I wouldn't recommend going to this dentist. On his website there are many treatments advertised such as neuromuscular dentistry and technologies like the K7 jaw tracking device. Dr. Bernard Lynch doesn't use this device because he says it's overkill. So if you're hoping for more insight on TMD and your jaw position, you won't get it here. It's advertised on his website that a one-on-one comprehensive evaluation will be done that can last up to 2 hours. This is not true. He will spend around 15 minutes doing basic checks. This will cost you $200. Also he was a bit disrespectful when I asked questions about my symptoms. When Dr. Lynch heard that I read about TMD, he was very dismissive and said I shouldn't waste my time with that. He treated me like I was a nerd for trying to learn about dentistry. That's not the right behavior for a doctor. I gave 2 stars because at least he was honest when he said he didn't know what to do. read more

Dr. Lynch is a pretty cool guy. He's honest with you and tells you what you need to get your teeth in check, and if you're going to go see him at his practice you probably need a little dental honestly and bluntness in your life. His assistants/dental hygienists are wonderful, always willing to listen to my petty complaints as they work on my mouth. I'm currently in the process of getting a bunch of crowns done (one side of my mouth already finished!) and he's made it as good as it gets for someone who hates the dentist so much. Definitely a 5 star dentist! I'm not surprised that Dental Care Burke has been rated with 5 stars by all the other reviewers. I originally went to Dental Care Burke using a Groupon about 2-3 years ago and have been coming here ever since. Dr Lynch and his team are really great! They have wonderful bedside manner and are very friendly and accommodating. I've never felt like they've up-sold me. They present the options and let you choose what's best for you. Karen, the dental hygienist, is wonderful and does such a good job on the cleaning, etc.! I highly recommend Dental Care Burke if you're in the NOVA/D.C. Metro area!! I will not see any other dentist as long as he is in business. In looking for a dentist, I found Dr. Bernard Lynch of Dental Care Burke. During my 1st visit, a consult, x-rays, photos and Impressions for a wax up were done. I was given a treatment plan for veneers and a partial denture. I was assured by Dr. Lynch he would start and complete the work in the office. I was asked to prepay for the services and I would receive a discount and I accepted. I was asked to pre-pay over 10,000 Dr. Lynch started the treatment for my veneers after my initial treatment visit, he sent me to see his friend for evaluation on one of my teeth. When I called to make an appointment with his friend's office, I later found out that the doctor he referred me to was out of network. I informed Dr. Lynch; I really wanted to see someone in my network and what other recommendations he had. He told me he had none. I called my insurance company; only find out Dr. Lynch was also out of my network. Having already started treatment, I depended on his judgement and decided to continue even though I was misled to believe otherwise. For a while, I received no call back with regards to the next step in my treatment. Over a month had gone by and my temporary veneers kept falling out while I waited to be appointed. Dr. Lynch's work had begun to fall apart more then what I had expected, a total of 7 repairs/re-cementation visits since the work started. I was left on temporaries for a total year with no feed back on to what is my next step. Dr. Lynch was never present to evaluate the reasons for my re-cements. Growing more concerned with my dental health, I urged Dr. Lynch to come visit me in the hospital while being treated for a separate medical condition to re-cement his work and questioned why this keeps happening to which no explanation was given. I was growing even more concerned with the lack of professionalism, respect and lack of concern by Dr Lynch. On May 11th 2018, I was at Dental Care Burke to see Dr. Bernard Lynch to repair my temporary veneers that broke into 3 pieces. This would be the 7th time. When I got to Dental Care Burke, Dr. Lynch's office was closed. No one from Dr. Lynch's office was there to help me. After numerous failed attempts and waiting for an hour, I elected to be seen by a nearby dentist. The new dentist I met informed me of my concerns with the failing temporaries. Due to the nature of my treatment, the doctor took a CT-Scan to properly diagnosis my issue. This is when I was informed my problem was beyond just broken temporaries. He identified several areas of severe infection along with other concerns with my teeth that were not diagnosed by Dr. Lynch. These concerns were also not presented to me while being treated by Dr. Lynch. Yet, I was schedule to get my final veneers and denture delivered the following week. The treatment case plan (contract) detailed only 6 veneers and a partial. The new dentist informed me