DeNucci's is the perfect ice cream shop! They offer soft serve custard, hand-dipped, sundaes, shakes, malts, frappes and Dole Whips! Dairy-free and vegan too. They have daily specials of mixed up treats or you can create your own. They also offer hot dogs, chicken wraps and nachos if you want more than the sweets. My first visit I tried the Dole Whip in pineapple! So light and delicious and non-dairy. They also had in in raspberry. No need to go to Disney for these perfect summer treats! Our second visit was for the hand-dipped ice creams. I had their newest flavor - cookie butter crunch. It hotter better and better as I scooped up its deliciousness on the spoon. My second flavor was stellar coffee with fudge ribbons and little chocolate coffee cups. This is the strongest coffee flavored coffee i e cream I've ever had. True perfection for coffee ice cream lovers! My son ate his cookie dough and mint trax so quickly that I didn't get a taste lol. The building is colorful and beach with a fenced-in playground and outdoor seating. You can get your treats from the drive-thru, walk up window or the counter inside. My lovely bride and I ordered the Fat Turtle Sundae, which we shared. Thank God we didn't order anything else. It's more than enough for 2 people. The chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and chunks of waffle cone are quite a treat, but somewhat over the top. Great location, great drive through and walk up options, great selection of ice cream. However, they had maybe 3 employees there with a line wrapped around the drive through...so the walk up service was slow and their employees are either rude (a teenage/young 20's girl with a lot of attitude!) or not knowledgeable about their products. My kids enjoyed the cookies and cream ice cream and my mom liked the mint chip. I didn't enjoy my Mudslide ice cream. I threw it in the garbage. It was super rich and wayyyyy too bitter. Where do I start?! Would not recommend this place. The ice cream was mediocre, some ice cream we sampled actually had ice on it, really? It was an odd feeling, they didn't welcome us when I walked in with my husband, but welcomed the mother-daughter pair that came in after me. I'm not going to jump to conclusions. I'm 9.5 months pregnant on a hot day. When I walked back inside to ask for water, the staff ignored me and asked the people who walked in after me what she could get them as if I wasn't standing there. Again, super weird encounter. I jumped in and asked for water and she seemed annoyed. The other customer said, she was here first (referring to me), and turned to me and said "we got your back," while smiling at me. The other folks behind me all mentioned this was weird especially since I had been standing there for a while and visibility pregnant. There were camera everywhere like something sketchy happened there before, bathrooms were dirty, and food look like it had been sitting out for a while. The people working there seemed like they hate their job. I suggest driving down a couple of mild down the road to fernadina beach for an overall better experience. This ice cream shop is so cute! I ordered the 1/4 burger with the old bay seasoned fries. The burger was good and had a homemade taste. They were a little heavy handed in the seasoning so i wasn't able to finish them. For dessert o chose the the twister , which was not an easy task since they have so many ice cream options. The twister you choose your type of soft serve and 3 toppings to mix in. I got vanilla soft serve with brownies pecans and Reese cups and it was delicious. read more

The ice cream comes in kids, regular, and large... if you're looking for anything short of an ice cream, coma, stay away from the large! They really heap it in the bowls/cones, and the ice cream is rich, creamy, and delicious... It would be hard to imagine eating more than this particular "regular" size. Very friendly and quick service, despite a long line on a busy Saturday evening, only have good things to say there! It's located far enough from the beach that unless you're up for a brisk walk, it would really be better to drive. It's also right next to a large hotel, which, of course, is convenient for the hotel guests, but that, and being on the main entry road definitely makes it a busy setting and a little less relaxed then we'd like for a calm ice cream in the evening after a long day at the beach. It's absolutely no wonder this place was busy every single time we passed it! Honestly, we didn't realize that they had food outside of ice cream, so we ate before coming for dessert. They offer hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, etc, so keep that in mind! Outside you'll see a play place, a circular parking lot that goes just one way, and a yellow building with lights all around. The entry is a little tight, cause it's where you order, there are a few small tables, and they