10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. $650 for a cleaning!? After insurance pays their half!? ¡RIDICULOUS ! Today (10/14/24) My wife and I went in for a cleaning, we were greeted by friendly staff, but once Dr. Zargar entered the room all hope was lost. She argued with my wife and I over how many root canals and fillings we have had, after looking at our exam sheets. (I've had these same teeth for 30 years, I think I know what work I've had done.) During the exam probing she was actively digging in my gums. I had to stop her, because the pain was too much. I had a cleaning 6 months ago and have no issues when I floss or brush. She then told me I had a degenerative bone bacteria that would cause all my teeth to fall out, and that's why I was bleeding. (It Couldn't possibly be because you are stabbing my gums!?) She made my wife and I feel like we abuse our teeth, like our mouths were shameful. Nevertheless we walked out. I talked to the dental assistant and office lady to file a complaint about Dr. Zargar's attitude and bedside manner, to which I was told no one has ever complained. After some research on this location, it seems all the complaints are about her! We will be taking our business somewhere else. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. First let me start this review like this.....I am 36 years old and I have been to a lot of dentists and this office is one of the worst if not the worst I've ever been too. I came here for the 59.00 xray, exam and cleaning special because I am disabled and have limited Income. I couldn't afford the 130 that Rises dental was going to charge so I came here because 59.00 is a great deal and I can get the cleaning I need since it's been a year. I get there at 2:09 my appointment was at 2:30. I watched 2 or 3 people walk in after me and get taken back before me. I asked when they were bringing me back and they said they were making a room for me. When they called me back almost an hour had gone by. The girl who did my xrays was nice, everything was fine there. When the doctor came in I let her know I was having a lot of anxiety and what does she do? She starts pointing out all these things wrong with my teeth and starts trying to sell me unnecessary procedures I know I don't need. She's telling me I need a new crown on my root canal, I need a deep cleaning and I have like 4 cavities....hmmmmmm kindia weird considering I brush my teeth twice a day religiously and floss at night and use tea tree mouthwash. I just saw the dentist and endodontist a year ago I got 2 fillings, a cleaning and a root canal. After I got my teeth in check they said nothing about needing anymore procedures but yet someone a year later I need all this work???!!! LOL You know, I was born at night BUT I WASN'T BORN LAST NIGHT! As Dr.Zargar is trying to sell me a bunch of treatments I could feel my blood boiling. I am SOOOOOO BEYOND SICK OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD LYING AND SCAMMING! It sounded like a mechanic trying to upsell me services I don't need. I told her I couldn't afford any of that and she just says "you don't have insurance?" Kindia like "oh? So we're not gonna make money off of you?" I told her I have medicaid which doesn't cover dental services in Arizona. They she lays me back and starts checking my teeth. This procedure is always a little bit uncomfortable but I have NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER been stabbed SO HARD in the gums that I was repeadly flinching and saying "OUCH!" she would say sorry and continue hurting me. Based off of the other reviews I've read this seems to be the scam, the Dr. Stabs your gums so hard that you bleed and then she makes up some bullshit about how you need all kinds of unnecessary treatments. This is why reviews are important so people can stick together and warn others of shady practices. I eventually MADE her stop stabbing my gums I told her it hurt and I was done to which her and the assistant offered me a topical which I agreed to because I was in so much pain. During applying this topical I was not offered a rinse or a suction so I had to ask for one. The topical made my tounge numb which started to make me feel like I couldn't swallow and started to make me panicky. I started to feel like i was going to cry. The doctor tried lying about needing to finish checking the pockets in my gums because something about getting an accurate cost or something for insurance I don't know, I could barely hear her under her mask. Then I swear she said something about losing her license if I didn't let her continue LOL WTF IS SHE SMOKING?! I asked if I would be receiving the cleaning I came in for and she again lied to me and I think said something like the ADA won't let her or something cause of some reason (once again, had no idea what she was trying to tell me, another part of the scam.) In 2020 I was told by a dentist that I needed a deep cleaning and that it was going to cost me 90.00, I went to another dentist they said "oh no, you don't need a deep cleaning, you just have a little bit