As you can imagine, it was pretty uncomfortable and we needed help quickly. I immediately jumped on Google and started calling orthodontist offices nearby. The first office I called told me they couldn't help us, which was discouraging. Thankfully, the next call I made was to Surprise & Carefree Orthodontics. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly kind and immediately said she could help us. They were actually getting ready to close in about 30 minutes, but she told us if we headed their way she would make room for us. On top of that, we needed authorization from our orthodontist back home, and she took care of coordinating everything. She got our orthodontist's phone number, connected with them, and had the authorization faxed over so they could treat my daughter. The entire process from the phone call to getting my daughter's wire clipped happened in about 30 minutes. Because of their willingness to help, we were able to fix the issue quickly and continue enjoying the rest of our vacation. I truly wish every orthodontist office was this easy to work with. The kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help a family traveling from out of state meant so much to us. We are incredibly grateful!

Originally, we went where our family dentist referred us. I was not comfortable with the way they operate. Looking for a second opinion, a friend suggested West Valley Pediatric Dentist. From the receptionist, to scheduling, to the hygienist, and the dentist himself, everyone was very personable. Everything was explained thoroughly. Options were given as how to proceed. The procedure was broken up into two sessions. My son left both sessions happy and said he liked going to the dentist. Even without the prize machines at the end, I think he would have said that. It has been a few months since the last appointment. No problems with the work that was done.

We had been going to this office since our child's first ever dental visit. We were told our child had 4 cavities and needed multiple teeth out and that it had to be done right away. They would also need to put our child under full anesthesia for these procedures. That didn't sit well with us so we went for a second opinion. The second dentist agreed the teeth needed out, but couldn't find 4 cavities and that we had about a year to do all of this before it became a problem. We came back for all the work to be done, but without anesthesia. They agreed to a twilight sleepy medicine. Our child did well with the twilight but WVPD said they didn't have enough time to complete all the work and that we would need to return and that they would only do it under full anesthesia. This did not sit well with us on pushing full anesthesia, so we went for a third opinion. Again, they could not find the cavities that WVPD found. We even had the records sent over to our new dentist and still could not be found. Our child needed a third tooth pulled that we knew about. This new dentist did a local anesthetic and our child did awesome! After researching it seems WVPD is owned by an anesthesiologist and that is why they push the fully under for kids dental procedures.

This was my second time having braces (first time when I was 14) and I couldn't be happier with my result! From the beginning Dr.Olson told me it would be 12-18 months and I was finished right in the middle of that! Got them on in the end of November and got them off in the end of January exactly 14 months. Every time I went into the office the ladies greeted me by name and always made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I love that they automatically give you permanent retainers and also a pop in and out version to wear at night. I've been having extreme pain in my jaw, neck and back from a dental clinic called Bright now Dental 91st northern. I went into this dental clinic back in December without any pain or issues, I just wanted to start taking care of my health and teeth. Since going to bright now dental I have experience neck and jaw pain that hurts all the time. I can't even sleep without a mouth guard and I find myself wearing one all day to help with jaw pain . I have had multiple appointments to try to relieve the jaw pain and once the dentist from bright now dental could not find out what was wrong the only solution they came up with was to give me pain medicine. Well of course I refused and am now being referred to a TMJ specialist. Friends please be cautious of any medical or dental places you go to and if your not sure about the treatment get a second opinion. I hope none of you will ever experience issues like this. Since they were originally put on by a different orthodontist (Festival Dental Group). During my consultation they explained they could in fact remove my braces AND it could be done that day. I was very ecstatic with the news, as I assumed that would require another visit. I mentioned I was overdue for a teeth cleaning and they assured me that could be done during the same visit as well. On top of that, I also indicated I had a few teeth that have become jagged/pointy, due to me grinding my teeth at night. They were able to fix that DURING THE SAME VISIT. I couldn't believe the level of customer service by everyone I spoke to and worked with. Walking about if there with everything I needed done, all completed during the same trip, was outstanding. I couldn't be more thankful for how efficient everyone was and their level of professionalism. Considering I had braces removed, my teethed cleaned, and polished my jagged teeth, you would've thought I'd leave with an expensive bill. To top everything off they were very very affordable. My insurance may have played a factor but I've had expensive bills with insurance at other dental offices before. I'd like to give a special thank you and acknowledgment to Samantha, the main hygienist who worked on my teeth. Well when I got my first pair I didn't see an orthodontist the tech did it and sent me on my way. Great light coming from windows & it is attached to an ortho office so your child can get both things done at the same place. So smart! There are no individual rooms, there are chairs all next to each other In an open room. Parents can sit in a chair next to their child. Then after the visit the kids get a coin to get a special prize out of the machines. On your first visit you get a tshirt, and if you wear your tshirt to your next visit you get 2 coins for 2 prizes :) Overall, the dentist was friendly, helpful and educational. The dental assistant brought us back and showed the kids the nifty tools they use to clean their teeth and got them excited and comfortable in their seats. The cleaning was quick, painless, and the kids did great. I have a horrible fear of the dentist, so I am glad this isn't going to be haunting my next generation. The dentist inspected their baby teeth and all got a good report with directions to brush, ditch the binky, and come back in 6 months. When we left the kids were given tokens for the prize machines which was so fun and clever. They also got t shirts and a new toothbrush and exciting floss!! The office itself is fairly large with a fantastic waiting area for the kids with a fish tank, camping decor, coloring books and crayons, a movie playing, and books to stay entertained. The back of the office invites campers back with more fun decor, colorful chairs, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes the dentist fun! He is 6 feet tall at 13 years old, so there are a LOT of changes happening over his years and braces are a part of managing his bite (teeth). He started out with a VERY narrow bite and an under bite (front teeth behind bottom teeth) upon his first set of braces. The first set of braces gave our (who is now a teen) an AMAZING wide and beautiful smile!! It saved his teeth from wearing out from the friction of the top and bottom teeth having unusual contact because of his underbite. Our guy has grown so much since his first set of braces!! It is now time for the second phase. We are happy with the results of the first phase, and we could go elsewhere, but we are back!! Dr. Shipley is an asset to our kids and our community!! He is a very personable guy who truly CARES about the outcome for our kids!! We met with multiple orthodontists prior to choosing Shipley Orthodontics. I eliminated them all, but for Dr. Shipley.
