This was the worst service, and the food was cold, greasy unappetizing. I had the classic burger and fries. The fries were cold, the burger really greasy. The bun smelled like old oil. My husband had the all american slam. His food looked like it had been sitting under the warmer for a while, but yet it wasn't even hot. The waiter never returned to our table, we would have liked a coffee refill. It wasn't even that busy, everyone was just standing around. When the waiter did finally return to give us our bill, I asked if they gave coffee refills anymore because we would have liked a refill but now we are ready to go. AM is Wonderful PM is shit, in the AM great service, great food, coffee gets refilled without having to ask, check on you see if food is okay, food is Wonderful, PM shift is different... they got us our drinks, coffee as usual, got our food in two separate times, since getting food, not once did they come check on us, didn't refill our cups, didn't ask how the food was, food wasn't good though... the hash browns were burnt, the breakfast sandwich was under par with the seasoning that was supposed to be on the bread, and the meat in it was super salty, the chicken fried steak gravy is debatable on if it even had seasoning, there were less than a handful of chocolate chips on the chocolate chip pancakes, the "over easy" eggs were popped and over cooked on the outside but somehow raw on the inside, its supposed to be runny not raw... again go in the AM NOT the PM, AM shift is Wonderful, PM shift were literally standing there talking in the booth eating food waiting for the cooks to put food out, super neglectful... Haven't has a single issue with the AM shift, usually tip $10-$30 for great service... Did not leave a tip for the PM shift it was awful experience all around... Table was wiped off but chairs were not. Food crumbs on both side of the booth seats. Extra star for decent customer service. Young but kept it nice and short - we had little kids with us. The food was really bad, we all got food poisoning from this place afterwards. My burger was so charred and super seasoned I'm sure I was eating half the bottle lol I did not finish the entire burger. You will arrive famished at this restaurant. You will wait for 15-20 mins until the waitress decides to come over. Then, you will order and nothing will be available. FInally, you order some food, which will arrive after 45 mins. Now you get suspicious, perhaps the restaurant is crowded. But then you will realize there is no crowd and the place is a quarter full at the most. The cook will then yell his head off to say your order is ready and the lady will pretend to not hear at all. SO now your food that is ready will wait at the counter getting cold because the 'waitress' simply is too lazy to do her job. FInally, the food arrives and you realize you have blackened toasts and the half the egg is missing. But. you will still eat it all in silence very gratefully because at his point you are ready to die of hunger. And, you will tip well!!! Do not go here even though it is easy access on the freeway, goto any other restaurant but read the reviews first. We had no time because we had missed our lunch and we were at this point ready to eat any food at all. But if you have time at all do your research and give this place a miss. My wife and I are regulars at the Kelso Denny's. We go to breakfast there about 4 times a week. The waitresses there are always awesome and we always have a great breakfast. We went there this morning and my wife asked if she could have her eggs poached and was told that was no problem. Within moments we overheard the cook complaining about having to poach eggs and was pretty loud about it. Absolutely unacceptable! Ordered steak and eggs for dinner. Our waiter was very prompt to take our orders and get us drinks. Food came fairly quickly, as there was maybe only 2 other tables when we arrived. Now the eggs and hash browns and eggs were fine it was the steak that was the problem. It was salty as all hell. If I hadn't of been so hungry I wouldn't have eaten it. My family always enjoys our visits to Kelso Dennys. my 5 year old is very sociable and the staff treat her amazing! We visit at least once a month and are never dissappointed. Our food comes quickly and taste great! No matter how busy or quiet the manager always seems to be stopping by tables or helping staff. This is the only Dennys we enjoy visiting. I'm not a Denny's fan, but hubby wanted to check it out while we were evacuated from Oregon because of the wildfires. I gave in and wished I hadn't. There was only one other couple there when we got there; the server gave our booth a very casual sanitizing wipe before seating us. I sat in the only area she'd wiped and hubby did the same. Our server was friendly. They had paper menus which we appreciated. We ordered our breakfasts; coffee came first, and it was awful. When our breakfasts came, hubby was pleased with his omelet. I had ordered eggs, sausage with hashbrowns, and a pancake. The pancake was fine, but my sausages were barely lukewarm. We told our server about them and she said she'd replace them. After awhile, another server brought them to me, and they were just as lukewarm as the first ones. We ate our breakfasts; the coffee refills were no better than the first cups. The coffee didn't even taste like coffee. And we were charged $3.79 for each cup!! By the time I'd left a good tip, we were out almost $50.00!! I couldn't believe it. That much money for a crummy breakfast. We left, disappointed, wishing we hadn't even gone here. The one positive was our server, who was very friendly and did her best. Super Family Friendly! Passing through we stopped in for "breakfast for dinner", including the yummy Pumpkin Pancakes for a Fall treat. The place was full of families! Some tables were pushed together to accommodate ten+ people. Others had just one or two people, but, we all felt like family! The staff was friendly and quick to seat and serve us. There were highchairs! The manger was out front helping her staff, making sure everything was running smoothly and that customers were happy! The entire place inside and out was spotless! The waitress was helpful and answered all our questions about the menu and specials. Our food was perfect, hot food hot, cold food cold. Our pancakes, toast, and hashbrowns cooked to the perfect golden brown! Our waitress came through with hot coffee, ice water, and drink refills multiple times as she took orders, deliver food and/or condiments. The place ran like a well-oiled wheel! I recommend this Denny's for groups of all sizes. Some of the Denny's have a lounge, this one does not. The "Senior Menu" is a one reason we love Denny's! read more

