I was able to get my elderly neighbor with a fractured tooth (she had no pain) an appointment for only 2 weeks from the call when all of the other dentists I called couldn't see her for months. Lish at the front desk could not have been more lovely and helpful. The Dr. was great and explained every option, and we were offered the cost of all options before we scheduled a follow-up with the oral surgeon. The office is light and bright and very clean. We'll see how it goes with the oral surgeon next week. Would recommend! One note: This place is on the higher cost side compared to my local dentist in West Chester. read more

WARNING: This is a for-profit corporation. I've been there three times, and each time, a different dentist finds something that needs to be further looked at. For example, the first time, it was a possible cracked upper molar. The next, a possible cracked lower molar. The third, eroding gums in one quadrant--agast! Their business is to make money at the patient's expense. There are other dentists in the area who have been in practice for years and who will give you the decent care you deserve. I am posting on behalf of my mother as a warning to others: avoid Dentists at Hyde Park Plaza in Cincinnati, especially Dr. Zainab Bhagat. I'm a dual Medicare/Medicaid patient. They removed all my teeth, then gave me dentures made from molds taken before the extractions. I couldn't use them. They never fit. I returned many times in pain, with bone spurs, and they kept promising adjustments -- but nothing ever worked. Meanwhile, my insurance paid them for services I never received. I lost 60 pounds, missed important family events, and had to take out a loan to fix their mistakes. When I went for a second opinion, I found out the process was done all wrong from the start. And they're still trying to bill me. This office takes advantage of people -- especially older, lower-income patients like me. If you value your health or your dignity, please stay far away. read more

