She is never nice, not even when booking an appt. She talks over you and rushes you. She will even hang up on you. The other front desk girls are new and very pleasant but they really don't know what they doing. Dr. Ing would give me an estimate and these girls would try to run a way more expensive bill claiming this and that needs to be done which wasn't required by my Dr. It makes me so nervous every time I have a procedure done because I am charged so many different amounts varying from one associate to the next. My family has been going there for many years, but we will follow Dr. Ing to his new location! He is the best!

Got a 2nd opinion and it turns out I don't need a root canal at all! It is horrible that a dentist would make you go through the anguish and worry that I did just to fill his pocketbook. Go with your gut especially when they tell you that you need all this work done upon the first visit. Additionally, while waiting, I was already suspicious when I overhead the front desk telling another patient all the work that needed to be done on their teeth. . My husband was also charged for fluoride when he specifically stated he did not want fluoride. When confronted later per FSA card and why it was not clearly stated on the form, they say it is a treatment plan and included. This is a scam. Dental offices always ask you if you want it or not, they don't just go ahead and charge you upfront when you clearly state you don't want it! Then they email with a confusing email that made no sense for why they charged it. I have to question if my son even had a cavity at all now, and they just wanted to do a procedure that was not needed for money. Beware they will do unnecessary procedures and do a whole act of how horrible your teeth are to scare you into procedures and/or bill you for services not rendered or denied. You have been warned!

They are located next door to the Kapolei post office. Street parking is limited but there are free parking in the building. Saturday's are my appointment days and it's so convenient since I live in the area. I surely recommend Dr. Liu and his staff.

They needed to verify the insurance prior to the appointment to provide service. When I showed up to the location for my appointment they asked for all of the same information I provided a week prior. I told the representative that that was provided a week earlier in three different phone calls. I really felt bad for the nice representative she told me they did not have any information and sometimes the answering service takes information. This type of practice is unacceptable. Dr. Alcantra should get ZERO stars, among other things. My first visit with Dr. Alcantra went perfectly fine back in 2014, and I followed up with her for another cleaning in 2015. Prior to seeing her though I checked reviews here and all but one was pretty good. It was after my adult daughter started having dental work done with Dr. Alcantra (under my plan) that almost everything seemed to go downhill on the doctor's end, from unprofessionalism to some questionable charges and forever changing estimates with no explanation as to why changes were made, including failing to offer cheaper alternatives such as amalgams instead of composites (silver vs. white fillings). Since we haven't had any fillings we didn't even know there were options! I couldn't believe the things that I was hearing from daughter about Dr. Alcantra, and I googled her to find that MANY other previous patients had similar issues with this dentist, but their reviews were on google. Now if my daughter didn't go to Dr. Alcantra at all, of course my review here would be a five-star raving one. Unfortunately my daughter went to her appointments on her own, and I feel like she was taken advantage of because she trusted the dentist and didn't feel as if there were any reason not to. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the staff was perfectly fine during our visits, collectively. But Dr. Alcantra is a different story. As I write this review there is currently one outstanding complaint against Dr. Alcantra, filed in 2017. I'm not sure how long before my complaint will show up on DCCA's website.

It is FRAUDULENT to charge someone in the state of Hawaii for a service they denied and was never provided. I will be filing a complaint against HFD with DCCA and RICO for billing me for a service that was refused. Thanks to fraudulently billing me for a refused service, my FSA card was locked for nearly 3 months..
