    Delicious cubano sandwich
    Tammy L.

We ordered the bistec y huevos and the cubano sandwich. Both were delicious; I preferred the bistec y huevos. I had them add bacon and cheese to my eggs. The onions on the steak were amazing. We would definitely eat here again. The staff are friendly and gave great recommendations on what to eat. The restaurant is clean and nice inside with cold AC.

Very much a local Cuban joint, it is small and packed. There are only a couple of parking spots out front, so we parked down the block at the Burger King. I liked that I could get my Cuban sandwich without mustard, etc, so that worked for me. Marnie didn't love her media noche (Cuban on a sweet roll), but it was ok. It is a pleasant place.

We stopped by Denny's Latin Cafe for coffee on the recommendation of a local. We're not sure what the locals are thinking, because it really wasn't that good. It's more of a little diner (dive), more than a cafe. The place wasn't particularly clean, seemed very old too. The coffee was OK, and we had a couple of empanadas, which were warm, not hot, and pretty greasy. The service was OK, but the staff wasn't very welcoming or friendly. If we get to the area again, we'll take a pass on Dennys!

This place is as authentic as it gets. The food is excellent and the service is matches. Perfect little spot for having true Cuban food. I've been here multiple times and tried most of the menu. I highly recommend the Rabo Encendio (Oxtail).

Easiest 5 stars I have ever awarded. Food - Amazing. Best Cubano since I was at tge Miami docks years ago. Service - Perfect. Attentive, no nonsense, like it should be. Ambience - Great paintings and odes to the island and people of Cuba. Nicely done.

3.5/5 Stopped here on my way to Key West during the holidays as I wanted to try Cuban food, and I was told Key Largo is an excellent place for lots of Cuban places. My party of 5 arrived around 2:30pm due to delays leaving Miami. It was moderately busy, but everyone emptied out as we were dining. Again, I'm not acclimated to Cuban food, and therefore was looking for assistance on what to order. To my surprise given the reviews here, the service I received was poor. My party asked some questions to clarify some menu items, and my server gave answers along the lines of "can you read the menu?". Yes, but what is yuca? What's the difference between mixed rice and white rice? It took an unusual amount of effort to get answers for some of the food items. As for the food, yes it was delicious. Most of us ordered the ox tail. It's not a style that we're used to, but there was very good flavour and it was slow cooked well. Another person ordered the mahi mahi. Decent, as he told me. Given the reviews here perhaps it was a one off experience, and honestly the food was good. I think a 3.5 star review therefore is fair for this place.

I've been to this place a few times before for toasted Cuban bread and a pastry, but not for a sandwich. I wanted a Cuban sandwich before I flew home. I didn't want to deal with the parking or crowds of Miami. The sandwich was very good. I think the Cubans in Miami might be pressed harder and slightly crunchier bread but other than that, this sandwich was perfect. Some places don't use shredded pork, but this place does and it was not dry. I wish they threw some of those potato sticks on there, but that's no big deal, since the sandwich is huge. I sat inside because I wanted to sit and relax. Nice artwork on the walls.

This is always our first stop after flying into the Keys--no exceptions. There are so many must-tries here. If it's your first visit, start with the ropa vieja, the masita de puerco, or their Cuban sandwich--pressed perfectly, loaded with flavor, and absolutely worth the hype. You really can't go wrong. On my last visit, I tried El Jefe--think of it as a wrap stuffed with rice, black beans, chicken or pork, and platanitos. Trust me, you'll thank me later. And whatever you do, put their homemade mojo on everything. It's so good I buy bottles to take home. This little gem never disappoints: great service, incredible food, and a nostalgic vibe that just hits right every time.

Denny's in key largo is a must visit. It feels like a locals cafe, good friendly staff, and the food is amazing. We ordered the breakfast burrito and it was so much food but with how delicious it was it all for ate! Definitely check them out if you're in the area.

We've tried quite a few dishes over the years, and my favorites are the loaded chicken wrap and the Cuban cheesesteak. Whatever you order, don't skip the fried plantains--they're the perfect side. I have tried the skirt steak before, and it just wasn't my favorite, but everything else we've ordered has been consistently good. You can choose to sit inside in the air conditioning or outside at one of the covered picnic tables. Since you're right on the dock, it's a great place to relax, watch the boats come and go, and enjoy the Keys atmosphere. Good food, convenient fuel for the boat, and a waterfront location make this an annual stop for us every lobster season.

The sampler comes with two conch fritters, two coconut shrimp, two bacon wrapped items (which we replaced), cracked conch, and lobster and conch ceviche. I have to say this while it's fresh in my mind. The moment I had the lobster and shrimp ceviche, I got chills. Just an incredible burst of flavor. Tiny bit of heat at the end but nothing overwhelming. Just really, really good. The conch fritters are solid too. Chewy, not over breaded, and served with two sauces. One is sweet and one is more of a mayo style. There's also something that eats like a conch curry puff situation. I liked the cracked conch better personally, but both are worth trying. The coconut shrimp is also really good. The sampler also comes with tortilla chips on the side. The lobster bisque is delicious. Great flavor with little chunks of what I'm pretty sure is lobster throughout. Nothing more to add really. It's just good. The mahi and avocado dish has a nice seared taste to it. Not flame broiled exactly, but that kind of grilled sear that you want on fish. The pico de gallo is similar to what came with the ceviche, and it works really well here. All in at $75.

Daya's was a nice start to trying my first Cuban sandwich! FOOD: 7/10 Their Cuban sandwiches were H U G E and served piping hot. It was definitely very meaty and hearty. Our Cuban sandwich also came with a side of fries. We also tried their tamales, and those were pretty solid as well, especially when dipped in the sauce they had on the side. For drinks, my partner had the pineapple juice, and I had the guava juice. Both were very sweet for our liking, so we ended up watering them down a bit. SERVICE: 9/10 Nicest and chillest staff. They were very attentive, and I thought it was adorable hearing the side conversations they were having with one another. They were talking loudly enough for everyone to hear, but honestly, I thought it added character and made the place feel more real and lived-in. AMBIANCE: 7/10 Spacious space with multiple seating areas. Somehow, it had more of a simple cafe vibe, which I thought was interesting considering the name of the place and what they serve. Daya's Cafe was a nice start to my Cuban sandwich journey, but I'm sure there are plenty of other places out there that offer great experiences as well.