This place is very fishy. Clearly a business first and an establishment with the goal of providing Healthcare second. I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance and was randomly called by the staff asking to change the date and time. When I was initially asked over the phone I was admittedly caught by surprise for request of rescheduling. The admin staff over the phone quickly shot over an excuse, "the doctor has a passing in the family, prompting this request sir." Well when you put it like that, yeah sure I'll definitely reschedule. Sure enough I get to the office on my new time and date. I am sitting in the examination chair and the dentist and I have a brief discussion. The way it navigated, it was appropriate for me to wish my condolences for the death. He looked at me, surprised. Literally scoffed, "what?" He had no death in his family. Ah, so I was lied to in the most extreme ways to reschedule an appointment. Who lies about death? Apparently this business. Well this was followed in this instance with me needing new safety equipment. As some people have the insight, I know that my insurance is quite generous to the places I get Healthcare. In this instance, the office staff literally made a comment on the quality insurance I have, referring to it as, "very good.". I asked given the extreme quality (i.e. generous reimbursement) if they would consider waiving my out of pocket expenses. Huh! Suddenly my high quality insurance wasn't good enough. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR DENTAL WORK. THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND THE DENTISTS ARE INCAPABLE OF DOING A DESCENT JOB. And if anybody's curious why there might be "no wait" as specified in at least one earlier review, you might want to consider that's because this place is HORRIBLE. I went to have a follow up with their endodontist, Dr Thompson on 1/17/25....I've had serious complications following multiple procedures that I had done at THIS OFFICE, and the endodontist did not take me seriously. He treated me like I was seeking opioid drugs when I tried to discuss the ongoing pain that I'm having around the site that he operated on. I think I am experiencing a case of shingles after having a root canal, and as one of the primary caretakers of my dad (who is immunocompromised with leukemia) instead of addressing my serious concerns and the underlying issue, Dr Thomson told me that me and my dad were "in his thoughts and prayers". Do not go to any of the dentists at this office either. They do horrible work and instead of referring you to an endodontist, they have Dr Thompson fly in from another state to do poor dental work where he does not take his patients claims seriously and instead offers them "thoughts and prayers" as a legitimate solution to the claims they should be taking seriously. I literally cannot believe the way I have been treated by both the employees and the dentists at this establishment. I had a filling come out last April and I couldn't get into my normal dentist for 7 days, but happened to come here and have a cap put on the tooth with the missing filling. The dentist messed up the first cap, then messed up the second cap, tried to fix the second cap by drilling g the tooth next to it and putting a filling into it to close the gap from an improperly installed cap....i go to my normal dentist for routine cleaning and they tell me that the dental work I had done was horrible and that I needed a root canal. I go back to A DIFFERENT DENTIST at this place, and then she tries to convince me to let her re-do the cap. I had to have my normal dentist send in "a referral" after arguing with the front desk to schedule the root canal bc I guess this establishment thinks it's appropriate to dismiss the claims of their patients....none of the dentists in house were competent enough to suggest the proper procedure to me, and then after I get the root canal done, a third and final dentist managed to improperly place ANOTHER CAP on the same tooth, and despite the fact that the third dentist, Dr Ali, told me that sometimes the caps are not filed down properly because of slight jaw misalignment due to anesthesia, they somehow thought that it was appropriate to not schedule a follow-up, SO I THEN SUFFERED FROM FURTHER COMPLICATIONS THAT LED TO ME LOSING MY JOB. And this isn't even the entire story. I've shortened it so that you can be aware of how horrible this place is, I'm tempted to look up who owns this establishment because I still can't believe I haven't been reimbursed for the initial cap that the first dentist botched! Ive been in pain for weeks and ive lost A LOT of sleep, and I can assure you that there's one dude hygienist here with a tatted sleeve that's kind and caring but everyone else has been absolutely horrible. I really enjoyed my visit at Dentists at Hyde Park! I was recently in the plaza leaving Starbucks and saw they had a new client special for a cleaning and x-rays for $59 and I figured why not! I proceeded to book an appointment online which was extremely convenient. You can easily sign up for a time and even fill out your patient information prior to arrival... which can be a time saver! Once I arrived at my scheduled appointment I was impressed with everything from start to finish. The waiting area is very clean and has plenty of drink options including coffee and water (never considered coffee before a cleaning, but to each their own lol). When it was time for the appointment I first met with my dentist, Dr. Hampton, in the consultation room and he went over what I could expect for the day and asked me some general questions regarding my oral health. I was then taken to a different room so I could have the xrays completed by the technician. Let me say this, they have some high tech machines! Definitely state of the art equipment that left me confident they were getting a good picture of my mouth. Not to mention they physically take pictures of your mouth. After that I was taken to the procedure room where I sat comfortably waiting for Dr. Hampton. While I waited I was able to watch my own personal tv and control the channel and volume. Nice touch! The actual cleaning is what you can expect! Dr. Hampton does a thorough job and is sure to explain each step with you. Even with the minor issues I had we discussed a treatment plan moving forward. I felt confident that he really cared about me as a patient and was giving me excellent care. Even at the end of the day he extremely personable and patient. Honestly EVERYONE at the office was so friendly and helpful. From the desk staff to the technicians to the actual dentists. I will be sure to return and I highly recommend checking them out!!! Oh yeah, they do have an in house dental plan for those without dental insurance! So try to take advantage of the new client special but if you miss it a visit here is still affordable! read more

Steer clear! My experience was nightmarish. There was a woman of color in the ads and I was like, I'll support her. Then, I got there and everybody is white. Catfished. I was also surprised at how young everybody was. I didn't want to be ageists, so I stayed a customer. I had seen them for a couple of cleanings and two crowns. The second crown was a year after the first one, and they quoted me hundreds of dollars more than the prior one. I asked if they would match the price of the prior one and they did. The second crown fell off less than a year after it was put in. I went to another dentist who fixed it, but said it was temporary and that id have to get it replaced in the future. My family pressured me to call Hyde Park Dentistry to get a refund or some sort of compensation because they didn't deliver on their product/service. It was such a bad experience that I just wanted to wash my hands of them. My aunt also had a bad experience with a crown and they refunded her. Just keep bothering them. Before this nonsense happened, I had referred my boyfriend there. When the hygienist found out what neighborhood we lived in, she asked if we were polyamorous, because a lot of her friends who live in that area are. So much cringe. I can't imagine how much harm they've done to the people of Cincinnati if these are the experiences that me and my loved ones have had in the two years of being customers there. read more

