Was in Santee - for a soccer tournament- the land of the maskless - LOL!!! No matter what establishment you went to, including this One, there are signs that say you must be wearing a mask to enter. I have been coming to the Denny's restaurant chains since I was a kid. I particularly like this location because the food is consistently good and always hot and fresh ingredients are used. The servers are extra friendly and it's never over crowded so there's no long waiting. It's always clean inside (no food stuck to tables and seats), and the atmosphere is pleasant. Also, they just started taking EBT which I like because now I can afford to come here more often than just once a month. I recommend this Denny's if you're looking for a quiet, nice restaurant with good food. read more

So, I used to come to this Denny's all the time in high school, because we were kids and this is what we could afford-plus they're open 24 hours. However, as an adult, I definitely don't frequent this place anymore. I did stop in last week, and though the staff was extremely nice and polite and helpful, they messed up both mine and my grandma's order. It wasn't sooooo drastic, but I did specify cheddar cheese on my burger, they gave me Swiss. Not a huge deal, but whatever. My grandma ordered some bacon avocado burger, and they gave her an entirely different burger-some bourbon bbq burger or something, I'm not sure. When we told them about the mistakes, they offered to make a new one, but it would take about 15 minutes and my grandma and I were on a time crunch. So we ate the burgers, which were fine, it's just not what we ordered. I also ordered a large side of ranch and they gave me a small little cup. The place was clean and the food came out in a timely manner though. read more

JANET!!! We went to this Denny's last night around midnight. There was only one server working, I believe 2 cooks, and 1 busboy. About 10 tables different parties and 1 table outside with at least 12 people. And still people coming in after us as we were seated. Also people coming in to place to-go orders. This server, JANET was absolutely amazing!!! She handled all the tables with kindness, patience, and a smile on her face. She was running back and forth from the kitchen to putting in orders to delivering food and also being a cashier. Even with all that still remembered to check on us, give us refills, and she kept apologizing for her running around (which was no problem at all). Also she was so kind and patient to our 2 year old who had just gotten out of the ER previous to us going to this Denny's so late. And she kept thanking us for our patience over and over again. This review is for JANET not the Denny's, because that's horrible staffing on their part. The five stars is for JANET who deserves a raise! We will be coming back to this Denny's location because of JANET. Hopefully this location will have more staff helping her out on our next visit! Very disappointing. Came here for breakfast/lunch. Asked for strawberry sauce and whipped cream for my pancakes. Mom asked for pico de gallo for her omelette. Hubby ordered lunch. Mom did not get the salsa. They didn't give her the toast that comes with her breakfast. I got pancakes with butter spread. I don't use salt, but my eggs were super salty. Hubby's food never came. We waited to eat with him until our food was getting cold. We still finished eating before hubby's food arrived (40 minutes later) and after multiple requests. Mom had decaffeinated coffee. She asked for a second cup and was told they were making fresh coffee for her. 30 minutes later, and requesting it again, the server brought it. Hash browns were not cooked as requested. I asked to speak to the manager and our server said he was the manager. I asked again and he said he was the assistant manager. He said they didn't have a manager there at the restaurant. When I shared my concerns with him, he denied it. I told him that none of our orders were right and we finished before hubby's meal even came. I asked him, "40 minutes? He explained that chicken required 10 minutes to cook. And that is why it came so late. When I told him again that we finished before his came, he denied it. When I mentioned the 40 minutes he accused me of saying something that wasn't true. He told me, I have the times documented in the cook area. I told him, good. Go look at it. It was 40 minutes. He said, good, whatever. Asked for our military discount. He said I already gave you a discount. The receipt showed no discount. The receipt said he was a server, not a manager. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. First of all the hamburger was extra greasy it was oozing with grease. I tried to patted it dry because I didn't have lunch and I was starving so anything at that point would have tasted good. My first bite tasted horrible my second bike tasted hideous by the third bite I spit it out.... What I found it out was that they took Frozen hamburger fruit in the microwave to defrost it and then they threw it on the grill... The meat tasted like microwave hamburger it was not nasty!!! I threw the rest away didn't even bother to ask for a refund I wasn't even near them to even get a refund or even bother making a complaint I was so pissed how dare you Denny's for doing this!!! read more

