Stopped by for breakfast while traveling. Ordered an omlette, scrambled eggs, biscuit and gravy, and a blue corn waffle. All were good except the biscuit and gravy came out on with a cooler temperature than I would of preferred. Also, I got a blue corn pancake instead of a waffle but told the server I would just eat it. The toast also was not buttered so you have to do that yourself (one thing I dislike is being served unbuttered toatoast. Server was friendly just not as attentive as I would of liked (wasn't asked if we need Tabasco, had to go fund some cream, asked for more butter multiple times, etc.). Prices were reasonable and menu allowed you to order alot of items a la carte.

Casino food is no longer dirt cheap. Prices are about the same as a chain diner but the restaurants are more decked out in make belief glamor. For breakfast here, think Denny's. Lunch and dinner have meatier choices. Nice, clean and new.

10-21-21 Solid service that is accommodating and friendly is always appreciated. The restuarant is situated in a casino. The salad was fresh, the green chili stew had good flavor but needed more heat. The ribeye special was well prepared, medium rather than the medium rare I requested. I forgot that if you're not at a high end steakhouse order rare it'll come medium rare. Nice char on the steak and a good flavorful quality cut.

Best place to have biscuits and gravy they have really good breakfast, it's my 1st time here, I will definitely come here again.

After a long day on the road this is a great place to get some good food. The staff is so friendly and professional. They check to make sure you are happy and if you may need anything. The manager Trey is such a team player. Being short staff is a challenge but even he is making sure the place is clean and safe for the next party. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are amazing.

We went for the ribeye special and it was excellent. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. The side salad was large and crisp. The servers were really nice.

First don't call that your restaurant if you don't have a "teppan", (flat griddle), and a cook to cook right in front of you. That's the whole purpose of a teppanyaki restaurant. And she also got onion rings, fried shrimp and some kind of meat potstickers. They were over-fried. It was pitiful and so disappointing.. It was very minimal and not fresh. I felt like they took advantage of my mother. I wish she knew to look before taking it but she was tired and didn't know better. She paid $40 and some change. That included a $5 tip. So it was $35. Bad experience. I didn't really like the other Chinese buffet in town either, but I would rather have that place than this New China Gate or 66 Teppanyaki place, whichever it's called. And I tried to call to tell them about our food but their phone numbers don't work. And we live too far go back to tell them about our experience.

It's unique from the other buffets in town by having a build your own and cooked fresh then brought to you approach. I liked the flavor of the grill the food had, I went back for seconds to try a little bit of everything! It didn't disappoint. I even was able to take home leftovers! The service was super friendly, kind, and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean, quaint, and quiet. I'd recommend stopping in if you have the chance!

04/13/26 First of…read moreall, don't let the other reviews of a "sketchy" area deter you from visiting Vick's Vittles. The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

All new staff that clearly don't understand the restraunt business. Went in today for breakfast, seated in the back. Out of sight, out of mind I guess. Took longer than normal to get waited on. Placed our order, had to correct the waitress several time on our order. Waited quite awhile, long enough to need more coffee. None was coming so had to call out to another waitress to get more. Our waitress did come back to bring the coffee. Before she got there we were discussing the fact that the entire staff was new. She must have overheard us and took it as some kind of slight to her. Two minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we were being rude to her server and that she would be taking over our service. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now". We said we didnt want her to cancel our order and she just said have a nice day. So we left. Sooo not the Vicks Vittles of the past.