of plaque on your teeth." They cleaned my teeth and I felt so much better. This is how I know she's full of shit. She leaves the room and I begin crying. She comes back in and tries to tell me it hurt because my teeth are in bad shape and I need to floss. I just looked at her and said "during the day?" Because I ALWAYS floss at night and she tells me yes, during the day lol! She also tried to prescribe me some fluoride mouthwash or toothpaste or something. In case you don't know fluoride is a neurotoxin and it is poison it doesn't protect against cavities, they are lying to you. I told her no I don't use fluoride and I don't want that. The dental assistant came in to see i was crying and comforted me. Then the front desk girl came in with a paper to explain "all the work" I needed done. Normal price was almost 9,000 and with the patient discount it was like 4,500 PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks and read the other reviews, they will tell you everything you need to know. Update: Went to a dentist for a cleaning since Surprise wouldn't clean my teeth and this dentist said NOTHING about having cavities, needing a deep cleaning or a new crown....SCAM! read more

A bunch of SCAMMERS!!!! I went in for a exam and cleaning. After my X-rays they told me I had periodontal disease and said all my teeth will fall out if I don't treat it...and if I only did one treatment then they'd still fall out. According to these TERRIBLE jokes of a dentist I'd have to do a $1,000 treatment 3 times and "maybe" I'd save my teeth. I asked if they could at least do a regular cleaning for today and they wouldn't even do that. Even though my insurance pays for a cleaning and exam twice a year. I left crying because what 24 year old girl wants their teeth to fall out. I decide to get ahold my X-rays and get a second opinion from my hometown dentist that has cared for my family's teeth for 20+ years. Definitely don't have periodontal disease, and my teeth definitely aren't going to fall out. These people should be ASHAMED of themselves and I don't know how they sleep at night! The staff here is the best I have ever had. I was told I would have thousands of dollars of work I would need to get done and Linda the manager sat with me while I cried with no judgment and worked out a financial plan that would not disrupt the funds I had for my wedding. Not only will I be able to get all my work done, but it will all be done in time for me to have a perfect smile for the biggest day of my life! There should be criminal charges filed against any dentist for exploiting many elderly clients. All told, hundreds of thousands of dollars may have been skimmed from senior clients by intentionally over-billing them for services. I am one of those persons.. I went in on a $59 special for a cleaning and the bill is over $1,600 that they in turn decided to bill Medicare! Mind you I just had gotten my teeth cleaned 3 weeks prior in Algodones Mexico, which is well known for dentists.. so knowing this, I just wanted to get to know a new dentist here in Surprise Arizona closer to our home. since I'm from Colorado and have no local dentist. Whatever you do, please do not use the office unless you have a lot of money and you want to be overcharged. I'm complaining to the insurance board, Better Business Bureau, Google review on their website review and anywhere I can write a review, to let people know that this office overcharging customers. The hygienist actually using her exploring tool decided to poke my gums of course making me bleed to in turn stating I needed a deep cleaning sorry lady I had just gotten my teeth cleaned in Mexico, plus I take care of my teeth having braces 3 times I am so fanatical! I did not believe you so I made an appointment in Colorado with my regular dentist I had for the last 30 some years to find out that everything you said was indeed fraudulent statements, unauthorized photos, unauthorized billing practices and never got my teeth, cleaned. I am a new patient and my initial consultation was very concerning. Similar to others who've commented, the hygienist prodded my mouth with a sharp instrument and made my gums bleed. It was very painful, so much so that I stopped her three times. Then the doctor came in and recommended that they flush antibiotics under my gums and deep clean certain pockets where there was inflammation. This, of course, would be an upcharge. They then suggested they would laser my gums following the procedure. The hygienist also shared that for my initial cleaning, she could numb my entire mouth for a "deeper" cleaning. She said lots of her patients have her do that. I get my teeth cleaned religiously every 6 months, haven't had a cavity in over 10 years, floss daily (really, I do) and have not had any teeth issues whatsoever. They made me feel like I hadn't brushed my teeth in a decade. Teeth Shaming at its finest. I can't imagine having to have my entire mouth numbed for a cleaning. It's ridiculous. This place is all about the money grab and they do not put their patients health first. A cleaning