I was carrying about 6-7 items which isn't light and I wasn't asked if I wanted a dressing room at all. When I visit American Dream Mall's location, I'm always asked if I'd like a dressing room or if I need help with anything. I tried everything on then took pictures of what I liked and decided to go support a store's sales with better customer service -- American Dream Mall. Their prices are pretty high, but I've been content with the quality of clothes that last more than a year or a few washes. Nowadays a lot of clothes only lasts a few washes before it starts pilling, stretching, shrinking or discoloring- I've had good experiences with Torrid's clothing. Although high in price, sales are great.

Then I received an email confirmation that the order was being processed. That was 7/21. The status never changed. I place a call to customer service last week and spoke with someone utterly incompetent. Today I spoke with a competent customer service person but the item is NO LONGER IN STOCK. What? I never received any notification from Chico's and it's been 21 days! Apparently, no one pulled the order and the item and the order disappeared. And there is no manager-level person to speak with for 24-48 hours. I also no longer like shopping in the stores for the reasons expressed in other reviews - I feel like I'm bothering the staff. Seems like they are solely stock clerks and no longer familiar with the inventory nor much help to customers

Generally they're gathered around the sales desk, clucking about someone else's wayward daughter or Jennifer Aniston's latest boyfriend... waaay too busy to acknowledge your presence. I'm not a huge Chico's fan to begin with, although I'm right in their zip code... middle-aged and a little plump. Some of the jewelry is interesting, and once or twice a year I actually find a shirt that's not sized to fit John Goodman. Most of the stuff is so "Here's some pull-on pants and garish tops to disguise your lack of waist" but it only draws attention to the problem. If you have that problem. Which I don't. Really. I don't. Everything is so very shiny and synthetic, in hideous animal prints (so edgy!) and since one trend is never enough, they usually throw in handfuls of sparkly rhinestones or "fun" beading on top of it. Their "unique" sizing system (1, 2, 3, 4) is just stupid...what's wrong with S,M,L,XL? Or even Tall, Grande and Venti? I've never actually bought anything in the Woodcliff Lake store. First of all, giraffe-print chiffon scarves went out in the '80's. And secondly, I don't want any of those gossiping gals to get a penny of commission from me. If you really want a 'Chico's kind of day' I recommend the much smaller Westwood store. It's hard to navigate (there are racks and tables everywhere) but the saleswomen are friendly and helpful. The sales are great at either store. It's definitely the place to go if you're looking for that special rayon t-shirt with a silk-screened panda on it. (Rhinestone eyes!)

I have no idea what I did to offend her. I've been coming to this location for two years and have never experienced anything like this. It made me feel very unhappy and uncomfortable. She even falsely accused me of returning items "too often." I must strongly disagree with this. When the store doesn't have certain items, your own employees special-order them for me. Sometimes they accidentally order extras, and they tell me to return the additional items. Yet this manager claims that I "love to return things," which is completely untrue. On top of that, she even told me that I "stayed in the store too long." If I don't take my time trying on clothes and checking whether something fits, or learning about the functions of the products, how could I possibly feel confident spending so much money? LL Bean products are not cheap. Is this something a manager should be saying? This feels like discrimination and an abuse of authority. At this point, it honestly feels like a shame to spend money in this store -- especially when I spent so much today -- only to be treated this way. You really need to be careful with this new manager. Her attitude is terrible, and she treats people differently. I am an older customer, and most LL Bean shoppers are also older adults. No one wants to spend a lot of money just to be treated disrespectfully. I've visited many LL Bean stores and have never had such an unpleasant experience. I needed functional clothing that I wouldn't breakdown over time. In other words, I didn't want the cheap crap. Sooooo, fast forward through the extremely helpful staff, great customer experience etc. I am at the gym 4 to 5 days a week and not doing wimpy workouts (in other words, I am not there looking to pick up my future husband and I am not staring at my cell phone). The amount of sweat I produce could fill a small bathtub. This is where the Athleta clothes come in. After buying my first two pairs of workout pants, I couldn't wait to go back and buy more. I have washed them hundreds of times and they still look and feel as good as new. Now, most of my clothes come from there. They are my favorite clothes for work or play. I have an unbelievable experience every time I walk through the doors. If you are a strong, athletic woman like me, I don't know how you can go anywhere else! During my most recent trip, one of the associates, Delia, was incredibly rude and spoke to me in a condescending way throughout my time in the store. It made what is usually an enjoyable shopping experience feel very uncomfortable. That said, I do want to recognize Mary, who was also working at the time. She is kind, patient, and genuinely helpful, and she reminded me of the level of customer service I've come to expect from this location. I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident, as I've always enjoyed shopping here and would love to continue doing so.
