The good: TVs available in each patient room (even one on the ceiling to watch while they work on your teeth), friendly staff with helpful recommendations The bad: long appt (2.25 hours for initial appt with X-rays, checkup, cleaning), lots of X-rays which I don't love The great: I hate that device they use that makes a terrible noise, my teeth are really sensitive to it; I told my hygienist that right away and she barely used it at all - it was so much more pleasant! AND she was able to get some staining off my two front teeth that had survived multiple visits to other dentists - I thought the stains were going to be there forever but they are completely gone now! Overall - good and great outweigh the bad. I was very pleased with the service and will be back! read more

Can only conclude from the great reviews that everyone is only having their teeth cleaned there. I was visiting the Chicago area when I got terrible pain and turned to this place based on reviews. First of all, pain management was non existent. The dentist couldn't get me numb and injected me at least 7 times, Nitrous oxide was not available there. There are TV's all over the place, but no closed caption. I asked for CC and the dental assistant said it was unavailable- it has been mandatory on all TV's and cable since 1998! He did the root canal in two appointments and never offered any type of pain killers. I was in pain for several days. The first temporary crown lasted. However, the permanent crown was another story. They needed to file down so much of the permanent crown to make it fit that a piece of the side of the crown, not the chewing surface broke off in two days . The second temporary broke in a week and took out another crown when I bit down on it. I finally got back to my regular dentist . The hygienist explained what they did wrong that caused all the crown problems and as my dentist said, it is pretty sad that my hygienist can diagnose the problem. That about sums it up. Unfortunately, it cost me the price of another crown. They are very nice guys until you question them or complain and then they get defensive. You may be safe going there for a teeth cleaning , but for other dental work try one of the other of the many dentists on the block. read more

I am not a good patient at the dentist- I'm so anxious that all my social skills go out the window. Dr. M does a nice job putting up with my anxiety and works with it by explaining what to expect and answering any questions I have. I have also had very positive experiences with the hygienists. Dentologie made a great referral to an oral surgeon when I had my wisdom teeth out and I really appreciated that. I actually think they try to be conservative with recommending procedures. Even with my irrational fear of all things dentist, I recommend giving this place a chance. read more

If you have any dental problems and come here, definitely get a second opinion before you sign up for treatment. I recently moved and was looking for a new dentist; this one had so many positive reviews that it was hard to resist. I had a cleaning on the first visit, and I was definitely impressed by all the glitz of the office. Everyone was very friendly, and the cleaning went well. At my second cleaning, despite having no symptoms whatsoever, I was told that one of my teeth "looked bad" and needed to be removed. I asked why I could not have a root canal if it was so bad, and they said it was not possible. They wanted to urgently sign me up for an extraction. I got a second opinion, and sure enough there is nothing wrong with this tooth. Having lots of TVs in the ceilings doesn't translate to good dental care! read more

Very friendly and professional staff throughout, from the receptionist who was patient while I had to make several calls to my insurance provider to the technician who did a very thorough job on my cleaning and the doctor. I will say that I was surprised at the number of X-rays taken, even though I'm a new patient. Sixteen total were taken and it was explained that some were a newer type that gets a better view between teeth. I was told that X-rays would be updated yearly. Still, I will be reading up on that as I would prefer to minimize exposures to me and cost to my insurance provider. It is a large and busy facility so I didn't get that 'extended family' feeling that I've had with past offices, but the service is certainly up to standard. read more

Only dentist I've seen in Chicago for a few years. I always ask for the same assistant. Only reason for 4 stars is they didn't notify me in advance one time that the dental assistant wasn't available that day. If you like your dental assistant I suggest asking for the same assistant they will make somewhat of an effort to give it to you. I'm particular about my teeth and like someone I can trust working on them. The dentists seem to really care and are nice. read more

I would like to give a shoutout to new dentist Dr. RJ Villa and his assistant Monica. I was dismayed to find out that I had my first cavities in 30 years during an appointment earlier this week. Knowing that I would likely chicken out, I scheduled for them to be filled yesterday. Dr. Villa and Monica had arguably the best bedside manner I've ever seen in a medical practice, in combination with flawless technique. I am really not exaggerating when I say that the whole thing was essentially painless and far exceeded my expectations. They took care to answer all of my questions, walked me through everything they were doing step-by-step, and encouraged me throughout the procedure. In combination with the beautiful, sparkling clean facilities and friendly administrative staff, this practice is one of a kind. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