shouldn't require any of these "deep cleaning" treatments and shouldn't be painful. I have never left a bad review in my life. I thought i would try out a new dentist in Surprise. This be one of the newest offices by Costco said i will give them a try. Went in for basic exam Set of X-rays and 5 min probe by dentist. Said I need a -deep cleaning, 2 fillings, and a crown. Gave me an estimate and sent me packing. They said they would get it pre-approved with my insurance and call me to get me back in. When I got home I take a look at estimate!! Can get 2 colonoscopies and used Honda Accord for less. Anyway waited to hear back for couple weeks. Called numerous times, transferred to voice mail ir disconnected every time. Left message and was texted an appt in July! They billed my insurance $1,014 for checkup Dont think they ever wanted to do actual dentistry, ie - 2 fillings and crown. You can decide if you want to try for yourself but I thought I may save you the trip. Picture below of estimate. Shame how some just want to fleece insurance companies for huge $$ for basic service and drive our rates up while quoting outrageous $$ to consumer for what we actually need and end up going elsewhere to get. For someone who is terrified of the dentist, this office and staff are amazing! First off, the office is very well kept and clean! Linda was such a delight to work with when going over insurance and the cost of my procedures. Dr. Hall and Alexis were wonderful. I was walked through the entire exam and procedure which helped calm my nerves immensely! They we so gentle and made the entire experience as comfortable as possible! I am not normally one to post a review because honestly it doesn't even cross my mind but after the experience that I had here today I absolutely had to post!!!! These pictures are before and after just a few hours apart!!! I have always been terrified of dentists (needles suck ) but within 5 minutes of arriving I was comfortable and calm. If I could leave a .5 star I would. Only .5 for Alex my Hygienist who tried her very best to calm me. I really only wanted to go in and get my teeth cleaned. I have ZERO pain in my teeth so I was just expecting a clean and leave. I was there for over TWO AND A HALF HOURS. The female dentist had HORRIBLE bedside manner. So much so that I started sobbing in the chair. I have never had a cavity and all of a sudden I have 10 cavities and need 2 root canals. INSANE. Which of course is going to be $15,000. I went in for an emergency visit, my crown came off at work. They got me in the very next morning. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were very careful during X-rays and exam prior to numbing as my tooth was very sensitive. Dr Shaw was very nice. He listened to me when I said I was hard to get fully numb, he got it right the first time and for the first time ever I experienced no pain during a dental procedure. I moved to this area just one month ago, shortly after experiencing some tooth pain and some very deep drilling to replace an old crown. The pain was not much improved after I got here, so I looked around for a dentist locally. I found one on the Dentegra Savings Plan (a benefit of my Medicare supplement with AARP United Health Care) and made an appt. Dr. Joshua Shaw saw me, took an x-ray and gave me more info about the tooth and what he recommended than the dentist who treated it initially back in Reno. I really appreciated the time he took to explain what was happening and at what point, if any, he would do a root canal. When I've moved to new cities in the past, I've always asked for referrals to dentists, but this time I didn't know anyone so I did it kind of blind. I visited surprise modern dentistry on 8/31 for a new patient appointment (exam, imaging, cleaning, etc.). I was the first appointment of the day and I was brought back in a timely fashion for imaging. My gums were assesed by the hygeniest. I then saw Dr. Shaw whom was very nice, and he spoke of practicing as conservatively as possible. I was informed that I needed a root canal and had a few cavities as well. Upon completion of my exam, I waited well over an hour for the billing liason to come back and speak with me. When she finally did, I was informed it was going to be nearly $6k to have my few issues addressed. It was evident that the advertised treatments on the signs in the room were being pushed on the customer (for example, their onlays, "crown in a day", and their special cleaning). I said that price couldn't be right, as I have very good dental insurance and my wife has had much more extensive work and our out of pocket was a fraction of that. She left and looked further into it (which took another 30 mins or so), and the new price was still nearly $4k (interesting how the price changed so dramatically). I never got the cleaning included in the new patient special and the doctor never returned to answer questions as originally planned. I will not be back, and will be going to a practice that prioritzes patient care over profit. Of note, this all took around 2.5 hours. read more