My friend had been telling about this place for breakfast called the HiLander, it is a bowling alley with a coffee shop, so on our way to a Seahawk game we go there but the place is all boarded up and closed. We have limited time and the only three things in sight distance is a Denny's, McDonald's and a Shari's. That's kind of like being asked if you would like to die by hanging, electric chair or beheading. Weighing our options we decide that at least Denny's is consistent. I will say that we received an warm welcome by the hostess and were seated immediately with menus and water soon after. It was off to a good start. Then the food came. So, now you can pick your own Grand Slam by picking four of ten items. I picked the two eggs (scrambled hard), pancakes (2), bacon and grits. Honestly the eggs were perfect, fluffy and dry and a lot for two eggs. Pancakes, well c'mon, how can you screw up pancakes? I know you can, but I will give Denny's props for proper pancakes. Not great, not special, but good. The bacon was usual Denny's fare, so thin that it must it must have been cut by lasers (maybe the ones they attach to shark's heads?) and it tasted kind of like bacon, there wasn't enough to tell. Then it was time to sample the grits. I looked at my bowl of grits and along the upper edge it looked like when you get a boil over in a microwave, little dried particles along the top. Even if it was poured sloppily every bit of the rim of the bowl? Microwave grits, huh? There was only one thing to do... extra butter and a little sugar. I tasted my first spoonful. More butter, a lot more sugar. My second spoonful tastes like buttery, sweet spackle. I tried more, but it just never got better. Denny's, you failed grits, big time. Definitely not worth the money they charge in my own humble opinion. More points off for reducing the number of Grand Slams to four (three plus the make your own thing). On the positive side the service was very good and friendly, the bathroom was exceedingly clean and the place was pretty clean overall, no threadbare carpet like you see in most Denny's. read more

I come here frequently and LOVE the staff, like Carrie and Cassie, they are always friendly and helpful every single time. The manager Katie is always so welcoming. The food is GREAT. The cooks like Paul, Ray, Chandler and Matt always make everything delicious. I especially like the loaded potato soup, it's creamy, delicious and really is loaded. The Christmas decorations are really beautiful. Even the dishwashers, like Ray, help make this place a friendly and positive place. Does not support seniors and AARP! We recently ate at our local Denny's, after our meal when we were paying, we were told that the franchisee didn't accept the AARP discount ( although the sign was clearly posted on the register) for the food we ordered. And refused us the discount. This was a first the time this has ever happened to us at any of their restaurants. If you are a senior, and you go to this location, we would advise to be sure to ask in advance so you are not surprised by their refusal. Or maybe find another place that does actually support us seniors. read more

Place is like our weekend 'Cheers' now, as we always sit at the bar and they know what we're gonna order...best breakfast waitstaff around.
