This place has been exceptional for the past several years. Every time we come to Amelia, we come here because the soft serve is incredible. On our most recent trip, we came twice. The first time, the drive through took 20+ minutes but we didn't know why. The second time, we went inside and there was an employee yelling at the staff the whole time. It was extremely awkward and everyone inside was looking at each other due to how uncomfortable we all felt. I would recommend they rethink who's working there because it's such a cute place and the management didn't seem to match here. This place went to gastapo type management and over priced ice cream of mediocre quality. The staff also works in a state of confusion. It looks run down, a child cup with 1 scoop is 30 cents less than an adult cup with 2 scoops at over $5.00. You cant get 2 different flavors if you order 2 scoops. The flavor selection is sparse and there aren't any creative great choices. Its a few minutes on main street in Historic Downtown, that you can find 3 Ice Cream shops that make you want more. This place is awful. I was there 3 years ago and it was better. Owners now have changed in some way, either ownership or they just don't care about their business, only the money it produces for them. read more

Truly a small business with just one unisex restroom and only a few tables, it is abundantly clear that taking your order with you is part of the business model. The staff appeared pleasant and very familiar with the menu items. Portion size moderate and the prices a bit higher than expected, the team prepared everything in a decent amount of time. I truly would prefer the Dairy Queen just a few blocks away however, there is usually a crowd and higher wait times. Those with a few extra dollars and willing to eat in the car, or some other spot will enjoy the quick turn around and convience of a short menu. Cleanliness needs some work inside and out. read more

DeNucci's is over in our minds. We hadn't been in a while, but we were thinking today about how good their hamburgers and fries are. We went there and all they have now is hot dogs and ice cream. No burgers, no fries and no sandwiches other than the hot dogs which tasted today like dog food. Adorable little place tucked away on Sadler Road as you head towards the beach. Can't miss it when you drive by, it's painted several different colors. I stopped by with my daughter about a week ago, because she had been during a field trip and really liked it. She had a chocolate frozen custard with Reese's topping, and I was good for once and had the banana/vanilla frozen yogurt swirl. So yummy! It's a small place, the owner was working at the counter with the other employee. I'm always happy to see that. They also have a nice selection of hot dogs if you're looking for a lunch option. We visited at around 3:00 last Saturday afternoon after scoping out the menu online. We ordered ice cream as well as an avocado egg salad wrap to go. My husband's chocolate malt was done first, and it was fine - nothing exciting, but pretty good and a decent value at $4.25. I ordered one of the daily features, a Nutella sundae cone, described as "Nutella in a chocolate dipped pretzel cone, filled with chocolate and vanilla soft serve and dipped in cookie crunch." It sounded amazing, so I didn't balk at the $6.49 price tag or even bother mentioning it when the cashier charged me $6.99 incorrectly. After waiting about 10 minutes, I finally received my cone and was dumbfounded at how TINY it was. The whole thing, from the bottom of the cone to the top of the soft serve, couldn't have been taller than my hand. I'd be shocked if it had even 4 oz of ice cream in it. I couldn't believe I had paid SEVEN DOLLARS for this sad cone. The pretzel cone was unique and tasty, but nothing about this cone made it worth more than half what I paid for it. I spent the rest of the day kicking myself for not having said something to the manager. Ridiculous. Later we tried the avocado egg salad wrap, which was bland and soggy, and we threw it away after one bite each. Bottom line: Denucci's is an overpriced disappointment. Skip it. read more

I have to be honest. I would have been happier with a tub of ice cream from Publix. We got the Butter Pecan, Peach, and Red white and blue. The Butter Pecan tasted very old and I didn't finish it (and I only got a kids cup). 3 stars is a disappointing rating for a place I hoped I would love. The ice cream was average, which means it was perfectly tasty, but I'd hoped to be impressed. Some interesting things on the menu, but I thought there'd be more flavors. My son's birthday cake was better than my mint-chocolate chip, and my wife's vanilla custard was about on par with other frozen custards I've had. The guy in front of us, it should be noted, was thoroughly disgusted with his chocolate milkshake and actually threw the entire $6 cup in the trash after he left. Maybe he has really high chocolate milkshake standards, or maybe it tasted funny, who knows? The service was awful -- disinterested teens or early-20-somethings with dead eyes thrusting ice cream in your general direction while mumbling under their breath.
