I set up an emergency appointment for a toothache and was able to be seen very early. The e-check up was very easy to use and I was able to get most of what I needed done right away. The office was clean, the staff were kind and patient and I was able to get my next appointment and next steps set up quickly. I definitely loved my visit and will be back.

When I went in staff told me I might need to start over to complete 3 pages or more of paperwork. When I said No, I wasn't interested in doing that (before staff found my initial paperwork to continue) the dentist said something audible (under his breath) in Tagolog in a derisive tone. There was also rap music playing with inappropriate curse words! The dentist did appear knowledgeable, however it seems your office pushes cosmetic dentistry. My estimates were quite high, whereas the Berkeley "Refresh" dentist I went to yesterday had a much lower estimate including a treatment plan to save teeth your office was going cap & crown. A 2.5 out of 5 rating. I know other educated professionals with high expectations most likely have the same experience. Ramona Mann MA

Over time, my family member has experienced a few frustrations that contributed to feeling unheard or not fully supported. One of those included calling multiple times over several weeks without receiving follow-up, though that was just one part of the overall experience. My first off-putting experience happened right when we walked in. There was no greeting, no hello, and no check-in--just brief eye contact followed by silence as they turned away. We weren't sure what to do, so we sat down. A few minutes later, my family member's name was called. While this may seem small, first impressions really matter and help set the tone for a visit. During our time there, I noticed another situation at the front desk that stood out. A client was waiting there for quite some time while staff were present. When he was finally acknowledged, he was asked, "Are you ok?" and then told, "Oh, I thought you were waiting for a ride." A simple greeting and asking how someone could be helped would have made the interaction feel much more welcoming. It wasted his time. After the client left, I overheard staff comment that "he could've said something." While that may have been said casually, clients shouldn't have to speak up just to receive assistance. The front desk is the first point of contact and sets the tone for the entire experience. I also overheard a phone call where the tone felt dismissive, with comments like "well, you called us, so I'm calling you back" and "I don't know what you need, you called us." After the call ended, there was further conversation between staff that seemed to make light of the situation and the patient. Hearing this while other clients were present felt uncomfortable. Overall, being attentive, welcoming, and mindful of tone and conversations--especially in shared spaces--goes a long way in making people feel respected and valued. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes it leads to a more positive experience for future patients. Since there's quite a bit of negative feedback here. This is your business-your name is on it. Your staff is a walking representation of you. They either help or negatively impact your brand. Customer service is a basic skill. Being kind, respectful, mindful and most importantly-professional, should be a non-negotiable. And based on the reviews, seems as though there is no accountably as the experiences seem to continue. Considering many of their patients may be senior citizens-there should be a standard with the overall experience provided. A standard to uphold and accountability.

I haven't had any work done yet, but. I got my record set up and I can always update further once I've actually had my first cleaning, fillings work, etc. The office is clean, bright, and nicely decorated. The doctor was very patient and friendly in explaining the treatment needed for my complicated dental situation.

