They have some really good rolls that are unique to their own menu. I really like the fact that they are generous in portions. My sashimi was sliced thick and plentiful! Let me say that first if all, the rolls are humongous. Literally. I've never seen a california roll the size of my fist. What to try at densetsu? When I first came here I tried the baked salmon roll, baked green mussels, and the popcorn lobster roll. All were the best. The baked salmon roll is my personal fav. Huge chunk of baked salmon excites my taste buds even more as I fully devour the whole roll. The baked green mussels are fabulous. No other sushi retaurant serves their mussels like densetsu does.. just wow. And the popcorn lobster roll is wonderful as well. Haha. In the end, we top it off with a desert of tempura ice cream. Even though there are a line most of the time but the staffs here managed everything very well so you never have to wait more than 10 minutes. The foods are good and the price is very reasonable. Even though they don't have a dine-in option, it looks like they are busy. I love this place and will continue to come back. Their service is great. The rolls are fresh and delicious. Their menu is very extensive. Their prices are reasonable. Some of my favorites are that tuna tower, the spicy salmon Don bowl, the Red Mountain roll, and the crispy rice spicy tuna roll. One word of caution is that they have several ceiling fans going full blast to cool the chefs, but makes for chilly dining, so grab a jacket. Well worth it, however. read more

Great little sushi place with huge... and when I say huge I mean huge... portions! We came during lunch so there was no wait but it was still very busy! We had an eel roll, philly roll and a Jays favorite roll which were all huge and tastes very fresh! The Jays roll was a spicy tuna roll with tomatoes, salmon and avocados on top and the roll itself was the size of 3 regular spicy tunas! Crazy! We've been coming here for about 6 years now. Since the beginning, we've consistently had great service and great sushi! Food is delicious and comes out quickly! Customer service is great; the worst problem I've ever had was needing a water refilled. Keep in mind: in the weekends, the dinner rush is REAL. If you're coming at around 6:30-7:30, be prepared for a wait (approx. 30 min). Our sushi favorites/go to's are the Ahi Tower, Spider Roll, Dragon Roll, and the Densetsu Roll. So yummy and soooo good. Go to appetizer is the seaweed salad. Generous portion and always fresh! Another favorite of mine is the tempura udon. The broth is delicious and the noodles are chewy and cooked to perfection. You can also get tempura (pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, carrot, string beans, etc.) for the udon and it's delicious as well. I actually prefer densetsu's udon compared to restaurants in Dallas and Plano that specialize in traditional udon (ex: ikigai udon). Try this restaurant out, it's my favorite! read more

I'll start by saying this is the first time I've been inclined to write a review. My wife and I were out shopping with our 1yr old and planned to go out to eat after. As time went on, the little one grew impatient. We decided to grab takeout on the way home instead. We were immediately surprised how full the dining room was and how great the food looked. A young man promptly & politely handled our order; he even managed to get a smile out of my son in the process. When we got home and unboxed the food I was blown away. I had the chicken & ribeye teriyaki with veggies and rice. The meat was tender and covered generously in a bold/tangy sauce. It was the exact meal I've been looking for close by. My wife had the California roll and shrimp tempura roll. Both were HUGE she said the ingredients tasted very fresh and had perfectly cook rice on the outer portion. All in all this place is a 5/5. Best sushi place in Dallas hands down. This is not your typical sushi place by any means, you are greeted in the traditional Japanese way as you enter but as soon as you open the menu and see an item called "heart attack roll" you know you're deep in the heart of Texas. Pretty much every specialty roll you get is going to be difficult to eat with chopsticks or in one smooth bite so your chopsticking skills are definitely tested. Flavor-wise it's all awesome - I've tried the tuna tower, salmon tower, lion king roll, Godzilla roll, the Murphy roll and the flavors mesh brilliantly. If you're not much of a spicy mayo/imitation crab sushi eater, this is not your place but I definitely am so this is my go-to spot every time I get a sushi craving. read more

It might just be me cause I didn't have much to eat all day but man... the huge roll just wasn't my liking, it's just too much in a big roll. I mean the prices are good for the amount you get but I rather have quality taste and I think that's what's missing here. Maybe if they made them smaller but more quantity it might have not be so bad. Taste wise, I'm not really sure, I didn't really like it so much. A friend of mine brought me, on the way there he kept telling me how it was the best in Plano and that's why he goes twice or more a week. I definitely see why. The portions available for their bigger rolls is impressive, yet their nigiri has more delicate flavors than a lot of other places around. On every dish we ordered, the rice was perfectly cooked, nothing fell apart, the sauces were neither too salty nor sweet, and the tofu was treated with care. My boss suggested we have her birthday lunch here. OMG! Great food!! We dined on the Red Dragon and Philadelphia rolls. The size of the rolls are huge in comparison to other sushi restaurants and it's not a mass of fillers either. The fish was fresh, bountiful and tasty. Awesome! The dessert amazed me as I tasted what looked like a lemon was actually an orange. Who knew?! The green tea ice cream that arrived for her birthday dessert was fabulous!! I loved the atmosphere, the greeting at arrival (and departure) and the pleasant service! It may have been a busy lunchtime but we weren't rushed through our experience.
