I swore I wrote a review at this Denny's restaurant in Chinatown years ago. Because it's nearest to my house, I'm here to enjoy the pancakes combo because all restaurants are closed after work. Food is so-so compared to the one by IAH Bush Airport that I frequent. Restaurant is generally clean but the men's room needs attention. I came here on a Saturday night, my scrambled eggs were overcooked. Service was just ok. Most employees I encountered seemed to be tired or need some caffeine. Not to be confused with Teenys, which are usually posessed by most dudes that say they are average down below and what not. This is in a bad part of town for American diners, because it's mostly amazing ethnic food - however, if you do want some crap American food, then this Denny's is right in the heart of Chinatown. Considering the location, usually I'd give it a one-star, but there's a staff member or two here who are generally pretty friendly, so I add one star for that, and it does have a tiny little old diner feel. Also, they actually that Barbie come in and use the bathroom on a couple occasions when we weren't even eating here, although we have eaten here once. So an extra star for that too. read more

Food was burnt and the potatoes were soggy on the Santa Fe skillet. Also the server tried to get me out as fast as possible by taking my plate before I was finished and drink as well. After I paid at the table, the server told me to leave saying it was her right to kick me out on Saturdays and Sundays because, "That's how I make my money." The food was affordable we received $5 off with coupon on the back of H-E-B receipt. We ordered 2 cheese burgers and fries and 4 pancake we bought Christopher a drink. Aye, it's Denny's! The hangover cure...you can count on Denny's to be the only restaurant open on New Year's, and we enjoyed a couple pints of orange juice as well as steak & eggs, a prime rib skillet, and various sides. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and our server was attentive. A friend that lives 2 minutes away couldn't wake his ass up, but it was his loss, as I came, feasted, and proceeded to take an awesome nap. Nothing gives you the same satisfaction as a long nap after Denny's. I think the menu selection has slimmed down a bit, as I don't see my favorite, the buffalo wing salad anymore. Then when it came time for the check i saw a charge on the ticket for a sausage when we asked about it she explain it was for the sausage.we had order the choconana pancake breakfast, then asked her why if we didn't ask for an upgrade in sausage we only asked that the eggs be scrabbled.she said she would take it off but then someone else STATED THAT IF WE ATE IT WE PAY FOR IT!!! Which is ridiculous because we didn't even know about it till the check and like we said NEVER ASKED FOR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. We stated that it wasn't our fault that it came out like that they later claim the manger would still charge it because it was policy. HONESTLY WORST EXPERIENCE ever and i work in a restaurant never have i seen such unprofessionalism to that extent or disregard for customer satisfaction.
