Rig parked across the street at the DQ Dancing Eagle Truck Stop. Saw a poster on the wall this casino had a Diner and decided to check out their breakfast. The casino is kinda strict, doesn't allow photography which I feel really works against them considering we're in the age of TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels era, if your customers or patrons don't share the entertainment experience, there's really nothing else you can do to drive foot traffic. Organic growth comes from a feedback loop. Even a blue collared truck driver like me knows something bout marketing. But oh well. I had to put my phone away. And now, about this Great American Diner. Had I not seen the poster about this breakfast joint...I would have never known there was a diner nestled away in this village. Now that I've ordered the Pork Chops + Eggs Breakfast Platter........and at $8.99? Honestly, these are the best pork chops I've ever eaten on the road. They're packed with juice, a balanced amount of fat, the seasoning is a mix of rosemary, lime, salt, cracked pepper, garlic and oregano. And again for $8.99....wow, does this place no justice because it's empty on a Monday morning. So there it is, if you're ever on route 66, stop in here for the pork chops. Somehow the casino restaurant operators are running this place as either a loss leader (such as Costco's hotdogs), Or... Inflation doesn't exist on Indian Reservations.. read more

Outstanding! A friend had been there years ago and was craving a California Club with red chili and invited me to go. I had the best Indian Taco! Shredded beef, beans, red chili, lettuce and tomatoes. Yum! Service was outstanding, I think her name was Carrie. Loved the trees and decor within the restaurant making the ambiance cozy. Stopped by on our way to Arizona. Boy, what a find! My lady and I definitely needed a break from driving and wanted something to drink, and why not stop at the casino? Easy to find, clean,bright and the employees are very friendly. Our server was really nice and brought drinks out fast. We both ordered a grill cheese plate that included fries. Oh boy, the fries were hot! Just the right amount of oil and salt, not greasy at all. This restaurant also handled a large party before us, and we all got out food in a timely matter. Stumbled into this restaurant during a motorcycle trip back home. It was excellent. I had steak fajitas, wife had a turkey avocado sandwich. It was cooked right, portions were large, price was reasonable. The staff were also excellent. Our server, Glady, was a sweetheart- on the spot with refills before the glass went empty. So I hope the food is good. Seems to get a lot of traffic as there was about 35 customers. I think the staff is friendly. Looks like there is a buffet which most people are getting. Sorry to say because it was very well staffed and nice atmosphere... but in the end, the menu and all previous comments were a mere facade as the food was bland and difficult to eat as my tacos were covered in beans on the underneath. Never had my tacos placed on top of the beans. And the beans were blah. Guac not good. Rice bad. Beer only saving grace. I was hopeful but let down. Salt helped slightly. I use to eat here every week many years ago when it was much much better. Seems like ever since Covid this place has never been the same. The service is hit and miss. One reoccurring problem I've seen is they leave the finished plates and baskets on the counter way longer than they should be. So many times your food is not as hot as it should be. I just encountered this same issue right now with my tuna melt and fries basket. I I actually saw my basket sitting up there on the counter for over five minutes. There aren't a lot of places to eat in this area but we did find this one on the web. It's easy to find and just off the I-40. There were four of us for dinner and we were seated right away. That's always a good thing. The menu was very good and offered a lot of choices. My husband ordered the soup and salad bar because he liked the soups he was told he would have a choice of. Oops. Those weren't the soups on the salad bar when he got up there. Server hadn't checked daily menu items obviously. One order was the Yankee pot roast and our friend said it was excellent. Also excellent was another Mexican combo plate. The fourth item was one that was on the specials board when we arrived. I asked the server if that item was available and she indicated it was at $12.99 with a players card. So, I ordered the steak and got the players card. The steak was cooked perfectly. Matter of fact, all the food was excellent. Chefs did a great job. When the bill came I noticed the steak was listed on our tab at $15.99 and not the $12.99 that our server had confirmed. I figured it would be taken off with the player's card at the cashier. It wasn't. Cashier argued with us that it wasn't available that day at the special price regardless of what server had said. Food was excellent but two BIG oops from the server brought this restaurant from a 5 star to a 3 star. So, I would just say to double check everything. read more

October 2021 and this place is still not open for public dining "because of COVID." You can pick up food but it was just meh. We ordered 3 sandwiches and waited 25 min for them. My dad wanted sautéed mushrooms instead of the obligatory carbs with his sandwich but they wouldn't do that. Maybe one day they'll get it together. Stopped for gas and to use the restroom on a road trip between Albuquerque and Scottsdale. Found this diner attached to the Dancing Eagle Casino. The place is huge and decor is nice. Very clean. They have this fake tree in the middle. Kitschy but quaint. Decided to have the Southwest Benedict. The plate of food they placed in front of me was bigger than my head, which is a bit large so this was a massive mound of food. Two eggs any style, over easy of course, on home fries with chorizo, green onions, garnished with chopped tomatoes and a sprig of cilantro. Oh and spread with some sort of sauce. Supposed to be green Chile sauce but I suspect it was more a kin to a hollandaise but not yellow. Dang, forgot that this is all on top of an Indian fry bread. For those that don't know what fry bread is I feel bad for you. Look it up and drool. I did my best but could barely finish half and the journey through this was very tasty. I'll never think of breakfast the same way again. I'll be sure to stop by again the next time I'm passing through. Heck I may just plan a trip just to eat here again. read more

I cannot find the words to express the amazing customer service my family & I received during both our visits, the staff alone deserves 5 stars! Our first waiters name was Samuel, we also had the pleasure of meeting his aunt who was the hostess that day. They were both extremely polite & had a very soothing energy that any weary traveler would gladly welcome. The overall cleanliness of the establishment (bathrooms included) was something that I feel the people of Ohio seriously need to take note of. You can tell that the overall attitude of the staff is extraordinary as it shows in their work. Our food was fresh & delicious, the environment was quiet & the decor unique. The portions are huge and the prices are very fair. There's even a cute little old fashioned dinner setup where you can get fountain drinks (ex: cherry limeade, milkshakes,etc) . On my way back home, we visited this diner again (unfortunately I lost my receipt so I forget our waitresses name) & our waitress was so polite & caring. I was surprised because this place was in the middle of nowhere, but the service was great! The all you can eat salad bar was actually really fresh, and the turkey veg soup was off the chain! THE PERFECT BREAKFAST! We came in through the Dancing Eagle Casino, but there is a direct entrance to the restaurant as well. We had initially stopped at the gas station across the street and saw that there was a diner across the road, so we went in! We were seated right away and ordered breakfast. I got the garden omelette and my mother got eggs and toast and pancakes. It was delicious!!! Probably the best hash browns I've ever had in my life, the eggs were fluffy and hot, and my mom tried their homemade bread which was good. 10/10. Great ambiance and interior.
