I am all for breakfast all day, especially those skillet ones. After a long day food is almost universally good. Finding the driveway to get to the restaurant, and the nearby Walmart store is a Lil complicated at night. Went with the French toast slam. Wrong choice, my over easy eggs were more like barely cooked overly runny eggs. 4 pieces of bacon I ate in about as many bites and the French toast was good but looked pre made. Got a coke too and walked out still hungry and $15 less to my name. I tipped the waitress $3 because she was nice and it wasn't her fault the egg chef can't flip eggs and Denny's bacon is bite sized. read more

Let me start off by saying that I'm a huge Denny's fan but I've been completely let down by this location. I called in to place an order to go tonight and after briefly talking with a lady, I was put on hold for 5 minutes. I figured they were getting slammed... it is Grants after all. (Not many options!) I decided to walk in and place my order to go. When I got there, the parking lot was completely empty. The lady at the front counter took my order and I waited 30 minutes for my meal of fish&chips. During my wait, the business picked up again and I noticed that the staff were very quick to sit people down but did not seem to be attending to their other duties. I watched my to go order sit on the counter for 10 minutes. When I got it, it was luke warm and the fish was soggy from sitting on the broccoli. I tried to eat it anyways when I got back to the hotel room but the waitress forgot to include ketchup for my fries. My advice.. management needs to reiterate that thing called customer service. I called in and knew what I wanted. It would have taken 30 seconds to take down my order over the phone. Instead, your waitress was more worried about getting people seated or doing what ever else she was doing. It looks like your staff are being over worked and you could seriously benefit from having a hostess. read more

Food was ok but the place is dirty, floors, hand rail was sticky, bathroom had dirt in corners of floor. You could see grease buildup on vent hood, a nasty looking banana peel laying out. We were hungry and tired so we are anyway. Food was ok. read more

Worst Denny's we've been to. We usually stop at Denny's when traveling so know what we're getting. Arrived about 1:30 pm on a Monday, two couples finishing up so should be fairly quick service. Seated promptly, waitress took order, we ordered two bowls of soup and a club sandwich to share, quick and easy right? Soup came out in about 5 minutes, "sandwich will be right out". Took our time with our soup, finally finished soup, still no sandwich. Finally get sandwich 20 minutes later, we asked for water refills, "be right back". Finished sandwich, gave up, went to counter to pay, found two waitresses chatting and filling salt shakers. Asked for check and what happened to waters? "Gee, I'm sorry ". Two waitresses, a busier, and a cook can't take care of two tables? read more

On 06/15/14 at 8:00 pm, I went to this Dennys. I was seated, given a lemonade which I later had to pay for. This place, however, flat out refused to serve me any food whatsoever, and I left empty handed. No explanation or anything, and it took over 45 minutes for anyone to come to my table and make any indication of Dennys new habit of turning down customers when they want to order food. I would certainly skip this place. They don't want your business, they will tell you to your face. They should have told me at the door they were not taking new guests instead of totally wasting my time. Only 3 tables had customers, so they were not busy at all. They just didn't want the hassle of yet a 4th table. I counted 4 employees (maybe 5). If you have to drive another 2 hours to go somewhere else, you will certainly be glad you did.******** ***********UPDATE!!************ On 06/16/14 I contacted Francis, the restaurant manager, by phone and she had me come in and have breakfast on the house. She apologized, and both the food and service were spectacular. Service was so great, I could see how she could have been a bit confused about the poor service the night before. I really believe Francis will get to the bottom of what happened last night and resolve it. A special shout out to the servers who worked together to make my return visit a great one. read more

Denny's is Denny's...right? Thats what we figured as we pulled in late on a Friday night. We had been on the road since early that morning, my cell phone battery was completely dead, and we were famished. After we sat down and I searched relentlessly for an available outlet to plug in my phone, our waitress offered to plug it in for me up at the register.....very cool. She was extremely nice and attentive and offered up many suggestions to the menu. I ordered the chick fried steak and my wife ordered a T-Bone. Again...a Denny's steak is a Denny's steak (you get what you pay for and don't expect much more...) Well....as I finished off the last few bites of salad, our dinner was promptly served to us. My Chicken fried was perfect (good crisp batter, tender and tasty meat on the inside). The T-Bone was INCREDIBLE. Cooked perfectly medium rare as requested and tender enough to cut with a fork! I spoke with the manager to compliment and he explained that instead of searing with a weight on top of the steak, he has instructed his cooks to take an extra minute or two and allow the steak to sit on the griddle and cook naturally. I told him that this was NOT a typical Denny's steak. (My poor wife only got about half after I continued to sample it! At the end of dinner, our waitress brought me my cellphone and our tab. Then we found out that she was a new employee having only started the day before......wow. Finally, to cap it off another customer sitting next to us spoke up and said he overheard my talk with the manager and he agreed wholeheartedly..in fact, this was his 2nd visit due to an enjoyable time he had previously 6 months earlier. Bottom line...if you have spent your entire day on Route 66 (40 ) and find yourself getting close to Grants...stick it out and make sure to have dinner here for an extremely tasty, pleasant, and memorable experience. read more