Yup, I made the mistake on a whim. When you think of a Denny's this is the place. The are friendly but sadly they work for tips. The Sante Fe scramble looked great in the picture but Holy shit. The plate of potatoes/eggs/peppers/cheese (without mushroom because they didn't have any in the kitchen) was covered in a oil that would have made an Oil Man refinery owner very happy. Everytime i come to this dennys they get my order wrong, they dont refill my coffee, the foods never cooked well. Ive been trying to get a job there for a month now. AC was not working, however Janet welcomed in our entire party (over 45 people). Probably the worst Denny's experience I've ever had. I didn't catch a name nor did the other two I was dining with but he had red hair. I ordered a burger with no cheese nothing crazy. By the time the food got there I had noticed there was cheese. I politely noted to the server that there was cheese and I asked if I could have a new one. Not even 2 minutes later I get the same burger mutilated, my topping and bun were ripped and my burger was in pieces. Lori and Johnny are great spirited people and awesome servers! It maybe busy, but they are consistently on the move helping someone. Last night, we waited awhile to sit... BUT once sat.. was able to order and food came out pretty fast. I'm not an impatient person though (&& I have a 6yr old and 3yr old boys!). If they are short handed, there are other team members that help. I NEVER have bad food at Denny's for my 36+ yrs of eating there. Denny's is always great, no matter which location you visit or what you order. However, its the people that make the experience memorable and Janet is no exception. If you haven't had the opportunity to be served by one of the community's friendliest waitresses, you're missing out. Janet always greets you with a smile and welcomes you in. Her casual yet professional personality makes you feel like your at home and about to have a great meal. Not that its her job to do so, but she always seems to build the right rapport by taking interest in the lives of her clients and on those days when everything is seemingly going wrong, she has just the right words of wisdom to make you feel at ease and open to enjoyable dining experience. What a surprise when they said they did not have record of my order! I had breakfast here a couple of times and lunch here once. Today I decided to order a hamburger to go, since I had a few places I needed to stop at. I figured it was less expensive than the usual take-out or drive-thru places around and I thought they would make a good burger. Well, I ordered my burger online an hour ahead of time. About 15 minutes before I left to go pick it up I called to ask if they could make my fries extra crispy. Yeah, that's when the Asst Manager told me they did not have my order. Yet I paid for it online and have a receipt that I printed. The Asst. Manager was not helpful at all and I asked "What should I do now?" She said "I don't know." So I hung up and called my credit card company to dispute the charge. I also called Denny's again a couple hours later, and guess what? They had my order. But by then I had already had lunch elsewhere. Denny's would not cancel my lost then found order and issue a refund, hence I am here with this negative review. No I did not they found a way to mess it up but before I get to that it all started when we walked in that even bother to acknowledge us or anything made it feel kind of weird like what's going on here, but they were acknowledging all the Uber eat drivers we've had some difficulty at that location once before but it was never dispatch to the point where they were going out of their way to make us not have a good time well back to the order after we received our order, the manager goes and grabs my plate and goes oh it wasn't done correctly so I said OK so they took it back I go to turn my head cut that and told me I need to pay attention what's going on you don't see the cook doing anything the waiter as well if the manager were behind where the kitchen area that make it seem like they were doing something to my food when they brought the food back, the waiter brings it back with his big old grin and dropped it on the table and the manager who always looks dumb as hell doesn't even apologize or nothing something tells me not the food because I do not see the cook ‍ remake my order or anything else, but they have the nerve to get mad at me because I refused to eat the food I left because I was really upset so they tell my friend you guys are not welcome back at this location no more but it's kind of funny they're the ones who messed up the order and one more thing I do not recommend this place to anybody the general manager, as well as the waiter who was working there are so rude and disrespectful, and I would like the owner of that franchise to reach out to me read more

For this little place they are Awesome! I sat down at the bar and the service was quick and accurate. The cooks really did make my crispy hash browns and bacon for me. Then one of ny family joined us after and o had to walk to the front of the restaurant to have him come and get the order.
