I have never written a yelp review before because I like to give people grace but this was the worst dining experience of my whole life. We waited over an hour for our food and when my mother-in-law kindly let wait staff know that had waited a long time the waitress was extremely RUDE to her and snapped at her. Lipstick stains on the coffee cups. Hair in the food. Super unfriendly staff. Also extremely expensive. For three of us to eat was $75 we paid all of that just to be treated like SHIT. I think they are trying but it's solidly below average. I do not blame the server for this all the way but they need help. They ran out of mugs for the coffee and they gave me disposable cup. The silverware's are dirty so we had to ask for plastic ware instead. Food took way by too long (30 mins for just pancakes and skillet) and they look below average as well. Not from this town and was staying at a hotel up the road. Location hours may vary due to shortage of staff. I understand with the unfortunate events happening in the town with the fires and floods, some businesses are greatly affected but this restaurant should update the online systems to reflect their actual business hours. I had an online order placed in the evening, but unfortunately the diner was closed. I do appreciate the manager Paul being helpful with correcting the unfortunate experience from the night before. Today we had a snow day in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We were unable to get out of our hotel until after 8 o'clock in the morning. We decided to go to the local Denny's, which was less than a mile away. We were afraid that it would be closed due to the snow, but we were pleasantly surprised. This Denny's is open 24 hours a day. Randall, the manager on duty was working hard to make sure things were working smoothly. Our waitress, Sunshine, did a great job. She seemed to be the only waitress on duty and was taking care of 10 tables, successfully! My husband ordered the red, white and blue slam, and I ordered the spicy moons over my hammy. Our food order was timely, tasted great, and was served hot. The restaurant was warm and cozy. There was pleasant music playing and we had a great time at the Denny's diner in Ruidoso. read more

The GM, Michelle, and the day cook, Greg, did everything they could to make our meal a pleasant one. I am GF and dairy free, not by choice. They found a cooking spray that they could use instead of butter to prepare my food. They gave me alternate options to foods I could not have. The waitresses were very helpful too. Denny's was the only eatery open after 9pm when we got to Ruidoso. Food was the horrifying and service was not much better. After dropping off food at our table, our waiter did not come back once to see how we were doing or if food was ok. My son's Country Fried Steak was extremely salty and drenched in tasteless white gravy. My medium T-bone steak was dry and burnt on both sides. The shrimp was rock-hard and horribly dry. I had one bite of the steak and couldn't swallow the rest. The waiter obviously saw full piece on my plate when he finally dropped off the check, but made no attempt to rectify the experience. They obviously don't care about a paying customer's dining experience; they only want to push out old food and collect payment. Would not recommend this placunless you're near starvation and just need something to chow down. Update: to make matters worse, just noticed that the check we paid for was not even ours! My husband went to pay and I saw the receipt after we had left the establishment. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences ever! read more

Bad experience overall. We were there for 3 hours waiting as a party of 3. I understand being understaffed but they could have said in the beginning it was a long wait and no cook.
