry and ate every bite. The flavor and quality were right on. Denny's is always a favorite with my family and this location is no exception good service good food with a friendly atmosphere although parking is a bit cramped due to the hotel being right next door. It can get a little noisy in the evenings due to the Amigo rooms music but its not too loud it disturbs the meal you can just hear that it's there. This is the Denny's you can see driving from the 8 freeway, a sure stop for my family when we travel from San Diego to Arizona or it's open late if you just happen to be crusing around in El Centro and you have the munchies. My service has been pretty prompt and the place is neat and clean. A good selection of pretty good food you can order. I dig getting the grand slam or their fries are ok, but with a side of their ranch dressing it makes them super awesome.
