I never thought I would leave a dentist vowing never to return, but here I am. I had a root canal and the endo, Dr. Orozoco was the rudest health provider I have ever encountered in my 50 years of life, and hopefully will never have an experience like this ever again. I've had doctors that didn't want to be there, that were annoyed, and were short, but this was extreme-- it was very obvious she did not in any way shape or form want to be working with me and I was a complete pain in her ass. I was charged 300 for an endo consult which just amounted to her telling me that I had to have a root canal it was unavoidable. The 300 consult was about 5 seconds. Before I knew it she was numbing me and it was really painful. She was super annoyed. She had me bite down on a bite guard and yelled at me when it kept slipping. She finally took it out and said, "okay, forget that. Just keep you mouth open." When I needed to spit because I was going to start coughing, I raised my hand and she was like, "WHAT? I can't hear you. What are you saying? What? What?" followed with a huge annoyed sigh. No kidding you can't understand me with all this shit in my mouth. Occasionally she would hit me, and say, "Are you okay Michelle? Michelle? Michelle? ANSWER." While I was being tortured, I remembered my last root canal over 12 years ago, and how nice and kind the endo was, how he talked to me and was caring. I was literally terrified of this person working on me and I don't think I stopped shaking the entire time. I was TERRIFIED of her-- the assistant she had with her was just as cold and uncaring. Worst experience of my entire life with healthcare providers. And super strange. At one point in time during the root canal she started singing to the music that was playing. I had some hope that maybe she would be in a better mood and nicer to me, but no. The assistant also stopped being nice at some point, and would silently come over and jam an X-ray in my mouth, take the x-ray and take it out of my mouth WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. Absolutely worst experience with a healthcare provider in my life, and I will NEVER go back there. Ever. It was also really choatic and there was no sense of any type of leadership or anyone in charge. It was just people running all around and lined up to use x-rays, rooms, tools, etc. Total disaster. I miss my previous dentist who was so sweet and made small talk to make me comfortable. There were also no sinks in the patient rooms or place to spit, so it makes me wonder seriously where and how they are washing their hands and how clean they are. There should DEFINITELY be a sink in each room for handwashing. read more

Dr. Stephen is very rude. I witnessed him reprimand his staff on multiple occasions and do not support establishments that allow this.

I recently had my first visit to Dentists of Chamblee after a long lapse in my periodontal checkups due to my previous office closing and the difficulty of finding another provider. From the moment I walked in, the experience was outstanding! The gentleman at the front desk was welcoming , and as Imani, who took my X-rays and went out of her way to make sure I was scheduled for my cleaning...she's amazing. Dr. Williams was an absolute sweetheart, very professional and kind. My hygienist Ms. Johnson (Makayla) did an excellent job with my cleaning, making me feel completely at ease. If you have apprehensions about getting a periodontal cleaning Ms. Johnson is the one for you, she's the best ever! I also met the business manger, Ms. Smith who was very pleasant! Everyone was warm, professional and truly cares about their patients. I was skeptical because of old reviews, but clearly, things have changed-this is a 5 star experience ALL THE WAY!!!! read more

Had periodontal care in December 2019. They seemed very knowledgable, but like a lot of people in the reviews have said, they seem very focused on squeezing every penny out of you. The staff is nice, but not very personable. There was a lot of pressure to move forward with the VERY expensive treatment (periodontitis cleaning) and I felt like i had no other choice but accept it. I truly felt like nothing but a paycheck for them. They charged me $100 just for "Oral Hygiene Instructions". UPDATE(2020): I went to several other dentist and was told that I DO NOT have periodontitis. I was basically swindled out of $2,500. DO NOT GO HERE. They pray on your fears and pressure you to do procedures that you don't need. read more

I have had 3 interactions with the Dentists of Chamblee and only 1 was good. Awhile back I need to have my crown, done by another dentist, put back on (i.e., re-glued), instead the Dentists of Chamblee wanted to remake the crown which would have added significant costs to my bill. Needless to say I went back to the dentist that installed the crown and got it put back on for significantly less cost. The second bad interaction was today (10/14/2024). The Dentists of Chamblee are REQUIRING that patients use electronic records (i.e., myChart) software. This is a ridiculous requirement and does not take into account the many people without computers or cell phones. My dental services do not require the use of myChart as I am not having multiple providers treat my teeth. Due to the myChart requirement, I walked out of the office and did not get my teeth cleaned. My refusal to be seen by a dentist that REQUIRES the use of myChart in effect impacts the dentists pay for the day. I hope that others that feel as I do, let the Dentists of Chamblee know that the REQUIRING the use of myChart is an unacceptable practice that will narrow down the number of clients/patients that will go to the Dentists of Chamblee. Personally, I will not use the Dentists of Chamblee again. read more

