His team, especially Rosa, were very compassionate, answered all of my questions, and even responded to any calls or texts I had regarding the procedure and recovery in between my visits. The day of my surgery, the whole team helped me calm down and joked with me until the very moment the IV kicked in. Dr. Choi has also been the most successful doctor to get an IV set up with me (I have tiny veins and bruise easily). He made the whole experience smooth and more painless than I ever expected. The actual gum graft covers five of my teeth. The pain was much less than I expected for this procedure, and that's coming from someone who doesn't always handle pain very well. Now I have healthy gums and I couldn't be happier with how it all worked out. I was very nervous going into this until I met this team. The building seems historic but, inside it's modern and cool. I was greeted right away when I walked in. Then, I was asked to fill out some forms. It only took five minutes. Then I was quickly called back to get my xray done by the D.A. that was really nice and personable. The Hygienist was also nice loaded with information. Dr. Brown, the Dentist was a female and she was super sweet! I could tell she had a great working relationship with my her team. I don't think I've been to a Dentist as nice as her. Despite my son's clean bill of health from a reputable dentist just six months prior, he was told he had serious gum disease and urgently needed multiple expensive procedures -- including deep cleanings, laser treatments, and diagnostic tests -- none of which were previously deemed necessary. He left confused, alarmed, and out of pocket for one of the deep cleanings that they managed to convince him he needed. Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I returned myself. The exact same playbook was used on me: dire warnings about the condition of my gums, an overwhelming list of treatments, and a price tag in the thousands even with insurance. I declined all upsells and requested a standard cleaning -- which was then performed carelessly and in haste. Several teeth were missed entirely during both the cleaning and polishing. It was clear that because I refused the costly add-ons, they no longer valued my time or care. I told the dentist that I was very disappointed and she said she would continue to work on me. I allowed her to work a few minutes longer but it was still evident I was not receiving even a moderately thorough cleaning. I have never in my life had a dental cleaning that was done so quickly and haphazardly. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional -- it's unethical. This made things more bearable. Affordable Dentures saves patients money by streamlining the process into a fine tuned machine. There is not much room in this system for any hand holding or even a quick second for the Doctor to peek in on you before you leave. To a scared patient this process can feel cold and unfeeling. I read and signed all the disclaimers and possible outcomes before my extractions. I was fully informed of what could happen but too scared to let myself believe it. The Nitrous oxide was no where near as effective as it has been for me at previous dentist visits. I had no trouble breathing it in but evidently my sinuses may have effected it anyway. The extractions were difficult for me without the extra relief of Nitrous. I knew what to expect- it was never sugar coated but make no mistake this is a brutal procedure no matter how gentle they are. My Tips If you have any doubts about if Nitrous is working be smarter than I was and refuse to continue. Bring extra gauze or a towel for your ride home. When I left, I was dripping blood every time I bent forward. And went thru most of the bag of gauze they gave me within an hour. Have multiple ice packs ready at home.
