Does not deserve any stars. 2 days in a row we got lied to about when our food was ready. We waited for over 1 hour and realized the day before we were there was not a fluke. This is a disgrace to the Denny's franchise. If I were the owner I would hire a manager that could organize the "3" short order cooks, a bus person to clean tables to free up the waitresses. Multiple people walked out getting fed up waiting for their food. Stay away from this place. It appears functional and clean but you will find out it is a farce!!! We were greeted and seated very quickly. Our server Rachel was the sweetest thing. She was so polite and friendly, but so efficient as well. Our drinks never got more than half way empty before she refilled them. Our orders were placed exactly as we requested, and came out in a timely manner. The food was yummy!!! Stopped at this location Christmas evening excepting some wait, sat by the kitchen ordered food, waited an hour and half still no food gave up and left. This is by far the worst visit l have had at a Denny's. Tables were full of dirty dishes, waiters and waitresses were complaining about food wait times and customers leaving. The kitchen staff was extremely disorganized even with management help in the kitchen. A member of the kitchen staff even quit during this visit. An nobody was at the front desk. A customer stated as we were leaving that they had been waiting on a to go order for two hours. Corporate needs to step in and fix this dysfunctional location, as it is a disgrace to the Denny's brand. read more

This place is horrible gave me spoiled chocolate milk. Asked for tea and it tasted like it was made with coffee. Once I order it took nearly an hour to get my food and there was only three customers in the building. My food was cold didn't taste good and the waitress was not attentive at all. Horrible isn't even the word for this place. I have since become sick to my stomach and been in the bathroom. Don't go to this place it's nasty and the cook was touching his face and then making food and not washing his hands food safety violations across the board steer clear of this place not worth it keep driving look for somewhere else to eat unless you want to get sick and have poor service. I have been a Denny's customer for years, from North to South. This particular Denny's which is co-located on a Flying J Truck stop in Saint George, SC, is a disappointment. The young lady "Tasha" that was assigned to serve my wife and I was so busy floating around, and talking to various people other than patrons, that we had to wait some time for her to give our order. For what ever the reason, other servers and the host delivered our food, other servers refilled our drinks, generally saw to our needs when they realized our server was not on the job. The food was acceptable but not presented to the standard or quantity (Skillet) I have noticed in other Denny's. Skillet not hot, tea served initially by Tasha in cup, later refill served properly by other server in tea pot with orange tea and not decaffeinated which we did not ask for. Could not get tea changed because our server was AWOL. Dishes, and trash finished were not removed from the table, no one asked if we wanted anything else like desert or additional beverage. We waited for a full ten minuets for our check while our server was no where to be found. Finally we got up and walked to cashier, she could not immediately find check because the server put in the wrong booth number. Having spent more than twenty years in the food service business, I felt that all of the problems noted and others not mentioned, result from a lack of supervision at this facility. Supervision was not properly managing and/or training personnel nor supervising the quality of service or the food presentation. As a afterthought, as this facility is co-located at truck stop, maybe the staff has come to think they don't require the level of service of other Denny's facility's. This place is SLOW... traveling we don't want a leisurely hour plus meal and we definitely want it HOT ... busy place and understaffed in waitstaff! We could see our food sitting there and not being served! After which we had to hunt down someone to get the bill... I know the food would have been fine IF it had been warm!!! Not happy... The only reason I gave one star is because once I finally got my broccoli, it was actually pretty good. It should not take over an hour to eat lunch at Denny's. None of our party of 5 had a special order; everything was straight off of the menu. 40 minutes into the wait, our waitress came over and told me they were out of tortillas and could I chose something else. I picked a grilled cheese sandwich thinking that would be faster but it took 15 minutes for that to come. The waitress apologized for the wait but the damage was done. Restaurant is nice and clean, service is good and the food was great. My hubby and I enjoyed brunch here today 2016/02/17 and tried the salmon and prime rib Cobb salad. Food was ready in minutes and was very good! Server was kind and prompt couldn't ask for anything more. read more

We are traveling and this was a place to go to quick off the interstate. My husband and I haven't been to a Denny's in a very long time, so we decided to stop. First off we walk in, had never been to this location and no one greeted us. There were two women behind the counter both looked up and not a word. We kinda stood for a moment while our kids were enjoying the little games, while my husband stood there right in front of the counter. I finally walked back over with the kids and I said do we just seat ourself?? Only then did she say yes I'll be there shortly. Sit down and got our food ordered and when we ordered our kids food the waitress was so nice and said oh it's Saturday the kids eat free. My husband and I were excited about that. You know save where you can while on vacation. The food was ok, the only good thing about this place was the waitress we had. Once we were done I went to pay for the food and the same girl that didn't say anything when we walked in, I said the waitress said you would take the kids food off since kids eat free today. She said oh no they don't eat free just on Tuesdays after four. I said well the waitress said the kids eat free on Saturday. She just said no, I told her that they needed to inform this waitress of this and she does so in front of me. Only then this waitress goes and asked the manager if they would honor it since she told them. I walked off bc I was just so out done with the way the girl at the counter was. The waitress then comes back to the table where my husband was and said that she was sorry about the confusion of the meals. The point of this is to not complain about having to pay for the kids food it's the atmosphere and the attitude of some employees at this location.