I have here been 7x for the same tooth. I got a replacement filling I didn't even need, which turned into a crown, then a root canal. And my tooth STILL isn't right. I just don't feel like they know what they are doing- they couldn't fInd anything on the Xrays but still did all these procedures... and they aren't even done right. Updated! I being waiting for two weeks now to get my last cap replaced. When this dentist called me to make this appointment I told them that I had a 10:00 appointment and they gave me a 12:00 appointment. So my 10:00 appointment over lap my 12:00 appointment by 5 minutes, so I call my he dentist office to see can I come in which I was only 15 mins away and I was told no. Do not go to this office if you are pregnant! They say it is the LAW that in order to have a cleaning, My wife has to have x-rays. This is my wife's third pregnancy and she has had her teeth cleaned throughout both of her previous pregnancies and NEVER had an x-ray. They wanted her to agree to have an x-ray with a cover. This is absurd. They called 2 hours before her appointment to tell her this. It is December and now She is struggling to find an appointment before the new year. This dentist is not well trained, not gentle, nor nice. After an extraction, where he broke the tooth, and wreaked havoc on the gum and surrounding tissue, including my face and jawbone, he did not prescribe antibiotics. He prescribed 12-5mg hydrocodone. This should have been plenty, but it was not. After three days, in worse pain than before the extraction, I returned to the office. He asked how I was. I explained I was not good. I asked him to tell me as he is the dentist. He took an xray and said it appeared to be fine. He refused to manage my pain. I left and went directly to another dentist. The real dentist Dr Frank Roach in Norcross followed the same procedure to a point. Asked how I was, listened to my answer, took an x-ray and diagnosed a dry socket. The same day the dentist Dr. Hugnh of Dentists of Chamblee told me his company policy would not allow me to have pain relief without another procedure. Like I was going to allow him to touch my bruised and swollen face again! Dr Roach numbed me up, packed the socket, sewed me up, gave me antibiotics and stronger pain meds. Two days later, my pain is just minimal and diminishing. Please do not let Dr. Hugnh touch you or your children. My face is now beginning to go from black and blue to various shades of green and yellow. He, while telling me directions for post procedure told me the risks of a dry socket...I followed the instructions to a tee. He also told me there would be nothing to do if I ended up with a dry socket....GO BACK TO SCHOOL, PAY ATTENTION THIS TIME DR. HUGNH! read more

My next scheduled appointment was in August, they called to cancel same-day and said someone would be in touch to reschedule. I made the mistake of visiting Dentists of Chamblee in January 2019. I've been attending the same dentist for years, but decided to give Dentists of Chamblee a try due to its close proximity to my home. I booked an appointment for a cleaning. The hygienist, while very nice, did not seem knowledgeable about taking my X-rays. She had to redo many of them multiple times, and it seemed as though she was new to the job. I was exposed to unnecessary radiation as a result of her frequent mistakes. Once she was finally finished, I was moved to a different room, and the dentist, Dr. Patel, came in to tell me that I needed a scaling where they would go into my gums instead of having a regular cleaning because I had gingivitis. She also said I had three cavities that would need crowns. This was alarming to me because I get my teeth checked every six months, and I haven't had a cavity in years, so how did I all of a sudden not only have three cavities, but cavities that needed crowns AND need a deep scaling treatment for gingivitis?? I've always gotten regular cleanings from my other dentist, and both the dentist and the hygienist have told me that my teeth were in great condition. The dentist then tried to rush me to get the procedures, even trying to do all of that that same day. It was all extremely suspicious. Needless to say, I immediately left & proceeded to schedule a cleaning with my regular dentist, who was able to get me in 5 days later. I was able to have a regular cleaning, and once again, I was told that my teeth were in great condition. Complete opposite from what I was told by Dentists of Chamblee! Additionally, they somehow coded my X-ray procedure claim incorrectly to my Delta Dental insurance, and I was billed over $400 for the X-rays! Of course they said it was a mistake, & that I actually didn't owe them anything, but this is a mistake that my other dentist has never made, and it leads me to suspect them of insurance fraud considering all of the unnecessary treatments the dentist tried to have me get on my mouth. I can't imagine if I would've gotten all of that unnecessary work done. Dentists of Chamblee should be ashamed. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Your teeth with thank you. read more

I am posting this because my wife referred me to this office after she had a lot of worked done to her mouth. Well I started getting my mouth work done in September and here its February and all three of my caps came off and it only being 5 months.WOW!!!This dentist office need to order better produce that will work for there customers . My wife had the same issues with her caps coming off too. When the caps came off the clue or whatever they use to keep it on came off some days later. My wife have a cap on her front tooth ever since she was 17 teen and it never came off. I don't know what the hell is going on with this dentist office but I should have to pay out of pocket and get this time of service.I will allow them to try to fix the issue but after that I don't want to have anything else to do with this dentist office. I recently moved to Georgia 6 months ago and was looking for a new dentist office. When I made the appointment, I was told to block off two hours for my first cleaning in which they would take x-rays, provide consultation on how my teeth look and do a thorough teeth cleaning. They did a great job with the x-rays and provided me a consultation on the state of my teeth. But in a span of 6-7 minutes, I was bombarded numerous times with needing to make my follow up appointment. I was even told by one person that it doesn't matter if the date for the follow up appointment doesn't work for my schedule, I should just make it anyways. I had informed them that I would check my calendar first and call back later in the week to make my follow up appointment. After declining to make a follow up appointment, I was left waiting in the room for about 10 minutes. After which Dr. Choi returned to do the cleaning. Dr. Choi rushed through the cleaning and was done in less than 10 minutes (my teeth didn't feel clean or fresh at all). Dr. Choi seemed very preoccupied and didn't even notice or care that water was splashing from my mouth onto my shirt and arms. She took off the napkin hanging around my neck, again pushed for me to make a follow up appointment, handed me a bag and then said bye. It felt like they over schedule appointments.
