I am very disappointed with this place.Dr.Chung doesn't finish procedure and wants to move on to extracting different tooth.I got a crown in April I still have pain in my mouth and I will go to a dentist I have used in the past to solve this problem.My reason for going to Dent-Care was it is closer to wear I live.Not worth the trouble.It seems like it's all about the money with Chung not the patient.The older receptionist is not that pleasant. read more

This place gets busy so make an appointment in advance! I actually showed up a little late for my appointment, but the staff was friendly and understanding. The x-ray tech was very nice. The dental hygienist (I believe her name is Chanda) was very good and informative. She picked up that I was brushing too hard right away and informed me of how that can impact my teeth/gums. Dr. Volkner was very thorough and friendly. He really took his time. You can tell that this office has it together. I look forward to going again in 6 months! Such a great experience! Who says that after a dentist visit, right? Dr. Volker was THAT great! He was very thorough and very attentive. I haven't been to the dentist in over 5 yrs, so I was cringing at the thought of going. They took X rays and he went thru each one with me, explaining what I was looking at. I've never had a dentist do that before. There are a few potential trouble areas, but he didn't try to push any unnecessary procedures on me. After all was done, I got a goodie bag filled with toothpaste, toothbrush, couple of different flosses, and a tongue cleaning brush! My favorite dentist is Dr. Volker. Unfortunately, Dent-Care Dental no longer takes my Medicaid insurance. I had not gone to have my teeth cleaned in many, many years. Each time I got my teeth cleaned (every 6 months) back when I lived in Astoria, my bottom incisors would hurt for days. When I got my teeth cleaned at Dent-Care - even though it had been many years since my last cleaning - there was no pain or discomfort in my incisors! Dr. Volker had to fill some cavities for me and he was great! They also gave me a "goodie bag" with a toothbrush, tongue scraper, toothpaste, etc. :) read more

A few years ago I had a dental emergency and a friend recommended this office (I live a few blocks away). I was able to make a quick queeze appointment and Dr. Volker was able to see me immediately. Now, I see Dr. Kitson, who has taken very good care of me and I could't be any happier (I have even fallen asleep as he's worked on me). His assistant is wonderful too. EVERY person in this office is super nice and always makes you feel at home, which to me is a very important part of going to any type of dentist/doctor. So I would very highly recommend! read more

I've been going to Dr. Volker for four years now and am extremely pleased! He is incredibly knowledgeable and loves what he does. The fillings that I've received here have been great and my teeth feel like new :) Everyone at his office is great, too- from the hygienist to the reception staff. I've been going to this location for more than 3yrs now. I can officially say they are the best dental office I've ever been. The staff is very professional and helpful. Not to mention their dentists at this location is the best. Is anyone ever happy to go to a dentist check no. But honestly after visiting this location you will have a different outlook on getting your teeth checked, cleaned/worked on. I was referred to Dr. Volker because I have sensitive teeth and I wanted a skilled dentist who would not cause me much pain during my cleaning. Dr. Volker was amazing. Went for a consultation to discuss some cosmetic options for my teeth and he tried his hardest to achieve the look that I was going for and he exceeded all of my expectations. He tried multiple times and I never felt like he was rushing. He finally achieved the look I wanted and now I will finally be getting the Hollywood smile I always wanted. He was patient and knowledgeable and did not let me leave his office until I was satisfied. He also takes pictures and molds so that he can remember what's the exact look you want. This place is full of scam artists. I called for a cleaning and after 2 appointments later I still haven't received one. First appoint was an evaluation by the dentist, second appointment was an evaluation by the hygenist. They recommended a special deep cleaning that they needed to have approved by insurance. The insurance did not cover it and the procedure costs around $400. When I asked for a regular cleaning on what would have been my 3rd visit already, the receptionist rudely argued with me that they would not do a regular cleaning. I had my files sent to a different dentist and was told I did not need a deep cleaning and that this dentist office was only trying to get money out of me. Don't visit this place unless you like your time and money being wasted. read more

I'd like to start off and say I have been coming here for years! DDS. Volker and his staff are so professional and helpful! I was just there on Tuesday and I see the measures they have taken to help keep themselves and patients safe during this pandemic! They are always very accommodating and go above and beyond to help their patients! I have been with DR. V for many years and he is the best of the best. He makes sat dentist visits not terrible!