If you think you're getting a teeth cleaning for $59, that's a trick to get you into the office with Xrays, etc. You'll be approached with a sophisticated synopsis that comes out with a $4000 estimate. I didn't even get the $59 cleaning. I was told that the simple cleaning would not help. They wanted me to do the upgraded cleaning. All they want to do is get in your wallet. I've been loyal to this practice for a few years. Had well over $8,000 worth of work done. In 3 years not once have they saved my dental insurance and make a huge deal about it each time. Came in for my 6 month visit and they told me my dentist left and they sent me a message (they never emailed me or called to let me know.) Came in for the next available date they had and they hadn't saved insurance. Waited in chair for 30 minutes then left. Customer service and quality should be every practices goal. This practice can't seem to keep their dentists and is very poorly run. Don't recommend. read more

As a new patient who's new to the Cincinnati area, this place was truly amazing & I cannot recommend it enough. The staff is incredibly friendly & I got an appointment quick! I did everything online to begin with and checking in was smooth. For the first visit, Dr. Hampton was very thorough and incredible nice though the check up. The dental hygienist, Molly was also extremely knowledgeable as well! For my cleaning today, I didn't experience too much pain & learned a lot about my dental health that other dental offices did not inform me before. The atmosphere is calming and it's in a great area of Cincinnati. I actually look forward to going here since it's in a shopping plaza I'm so used to going to. I cannot begin to explain how great this business is! All of the staff are very professional and amiable. My dentist is Dr. Zainab Abdulhusen Bhagat and she is so kind and very attentive. I've had a couple dental hygienists there as well and they are really the best I've ever seen. The building and supplies are clean and new. I'm forced to believe that the "Dentists at Hyde Park", are young, inexperienced, and running a practice with faulty software. They may be overcharging and over-treating​ their patients. Here is what happened to me today. I took the 'Dentists at Hyde Park Plaza' (DatHP) up on their $59 offer for Cleaning, Exam, and Digital X-rays. They are new. I lost my dental insurance this year and decide to try them out. Also, much more convenient​ for me than going downtown as I have for years. They seem to have the latest equipment and did complete X-rays (full head, and 4 bite-wings), dental exam, including PERIO chart of pocket depths for all my teeth. Results: Dr. John said I have Stage II - Moderate Periodontitis (based on many tooth depth readings in the 4 and 5mm range) and also had a molar (#19) that need to be removed and a crown placed because it was in bad shape, too big for the tooth, and had signs of decay. Dr. John and the whole staff was very patient with my questions and spent lots of time explaining my condition to me. They then showed me the suggested treatment plan and cost of $3445. They did have a "My Smile Dental Plan" for $111 that would reduce the cost to $2051. Actually, it was originally about $2400 until I questioned why the cost of the crown was only reduced from $1502 to $1402 with the "Plan". Seems the software is not working correctly. By the end of this session (1 hour and 15 minutes), I was being to feel uncomfortable. Also, wondering if I was going to get the cleaning done. They said that because they were recommending the Periodontitis treatment, it would replace the standard cleaning. But they would be happy to do the cleaning if I wanted it. Also, because of my condition, they said my standard twice-yearly​ cleanings would be replaced with quarterly Periodontic Maintenance visits. I decided I should leave and think about it all. Back at the office, I decided I needed a second opinion and made an appointment later the day with my normal (downtown) dentist who I have been seeing for over 10 years. Also, I still wanted to get my teeth cleaned. At my downtown dentist, the hygienist​ at my request completed another set of pocket depth measurements. She came up with just 3 teeth with 5mm pockets, DatHP came up with 19. Also, my dentist had prior years numbers to compare to and although it showed some degradation​ of the last 2 years, some teeth actually were better. The dentist came in and verified​ the measurements at my request. She then examined my​ teeth and found that one of my molars had cracks​ down two sides and I was in danger of it breaking off. She suggest it get crowned immediately. This was not the #19 molar that DatHP had identified, but #14. I asked her what she thought of #19 because it had been recommended to be replaced with a crown. She double-checked​ and said it looked good. As full disclosure, this office had done the most recent work on #19, replacing the old silver filling with the new white ones​. Without insurance, I paid $139 for the cleaning and exam downtown. DatHP did not charge me anything. My downtown dentist quoted me a no insurance price of $1277 for the crown on #14. The no insurance price of the crown on #19 by DatHP was $1502. My downtown dentist also recommended I come back and get fitted for a tooth guard for grinding my teeth after I got the crown. That will be $565. (Went ahead and ordered a DIY set of 5 from Amazon for $21, and will see if those work first.) The DatHP did not mention my teeth grinding. All of the information above is meant to be factual. I'll post pictures if Yelp lets me. I realize that in all health care there will be different professional opinions. How could 2 different practices present me with such different findings? DatHP had plenty of opportunities​ to really upset me (sell me teeth whitening, showed any reluctance to give me the cleaning for $59, tell me my teeth were going to fall out, etc.) which did not happen. So, I'm only left to feel that although my periodontal condition is probably not perfect, DatHP really do think I need the $2k worth of treatment. My dentist disagrees at this time. I think I have to also disagree. To support this, I hit google and found that "Pockets deeper than 4 mm may indicate periodontitis." But, the main symptoms are "swollen" "tender" "easy to bleed" gums. (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/periodontitis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20354479) I do NOT have these problems. I'm left to believe that the "Dentists at Hyde Park", are young, inexperienced, and running a practice with faulty software (prices were messed up). If it was possible to give this place a NEGATIVE 5 star I would. I have honestly never had as bad as an experience as I did with the Dentist at Hyde Park Plaza. From the first time I stepped foot into this place it was a complete nightmare. My root canal turned into the dr. actually drilling to far and going into my sinus cavity causing a large amount of pain and discomfort for a few months until this was discovered. After this I have since had to have my tooth removed which the entire process took over a year. I have sat in their waiting room for multiple hours on multiple occasions. At one time I waited 3 hours to be seen. I have showed up to appointments at 7:30 in the morning to find out my appointment was canceled and I was never informed. I was then transferred to another dentist that was "in there system" so I could finally have a tooth put in my mouth. After I got my tooth I then had to start the battle of me being billed by the other dentist for the tooth which at one point got sent to collections. This is honestly a very brief description of the horrible experience I had with The Dentist at Hyde Park. Please take my advice STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! read more