I rarely leave reviews like this, but the way this office handled my appointment -- and especially…read morethe way the situation was handled once I arrived -- was completely unacceptable. I had a TWO-HOUR root canal appointment scheduled for August 31st. When the appointment was originally scheduled, I was specifically informed that if I needed to cancel or reschedule, I was required to give the office 72 hours' notice. Fair enough. I understood and respected that policy. Then, on August 25th, the office contacted me and offered me an appointment for that same afternoon. I explained that I couldn't make it that day, and the staff member told me, "We'll see you on the 31st." I said okay. At that point, there should have been absolutely no confusion about whether I intended to keep my appointment. Fast forward to Friday: I was at WORK and apparently missed their request to "confirm" my Monday appointment. I was later informed that because I did not respond between approximately 2:22 PM and 3:45 PM, they cancelled my TWO-HOUR appointment. Let that sink in. Patients are expected to provide this office 72 HOURS of notice to cancel or reschedule, yet this office apparently gave me approximately 83 MINUTES during a workday to respond before deciding I no longer wanted an appointment that I NEVER cancelled. I then drove OVER AN HOUR to this office Monday morning expecting to receive the treatment I had scheduled, only to find out after arriving that they had cancelled it. When I made it clear that I had come for my scheduled appointment and told them they needed to figure out how to accommodate me, the OFFICE MANAGER told me I would have to "sit in the lobby all day." Then the front desk employee told me, "Your insurance approved it, you might as well just come back another day." Excuse me? My insurance approving the procedure has absolutely nothing to do with the issue. My time matters. My work schedule matters. The gas and time spent driving over an hour to their office matters. The fact that I arranged my morning around a TWO-HOUR medical appointment matters. "You might as well come back another day" is an incredibly dismissive response to a problem that your office created. I did not miss my appointment. I did not cancel my appointment. I did not request to reschedule my appointment. I SHOWED UP FOR MY APPOINTMENT. The office cancelled it without my authorization because I did not respond to a confirmation request quickly enough while I was working. If a patient cancelled a two-hour appointment with 83 minutes' notice, would this office consider that acceptable? Of course not. Yet apparently that level of courtesy does not have to go both ways. And telling a patient who has already driven over an hour that they can either "sit in the lobby all day" or "come back another day" is not customer service. It is dismissive and disrespectful. Had I been clearly informed when scheduling that failure to respond to a confirmation message within a specific timeframe would automatically cancel my appointment, I would understand. But that was NOT the policy explained to me. The policy explained to me was that I needed to provide 72 hours' notice if I chose to cancel or reschedule. I honored my appointment. I showed up. This office did not. The root canal isn't even what left a bad taste in my mouth -- I never got far enough to have one.

I was also made aware that Dr. Jackie does ortho treatment and decided to schedule an appointment. Made the appointment for a cleaning and ortho consultation. On the day of my appointment I arrived on time. Everything seemed to be going smooth until I gave the receptionist my address. I was then interrogated with questions like "Why are you coming here" and "Why did you come back". There was no thank you for returning or we appreciate you being a loyal patient. Almost felt condemned about my choice to return. It caught me off guard but I explained how I liked Dr Jackie and how I really felt comfortable with her service. The receptionist kind of just stared and said "oh ok". I get to the back and I thought I was taking regular X-rays and I was told the images were for the ortho consult. I apologized for the confusion and explained that I moved forward with another Dr. for ortho and just needed the cleaning done. I also explained during a confirmation call that I no longer needed the ortho treatment just the cleaning. The hygienist returned with the receptionist and she said "I'm confused on why you're here". I explained again for cleaning services. She said "well you went to all these places how do we know if your insurance will cover the X-ray". I explained to her those Xrays were done by orthodontist and that's just a panel view not a dental X-ray and I paid for that out of pocket. She went on and on about my last dentist and you went to so many prior dentist and I don't understand why you're here. At that moment I didn't know why I was there allowing her to speak to me like a child. I said "can you call met life and see when the last submission for X-rays was". She said no and gave an exhausted explanation about her having to call my prior dentist. Mind you I went to one orthodontist who I moved forward with treatment with and my prior dentist who I mistaken my last appointment date. After I left I called met life to confirm all service submissions and come to find out I was actually seen the end of last year so none of my money was used nor has anyone submitted anything for payment. I'm sure the receptionist could've done that. Anyway, I told her I would reschedule and just her lack of professionalism threw me off. Does it matter if I drove from Brentwood? All you need to know is I like Dr Jackie and it's not coming out of your pocket. I sat in my car for five minutes going over in my head if I should walk away or stay and deal with the rude receptionist because I like Dr. Jackie's work. Just knowing I would have to deal with the receptionist made me walk back in thank her and told her I'll just keep my previous Dr. It was no "let me change your mind" no "how can we keep you as a patient". She has the nerve to wink and said okay. No care in the world. Wasted gas, toll and time. Worst part is I lost a great dentist like Dr.Jackie.