My husband and I have been coming here for a few years now for general dentistry check-ups. The wait for being seen is never more than a few minutes or they'll call and let you know ahead of time they're running behind and ask if you can come in later instead of waiting. They are always apologetic. All the hygienists are friendly, polite and gentle while cleaning teeth. A couple of years ago I had fallen and chipped my front tooth. I was able to be seen on a Saturday without an appointment quickly and without being made to feel like I'm inconveniencing them like you would else where. I can't remember the gentleman who fixed my tooth the first time but he did an awesome job of making it look like nothing happened. Unfortunately, some of the bonding came off when I bit down on a chip and I had to have it touched up. Dr. Volker took care of it this time and did an amazing job. I've never liked my front teeth and after chipping one and kind of scrapping the other when falling I felt it was time to do some cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Volker had me come in for a mock-up before the actual composite bonding veneer appointment. He really took the time to perfect it to his standards, which are higher than my own, and made sure I was happy with what he had done...all this before the actual appointment. Dr. Volker is a more than just a dentist, he's an artist!! I had the veneers done yesterday and I can't stop looking at my new teeth. The appointment was about 3 hours with a couple of breaks in between. He and his assistant worked well together and kept me informed during the whole procedure. There was never a feeling of being rushed through the procedure. He took his time and had to make sure everything was perfect. I really can't say enough good things about him and office. Even the way the lidocaine wore off was better then I ever felt before. He explained my gums might be sore the next couple of days and where they injected me with the lidocaine. Well so far the really don't feel any differently than normal. I'm schedule to go back for a follow up in about a week or so to make sure the color and polish are good and what he wants. If you need any cosmetic dentistry even just a general check up, GO TO DR. VOLKER! I'll say it again, he's an artist. I've always been self conscious about my front teeth and hated to smile. Dr. Volker. Dr. Volker! !!! Best doctor, dentist, public servant ever! I have always been a huge fan so much so that my ex boyfriend would accuse me of cheating with him him hahaha! No seriously this guy knows his stuff. He uses lasers and xrays to check for cavities. He explains every detail of what is going on with your teeth. He never dismisses any of your concerns but rather corrects your statements and proceeds to teach you. Every time I leave I feel like I took a class on dentistry. Seriously I can read xrays now!! Wtf! I grew up with braces and my mother still is obsessive about teeth. So I have had many dentists through the years. My teeth are straight as an arrow but Dr. Volker always notifies me of any changes in my dental health. This guy is a dental poster child. He deserves to be featured in a magazine seriously. O when I first started seeing him I moved 45 minutes away from his office so I was lazy about making my appointments. When I returned a year later he remembered me and conversations we had. It freaked me out at first but then I realized that it is such a great feeling to go to someone that actually remembers who you are and doesn't treat you like an ATM machine. My experience was not as positive as others. When I called, the receptionist did not ask which dentist I would like to make an appointment with. Instead, she just told me what days/times were available. When I went, the wait time was reasonable (about half an hour) during which I signed some forms. However, I did not like how the forms were written in a way so that you had almost no choice but to give consent to the disclosure of your private information. Dr. Kitson was the one who examined my teeth and he did a great job cleaning them. However, as soon as he was done, he rushed off to fill some forms and stayed in his office. This happened again the second time I went and so I had to ask questions about my teeth to the receptionist, who gave me an attitude. Overall, a decent dentist but poor people skills and customer service. read more

I will never see another dentist as long as Dr. Volker is in business. I went to see Dr. Kitson for the first time after having a dental emergency. He was able to see on the same day I called. The office is clean and inviting. The staff is both professional and pleasant. Like many people, I have avoided going to the dentist because of bad (and painful) past experiences. After going the Dent-Care, I believe I will return to a steady 6 month schedule of dental cleanings. When I saw the Dental Hygienist, she took her time and explained all of her concerns to me. Additionally, she re-educated me on basic dental care. Finally, Dent-Care has the latest equipment being used. My last Dentist wouldn't invest in current technology and I'd guess his equipment was about 40 years old. My former Dentist's use of older technology does not give me much confidence. Not like the high level of confidence I had when I left Dr. Kitson's office. I highly recommend their services. read more
