We ate at Denny's Kenmount Road St Johns tonight. There was 3 of us ladies who are known as The Golden Girls. The waitress,Osla and the manager,Shondi were exceptionally friendly and gave us top service! We would definitely recommend! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back. It is what you would expect for a chain breakfast restaurant. The food is nothing fancy yet tasty, the service is friendly but you must understand every weekend will be very busy because everyone loves brunch, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I personally love pancakes but we wary of ordering speciality versions, they can be very sweet. Overall would recommend for any family, brunch date or hangover breakfast. read more

My rating for my first and last visit to Denny's on kenmount road gets minus 3 stars. I get it, it's a chain so expectations are low. Here are my issues with our breakfast dining experience: 1) if you have a menu with photos of what your meal looks like, you should probably send out the plate of food looking like that or I don't know , better? I had at least 3 ingredients missing from my omelette And the "hashbrown"/ sad latke was undercooked and somehow greasy af 2) our server did not ask first nor last how we were making out. How the food was , ask us if we needed anything, or refill the awful coffee we were chewing down , no water, no eye contact etc .. brutal When my partner finally caught her eye to ask for hot sauce she still did not ask how anything was . 3) saving grace to the experience ? Ive eaten here twice, but each time its a struggle to finish all of my food (they give large portions!). Great spot for a cute little date, also cute inside with the old diner theme. It seemed a little understaffed one of the nights i went as our server was sweating and looked like he was struggling, obviously not their fault. Very unimpressed after my first visit to Denny's. Waited forever to get my food while the restaurant was mostly empty. When the food arrived it was disappointing, the eggs weren't cooked properly, my chicken was dry and overdone also were cold spots in my skillet. At one point a waitress walked out of the kitchen with a cigarette in her mouth and went out to have a smoke with a glass of water in her hand. Later on the same waitress sat out front and started eating with her hands while her feet were up on the chair, then proceeded to serve customers without washing. disgusting. Our waitress seemed quite confused at times. Brought out a messy plate that never belonged to us and laid it on the table. The staff working that shift were childish and unprofessional. Not impressed. First visit and it will be my last. Dead restaurant but fill of dirty tables. Took forever for a server to even ask us for drinks. Food was okay, but one of the sandwiches was missing a requested addition. Never asked about refills, and the server seems to be missing action. Plates have been empty for at least 15 minutes, no server has cone by to ask if we're okay or want refills or dessert. Or even to bring our bill. Sad state of affairs. read more

Probably the worst & poorly run restaurant I have ever went to yet. You think after a year of opening that they would be more established and run better. I myself managed a few restaurants and how this place & staff is not better welled trained, it amazes me. Waiting times to seat is about 20 mins and the place is half empty, tables not getting cleaned and staff standing arounding just chatting. Then Eat time well over 45 minutes again. Reason. Take out has priority over the eat in customers which to me is wrong and they should come first above all. This place needs to be managed better then this because later on, customer will get sick of the time waits and just fine a new place. read more

VERY disappointing, waited forever on food, meals did not come out at the same time and to make it worse what did come out was cold. When I complained about my food being cold the waiter removed it quickly from my table and told me I wouldn't have to pay for it, however she never asked to replace my meal (assuming if she did the wait would have been ridiculous again). This restaurant is VERY hit or miss. You either get a good overall experience, albeit fairly overpriced (14$ for some chicken strips? Without a side of fries too...) or it's absolutely terrible. In my worst experience there, a handful of waitresses were more interested in talking very loudly with their friends seated at the table behind us, instead of doing their job. My girlfriend and I could barely hear each other, as they carried on, laughing and yelling. It took a half hour for someone to get us our drinks, and over an hour for our food , which was completely incorrect. I ordered the "choco-nana pancakes" which are supposed to be chocolate chip pancakes topped with banana slices, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips and whipped cream, however, all they gave me was 3 chocolate chip pancakes.
