So with Dr. Ing there, I would've rated these guys a 5. But with Dr. Ing no longer there, this place is a disaster without him. Carla at the front desk is so rude. She is never nice, not even when booking an appt. She talks over you and rushes you. She will even hang up on you. The other front desk girls are new and very pleasant but they really don't know what they doing. Dr. Ing would give me an estimate and these girls would try to run a way more expensive bill claiming this and that needs to be done which wasn't required by my Dr. It makes me so nervous every time I have a procedure done because I am charged so many different amounts varying from one associate to the next. Dental World had an office in Kaneohe which recently closed. They advertised Dr Tony Kim as a holistic dentist. He replaced crowns that did not need to be replaced and charged me $9,000+. The crowns broke within weeks and needed to be replaced by another dentist. Dr Kim and Myra Dumancas-Kaya, their Kapolei office manager agreed to reimburse me $6,454.48 for the failed work. Been looking for a new dentist since ours just retired this year. Then the unthinkable happens while I have no dentist: my crown came out. Called Dental World and they were able to see me the next day! Great people working up front, made us feel welcome. And after a short wait, Dr. Ing came checked my xrays and patiently explained what he would be doing, then went about it like a real Pro. Dr Ing is so awesome and extremely thorough! He has the kindest eyes when he speaks to you and you can tell that he truly cares about his patients. It makes me happy just to see him. There is another dentist there that I also adore, but I can't remember his name. He's in his 40's, but looks a lot younger and he is SUCH a nice man. He is patient and answered any questions I had the last time I saw him. Shannon is my girl!! From the moment I met her, she immediately put me at ease and I just appreciate her so much for that. She is super funny and she makes coming to the dentist fun. I just met Ilah yesterday and feel like we are automatic besties lol. Her personality is so warm and you can tell that she is genuinely a sweet soul. There are so many other staff members whose names I don't know but are truly kind and make the whole practice feel good. And there's no way that I could have a complete review of this amazingly wonderful establishment without mentioning the sweet girls at the front desk! They are the first impression of the business and they go above and beyond to help patients book appointments and find out whether or not their insurance will cover various procedures. They are beautiful and kind and know how to make you feel at home. Even if my hubby and I decide to move to another part of the island, we will drive the distance to make sure that the only dentist we ever have is Dental World in Kapolei. This place isn't the same as it used to be. They don't seem to maintain their facilities very well or often. The last time I came here, one of their water pump machines was leaking all over the floor into a puddle, which could become a huge safety hazard. This time, the dentist noted that they think their suction machine is clogged as it wasn't sucking very well. While getting a filling, the dental assistant was shoving the suction tube down my throat to the point where it was triggering my gag reflex. I'm not a fan of how they practice dentistry here either. Around year ago, I told them that I was experiencing pain in the upper left area. They told me that my teeth were perfectly fine and that it's probably just stress and me grinding my teeth. The next time I came back, they told me I had cavities in the exact same area I was complaining about and that it had spread to neighboring teeth. While getting my filling today, they seemed to go further than normal with the numbing injections, which made it much more difficult for me to swallow. They also pinched my lips with their clasping tool, which seems like a careless mistake as well. Dentist's response was don't worry, there's not bruising (dealing having literally broken my skin). I've been passed around by three different dentists and the lack of consistency is upsetting. I don't normally say this in reviews, but I really don't think I'll be coming back anymore. read more

The location is conveniently placed in my area, has lots of parking and all the dentists are great and every knowledgeable. Erin is an excellent Dental Hygienist and I learned a lot from this one visit for my annual cleaning today. They all made my double root canal with crowns a fairly painless process. The mouth-cam is especially helpful as it shows exactly where the weak spots are located. I went today and was very anxious due to previous experiences. The dentist and his assistant were so sweet and patient with me! They tried distraction tactics and comforting me while they were working. The dentist was also explaining what he was doing while he was doing it to soothe me. He listened to my concerns with the novacane injection and tweaked it according to my issues from before. It was such a good experience. I went in feeling anxious and worried but left feeling like they cared about my experience and care. I went to him few years back to get my mother a new denture. He initially promised to make sure when its done, he'll make sure my mom's denture was comfortable without additional fee. Well, that was a lie. I paid it off in one payment since I trusted him and it wasn't cheap since my mom didn't have dental insurance. It was rather expensive but I trusted him and paid it off in one payment. After dentute was made, my mom was in pain and wasn't comfortable with it so we went back immediately to fix the issue.Ater seond visit, his office started to charge us again for our visit even thoigh he promised us he will not charge us to fix the issue. We ended up paying to go to another dentist since my mom didn't trust him anymore and so did I. Big money was wasted down the drain. It's like buying a car from mechanic and you find the problem next day and when you go back to fix the issue,mechanic charges you for the car he sold. I've learned a big lesson. Never pay your paymrnts in full until the work he's done is good. read more

My husband scheduled a last min appt here because this was the only place that had opening same week. Only reason why I'm giving two stars instead of just one is because the girl that answered the phone was very nice and professional over the phone when I had called to schedule. My husband was soooooooo mad after the doctor did his temporary filling. Doctor said it's just temporary come back and he'll make it look better - umm helloooooo fucking temp or not it's money and the temp one that was put in makes it look hella dumb. He works with people everyday and this was a major issue ‍ save your money and go somewhere else or try it for yourself see if you get better luck. I went here for my wisdoms to be removed, they did amazing, loved the receptionist at the time, her name was Tatiana, she made it possible for me to do a payment plan as to see since I wasn't able to pay in full the time of, which is an amazing thing. Then I had to go back to remove a few cavities, the new receptionist I don't know his name, was an asshole, literally no customer service at all, he should've informed me that i'd have to pay the bill up front (800+ ) for a few cavities, and told me, "we don't do payment plans, never did." How do you expect a 19 year old at the time pay for that kinda of bill. Really if you don't, you should highly consider doing payment plans, and to inform your patients how much they need to pay when getting their teeth done, not after. read more