Came for my appointment at 11, only to realize it had been cancelled. According to the receptionist, a phone call had been made. However, no message was left on my phone regarding this matter. I'm disappointed especially since I had to take off work to be there. There were no other available appointments for the rest of the day. I was able to reschedule that same week but I'm upset there wasn't much flexibility or sincerity from the staff. I hope this type of matter is handled better next time. read more

I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. My experience has left me weary of dental offices. The accounts management team is completely disorganized. Every single time I went in for a visit, I was told I owed more money from the previous visit. I was never given a decent explanation nor appropriate itemized bills. The last straw was when I received a call out of the blue that I owed money from a procedure from over a year ago! "They just realized the error",.... Okay. I've had the procedure done at another dental office and it cost me $150, I had already paid close to $800 to them over the past year for said procedure and now they want $500 more. That's 4x what the original estimate was, but they just replied it's only an estimate and depends on insurance, okay. That excuse would be understandable if the total was a couple hundred more. Their estimate was 100% inaccurate. The office never checked with my insurance company to confirm coverage, which goes back to the complete disorganization and poor professionalism on their part. I repeatedly asked for itemized bills which I never received. My smile account charges never added up to the amount specified. My account did not even have the correct insurance company listed. I never received explanations for any of this. I work in the healthcare field and if I treated my clients like this I would be run out of business. I truly believe that the error was theirs, it was their job to confirm coverage with my insurance company and they did not, they should have written off the charge from OVER a year ago, instead they acted like a bunch of crooks. I honestly feel so taken advantage of. Please do not go here, or if you do, don't trust them, call your insurance company yourself to go over coverage and costs of procedures, ask for itemized bills before paying them anything, that's assuming they will even give you one. But honestly there are far better places to go for your dental health, I wish I wouldn't of taken the first place that could get me in. read more

The doctor was good the assistants were good but the receptionist (?) was so nasty. I give people the benefit of the doubt. Everyone has a bad day but everytime we've gone in, three times, she has been hateful to us, other patients and coworkers.