They were extremely friendly on my first visit. They answered all the small questions I had with a smile on their face. Once I asked a question about insurance they were happy to answer and went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable. Their staff seem to be friends within themselves which is nice to see. Hands down the best dental experience i have ever had! I really dread going to the Dentist, but this experience has made me feel better about future dental visits! I had my appointment with Dr. M this past Thursday and It was so awesome that I had to come post about it! I first went to Dentologie back in December of 2013 for my first visit and cleaning it was great! I conveniently scheduled online and came in for my appointment. The receptionist Jan was awesome - she gave me a Ipad with a snazzy app to fill out my dental and medical history. I had some issues with my insurance and she was persistent in contacting them and making sure everything I needed was covered! The waiting area and office are beautiful! The appointment with Nika and Dr. M was great. Nika did a great job with the cleaning and was so friendly. Dr. M was awesome - He showed me areas of concerns and an area where I had a deep cavity and needed to get filled. I hate getting fillings and having to get numb - so I never scheduled a follow up appointment to get the filling. BAD IDEA! Fast Forward to Wednesday (6/25) of this week - 6 months after Dr. M told me about the cavity i needed filled - I woke up in throbbing pain. I was in so much pain I called the office and left a message on their emergency line at 11:30 at night. Within 15 min of me leaving a message one of the dentist's from the practice (Dr. Kurdi...I think) called me back. I described my pain to him and he told me what meds to take and to come to the office for an emergency appointment in the morning. The next morning I came in and saw Dr. M again. I was a little embarrassed, but he didn't make me feel bad at all about me not coming back sooner - his only concern was to get me out of pain. The assistant Jess immediately took an x-ray of my tooth and they did some type of sensitivity test on me and came to the conclusion I needed a root canal. I was in so much pain I didn't care. Dr. M was amazing - he numbed me up so fast. I watched HGTV the entire appointment and he did the root canal. He advised me on what meds to take for the pain if I had any afterwards. 4 hours after the appointment after all the numbness wore off, I felt sooooo much better. Dental pain is the worst - I'm glad it was taken care of fast! I have to go back in a few weeks to get the temporary filling out and get the real one in, I can't wait to go back! Dr. M and the entire staff at Dentologie were great - It feels great when you find a Dentist that actually cares about you and you trust. I highly recommend going to them. read more

This will sound weird, but I actually enjoy going to the dentist. This place has a very hip, youthful vibe (e.g. complimentary izze drinks while you wait, flat screens above your head so you're not bored while getting your teeth cleaned) with an emphasis on great customer service. I've been going to Dr. Founas for about two years and among the things I like is that he is conservative when it comes to treatment. There are some spots that might potentially need work later on, but rather than rushing in to do fillings, we're taking a wait-and-see approach. I appreciate that. I'm really not in a hurry to get dental work unless it's necessary and if it's not at this point, I am happy to wait. This is a great dental practice -- definitely the most memorable one I've ever been to. read more

Check this, they have TV's on the ceiling so when they are working on me i can watch the ESPN Zone (VERY CREATIVE). Dr. Mohiudeen was not only super friendly but knows his stuff inside out!!! I am so impressed by all of the staff I have encountered at Dentologie, specifically Dr. Arabia or as she goes by, Dr. A. I have a lot of extensive dental work as well as anxiety. I feel extremely confident with their staff and high tech technology. I LOVE their television distractions as well, one is in front of you and then when you are lowered back for dental work, one is on the ceiling!!! For people like me that is a great huge distraction. I left my great dentist of 15 years for this practice because their practice is simply a few steps behind Dentologie as well as it was hard to get a same day appointment with a dentist who runs the show himself. The Dentologie staff is so kind, informative, and gives several options which I appreciate. I also love their location right off the red line at Roosevelt and State. What really won me over with Dentologie was how quickly the staff has responded to me via email or phone call. That goes a long way with someone with a lot of anxiety. I would never over contact such helpful and great professionals, but it's good to know they get back to you extremely fast! Their office is also immaculate, modern and comfortable. I've never encountered such cheerful and helpful staff/front desk associates, which ensures me they are most likely pretty happy with their jobs. I've always been a firm believer about the first people a patient (I) see in a medical setting reflects on the doctor. Another little perk that has nothing to do with dentistry, is that they have a wonderful selection of beverages while you wait, television, record player, magazines etc., although I've NEVER had to wait. I'm sure it does happen, but I find the practice to be mindful of their patients time. I also wanted to add I LOVE their hours, I have always been able to get in same day if needed. One last note, I feel like the staff treats me as a person and not just a set of teeth. From my experiences for the most part in the past I've just felt like a mouth that shows up for work to be done, and when I'm at Dentologie I feel like a person and am asked if I'm comfortable, does this bother/hurt (answer has always been no). I come from the far north side to see Dr. Arabia at Dentologie. The receptionists are really helpful, the hygienists are thorough, and the doctor is quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Arabia did two fillings and it was really fast and painless. They still feel great, no issues. Most of my fillings at other clinics have been painful, and I thought that was just normal. But at Dentologie, I didn't feel a thing. She numbed the area, gave the shot, filled my cavities, worked on the bite, and I was in and out. read more

The staff was amazing. I get anxiety when it comes to the dentist, I explained that to Dr. Arabia who listed to my concerns and understood. She took her time, explained everything in detail and put me at ease. Even the assistant was amazing. Dr. Arabia even called me the next morning to check up on me. This place is great from the moment you walk through the door. First thing - no paperwork. It's all done on an ipad which is so easy. Laura did the xrays and cleaned my teeth and it was painless, a first in my world. She explained everything she was doing and had impeccable bedside manner. TV's were a big help. There's one in front of you and then on the ceiling. They will change the channel if you request it. The dentist, Dr. F (his name is impossible to pronounce correctly without a lot of practice) was amazing. He is was patient, kind and thorough when he gave me the results of my exam. After, they gave me a personalized goody box full of all things teeth-related. For those of you who don't have insurance, they have an innovative cash payment plan that discounts treatment costs. I could tell this place was going to be great because the receptionist was friendly, informative and competent. My pet peeve about medical practices is that the receptionist always acts annoyed that you are there and she has to attend to you. Not here- She was wonderful! Dr. Mohiuddin is so genuine, and you can tell he's passionate about his work. He took time to explain everything to me about my teeth. This is the dentist I have been hoping for.