I've been coming for some time. The place looks small but they are good. The tech is amazing for x-rays that it's so much easier and less stressful on having mouthful of clamps or cardboard holding position. They show your X-ray and problems on big screen for those of us with senior eyesight. Cleaning, fillings and crowns are done quickly and painlessly. Even reattaching if an old crown loses grip. I'm very satisfied with them. I should have moved to them earlier and saved the wear and tear on my truck at the old dentist. Now that I'm retired, it makes my drives and time, so much better, and while I miss my old dentist and staff, the Dentist & staff are just as nice, qualified and competent. read more

They have such a simple modern look and all of their tools are up to date, and least intrusive. My oldest daughter has anxiety, so if you do too you should come here. Trust me when I say that I've been searching for a dentist FOREVER... Since we're pretty new to Kapolei, I didn't really know who to go with (so many choices on yelp). I opened each location, checked our websites and looked at photos. I have this weird thing where I need to feel like the dr & staff need to have "trustworthy" faces. After all, they get pretty close & personal. I browse all day looking at photos of dentists to see if I can find "that face" lol. When I found dental world, I had no idea they were newly opened (august 2017). Oddly enough I didn't even care that they only had two reviews. I took the chance and called...Quentin answered the phone. After a few words, it felt as if I was talking to a friend And not just a "cranky receptionist." I was able to make appointments for both my husband and I, it was seamless. The day came for our appointments and I was scheduled first. I had to fill out some paperwork (history etc) then Erin the dental hygienist welcomed me to the back. She gave me a mini tour...everything was very modern and ...clean. X-rays were taken of my teeth and sitting in the dental chair, Erin explained my x rays before she started the cleaning. We had pretty good conversation throughout and she explained every step to prep me ahead of time. I didn't experience any pain! Once the cleaning was done, Dr Ing came in to do his "exam" on me. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. He reiterated what Erin said (I'm glad everyone's on the same page) and checked me for all types of things, he didn't just look in my mouth and go. They gave me a heads up on my "plan of care" and what to possibly expect in the future and what to do until then. I felt very informed and comfortable. At the end Tatiana explained each charge to me & what insurance covered etc. she was very friendly. I know I tend to ramble but this place is great! I've been trying for months to call & email my usual dentist Gentle Dental in Makakilo to make an appointment and never heard back. Found Dental World on Yelp and saw all the positive reviews. Read a few comments and made an appointment on their website and I got a call back the very next day. The dental office was very clean. It was my first time there so I had to fill out the usual 1st timer paperwork. They took me in right away to start my x-rays and my exam and cleaning followed shortly after. The staff starting with the receptionist to the lady taking my x-rays to the dental assistant DeAnne that did my cleaning and to the dentist that came in to examine my teeth and go over everything were very friendly & courteous. Already setup my next appointment. This will definitely be my new dental office from now on. read more

This was the first visit to Dental World for my 93-year-old mother. The treatment area was clean, organized and large enough for a wheelchair. Dr. Kang was thorough, compassionate and patient while treating my mom. He explained, in detail, the status of my mom's condition and the options available for treatment. Dental assistant Chris was super in treating my mom gently. This was a difficult task as Chris transported my mom from her wheelchair to the dental chair and lifted her back to her wheelchair after treatment. Don't mess with Chris! After having a traumatic experience with my military dentist I avoided the dentist for a bit after I got out. I was recommended by my coworkers to visit this location. One of my crowns broke and needed a consultation to see what was going on. After getting the results they informed me that I needed to get work done by Dr. Hoshino (Endodontist) and Dr. Ing. Dr. Hoshino worked on two root canals. I've never done two in one sitting but I wanted to get it done asap. My procedure went very well and aside from having to sit in a chair for almost four hours they made it as comfortable as possible. After getting that done, I came in two weeks later to finish up some work. Met with Dr. Ing a couple days after to put my temporaries in and permanent crowns molded. Both were very nice, professional, and very conscience about making me feel at ease and comfortable during the procedure. Overall, very welcoming and professional environment. Happy I found one that I can go back to for my normal check ups and more. Lots of parking being located in the shopping center (usually a deal breaker for me if it sucks). This was our first visit for my bride and I to Dental World. We required a dental scaling and checkup, which was aptly performed by the attending Dental Hygienists, Erin and Stacie with the examination performed by Dr. Yoo DDS. What a pleasant surprise to be warmly welcomed and ushered to our respective examination areas on time. We found all personnel minding the social distancing rules and suited-up with the appropriate personal protective equipment. Although the scaling process is never pleasant, both Hygienists were great at their tasks, resulting in a pleasant experience and a quality job that left our tooth surfaces whiter and smooth. Our only recommendation is for the requested 7 pages of questions/releases to be emailed to us prior to the visit so as not to be rushed upon arrival. read more

Erin is awesome I highly recommend her she's very thorough and gentle and always ask how you are doing. Glad to have her back as my dental hygienist.