Worst customer service ever . Went in at 11:00pm on a Tuesday night and there was only 6 people in the place. Waited over 15 mins before saying something to a server and he responded that he wasn't our sever but he would get her. 5 mins later still no server so we walked out . I wouldn't go to this place if you want to eat anything to eat in a hurry. read more

Just ate here and was VERY disappointed. All of our food was cold. We ordered mozzarella sticks and the cheese was not melted at all. I also ordered a salad and the lettuce was extremely brown, I couldn't eat it at all. I gave 2 stars because the staff were pleasant and attentive. read more

I experienced it as barely adequate. My waitress did in fact try her best, but there was at least one other waitress and a manager-type that seemed to spend a lot of time lollygagging, while my waitress was handling all occupied tables (seven or eight at the time, and most newly arrived). The food was what one would expect. I had chicken fried steak that was okay. The breading was crap, but it was okay in flavor. There was plenty of country gravy to cover the sins of this dish. The fries were fine as were the mixed vegetables. Nothing gross, nothing revelatory. I couldn't help noticing, though, that the kitchen staff had trouble coughing up toast for the (evening) breakfast orders. I mean, like five times for two orders, the actually working waitress had to scold the kitchen for toast while I was there. read more

One of the worst dennys ever. It was slow so there shouldn't have not been horrible service. 6 waitresses passed our table and we had empty glasses and stacked plates. I wonder if they had heard about pre-bussing. The waitresses definitely need to be trained again. My waitress disappeared for 20 minutes after she dropped off our food. The bathrooms were disgusting. Last week I was traveling from Scottsdale Az to Denver by car and discovered that Denny's restaurants are seemingly ubiquitous. So instead of trying to dress up for dinner we would just get off the highway and find one. Scottsdale, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Pueblo, Co Springs, Denver, all good for omelets, salmon, salads & hamburgers, EXCEPT Grants New Mexico... The place was filthy! The doors, windows, floors, menus. There was dried ice cream that had run down a metal holder by the kitchen & many flies buzzed by. We were there around 4:00 pm on a Saturday and there was only one other table occupied. My waiter was Brendan ( he was sweet but needs some training) the 3 Latin waitresses were the only good thing about this place (friendly, helpful & busy). I mentioned this to Yolanda the m.o.d. who was just standing around talking & it seemed to "miff" her. I won't even start on the food!! I left a fifty % tip and left. read more

Stopped in on our way through town at 5am on 4/2/17. The place only had 3 guests and the restrooms were disgusting and looked like no one had cleaned them all night. I was going to order a hot chocolate until I saw the guy at the other table smelling his coffee and tell the waiter that the coffee smelled bad. One person from our party ordered the grand slam when it got to the table the pancakes looked super greasy, after that I walked out. When he finished he said the food was horrible. Looking forward to a great breakfast, but this time They were a miss. Ordered a Santa Fe skillet and the skillet was so hot it burnt the food before I could eat it. The whole mess just fused together like a burnt brick. Spoke to the manager on the way out and it turns out the normal cook was out. We stopped into the local Denny's last night, as we had seen the commercial for their new Hamburger Meals. Well if I were able to, I would rate it a negative 6! "After being seated and getting our beverages, we waited 37 minutes for anyone to come back and take our order . I ordered the new avocado burger meal with the bacon cheese tots, when it finally came, my burger had two tiny smears of avocado and the bun was burned black and hard! I complained immediately, to a shrug of her shoulders and then she walked away! My tots, all 5 of them were extremely oily and they didn't even make them with the cheese and bacon, just greasy tots! We complained at checkout that we should not be charged for the uneaten meal! Needless to say we did pay, not sure why , what has happened to service in today's world, or the customer always being correct?" Help us! This was horrific! The hostess was very nice, but the place very dirty. We ended up leaving after being seated at a very dirty table. It wasn't her fault, I just think the cleanliness standard isn't too high at this location. There was a swampy smell and dustpans of dirt sitting in corners for example. read more

My wife and I visited Dennys Diner on a Sunday evening. We both ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were still frozen and the spaghetti was cold. We told the server about the problem. She apologized and took our plates back and we told her we wanted new plates of food that were to be tested for complete cooking. When the new plates of spaghetti and meatballs arrived, the meatballs were still frozen. We ate the spaghetti because it was cooked but luke warm and we were hungry. We were compensated with a free coffee and desert and the meal was free. I caution you to avoid Dennys in Grants. read more

The manager Valerie was just awful to us. People table next to us complained about her also and said they would never go there again. She charged us incorrectly and I brought it to her attention and she refused to charge correctly. I confronted her again with a phone call later that evening we were so upset and she just hung up on me. I am making a complaint with corporate. If you want to have a nice place with nice service do not go to the Dennys grants New Mexico horrible horrible service by the manager Valerie. Unbelievably rude and nasty. read more