that I did not have any veneers, but did have teeth prepared for crowns/bridge with severe bone loss, abscesses resulting from a failed or poor treatment and decay on certain teeth. I was left to feel neglected and a year later I am no better now and only to find out I have additional problems that were undiagnosed. Dr. Lynch is more concerned about money then the care of his patients, he clearly has shown that with collecting my money prior to completing or properly caring for my dental health. Dr. Lynch is not to be trusted, lacks professional judgement and has a foul nature when confronted. I felt wrongly neglected for no reason. I have reported him my insurance company and the Virginia State Board for insurance fraud. He fraudulently billed my insurance company for veneers verses for crowns that he was doing, so my insurance company would deny my treatment. He was submitting cosmetic procedures so my insurance company would deny the claim. Dr. Bernard Lynch knew I needed far more and my condition was worse, he did not properly diagnosed me. I do not recommend anyone to come see this dentist he will leave you in far worst condition then you arrived with all his malpractice and lack of better judgment. read more

So, this unassuming dental office and Dr. Lynch are the best I have ever been too. He works with his patients to ensure they have their best smile (aesthetics) and best dental care (general dentistry). I have seen many different dentists all over the world and let's just say...my teeth are a mess. Dr. Lynch built a custom approach to rectifying the situation. And, he addressed my nervousness of needles and drills and everything else that people hate about dentists with an extraordinary bedside manner that is bar none! I actually look forward to going to see him and his team - they make me laugh and take good care of me and my teeth. Also, he has convinced my husband, who at the age of 8 displaced several teeth when he fell off his bike, that the impact of leaving them as they are would have long term ramifications. My husband has been told many times that people could make him look better but never got the real physiological rationale to prompt fixing. Dr. Lynch explained that grinding and cracking of teeth are inevitable and would result in extractions and dentures. Hubby starts Invisalign shortly to course correct his bite and will look even more handsome as a result of Dr. Lynch's handy work. Dr. Lynch is a compassionate, progressive dentist who is continually looking for better ways to make you the best you! He has some new technologies (Digital Smile Design) that are leading edge and shows you what your mouth/smile might look like IF you work with him. He covers orthodontics, dental implants, crown, caps and oral surgery. His continuing education philosophy ensures he is always ahead of the latest developments which means you get the most up to date dental care. I have been a long time patient of Dr. Lynch. From the first visit he put me at ease. I had horrible teeth that came from years of not taking care of myself. From the first visit he didn't judge me but assured me that he could help me with my teeth. I am really scared of dentist so after the first consult Dr. Lynch got me in with sedation and everything was great. The hygienist Karen is amazing and Dr. Lynch assistants Zakia and Mike are wonderful too. The front desk staff does a great job of making sure I always know about my appointments and always contact me if they need to reschedule. They also were really quick with submitting my insurance and making sure that I got my reimbursement. I never have to wait over 5 minutes in the waiting room also which a huge plus for me with my busy schedule. I had issues with my tooth at the back for a long time. The filling in this tooth wasnt done properly because the food was getting stuck everytime when I was eating. I was complaining to my old dentist for years, she kept telling me she is going to fix it. But nothing was fixed. Then a friend recommended Dr. Lynch's office. I got scheduled pretty fast. And, OMG, one visit and it was fixed. Dr. Lynch showed me the Xray and actually the old filling was sticking out from the tooth and it was between the teeth so thats why food was getting stuck. I had no idea about it. I was very happy how the appointment went. I was informed about the treatment details. I even got a short massage from the assistant while Dr. Lynch was numbing me. Beware of the billing practices of this office. It was approximately one year ago that i visited his office for a cleaning and check up. Based on the check up, Dr. Lynch recommended a filling and mouth guard to the tune of approximately $2500. At the time, he was requiring payment up front so i paid in full prior to leaving my check up. Due to extenuating circumstances, I did not wish to have his office complete the work. An appointment was never scheduled for the work and no refund was ever issued. I am still chasing this money and will likely have to resort to small claims court to resolve.