have a small display there too. But honestly you just get to know your neighbor really quickly. All the staff was busting butt to work fast and efficient and it was quite the whirlwind to watch! I opted for a soft serve cup, hubs went with chocolate parfait. We ordered the hot dogs to go. After they prepared our hot dogs, they did proceed to inform us that they have no take out bags. They just handed us the hot dogs not covered and cold. We loved DeNucci's! While in Fernandina Beach we were craving ice cream and thought we'd give it a try! They have a drive thru, but we opted to order and eat in. You can order at the outdoor window, or inside. It was a warm day so we headed in for the air conditioning and to get a thorough look of our options. The atmosphere is cheerful and tropical with bright colors that is perfect for florid! There is an outdoor fenced play ground for kids and two umbrella tables outside. There are a few small tables inside as well. They have a great offering of soft serve and hand scooped ice cream. I love Dole Whip and since they had raspberry, I asked to taste it. I was sold! So I ordered a small cup of the raspberry and vanilla side by side. My husband ordered a vanilla malt with whipped cream. We consider ourselves vanilla malt snobs and he loved it! It had the perfect amount of malt and the ice cream used to make it was thick and rich! I was so appreciative that he let me have a taste! I agree it was delicious! If you want good ice cream you need to go here. I know it says soft serve but they have hand dipped also. We got he butter pecan and if was loaded with pecans. Let me tell you one dip is almost a quart of ice cream. It was the biggest cone I have ever have. DeNucci's really is a great local ice cream shop that offers food of other types too. We have not had anything but the ice cream and shakes, but I understand from some of my local friends, that the chicken salad and the air popped food items are really good. My 14 year old nephew came to visit with his family earlier this year and anytime he went on a bike ride, I knew where he was headed. They do get very busy during the spring and summer months, so go with patience and understand it may take awhile. Why oh why is this not closer to where I live? We drove by DeNucci's heading to our campsite and thought it looked like a unique spot. Two days later we stopped by on our way home to give it a try. I pulled up the website on our drive over to see their selection and noticed they had MnM cookie cones and this immediately intrigued me. Once we got there we discovered that they have rotating soft serve as well as regular ice cream flavors. I instantly gravitated towards "Stellar Coffee." My bf ordered twist soft serve in the MnM cone with the crunch (peanut brittle and rainbow sprinkles) on the outside of the ice cream. Since he got the MnM cone I decided to try the chocolate cookie cone and two scoops of Stellar Coffee. Holy moly....two scoops is A LOT!! This cone was as big as my head. The ice cream was probably the best coffee ice cream I've had. I had to knock off one scoop into a bowl just to be able to try the cone because I was getting so full. I love that I can find Dole Whip outside of Disney, and it's actually good! They even have pup cups for the fur babies! I will say I wish their online and social media presence was stronger. I can never seem to find an updated menu or correct pricing. I wouldn't count on your favorite being available all the time. And their operating times are a bit hard to pin down. It seems their prices are constantly changing, and often going upwards. I don't know that some of the lunch food options are quite worth the cost, but I'm sure most people visit for the ice creams and treats anyway. There's also an "eats" menu of sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, nachos, pretzels, salad, etc. The only note is the parfait seems a little overpriced for what was (next time I'll just get the kiddos a small soft serve ice cream). There's a few tables both inside and outside along with an outdoor play area for the kids. It's clean and the staff was very quick to take and fill our orders at the walk-up window. DeNucci's is mom and pop shop up in Amelia Island and is a local favourite! I love visiting this spot while I'm up here and it's quite frankly one of the best burger and dessert joints on the island! I ordered the 1/4 lb burger with everything on it with a side of perfectly salted fries and a Mango Dole-Whip Shake. I've learned the hard way that the burgers fill you up so fast that this combination is perfect enough for me! We took the orders to go and everything turned out perfect. I think my favourite part is the shake because I honestly don't know where else to fine Dole-Whip asides from Disney! One of the things I want to point out is not only their superb service to their costumers, but also to their fellow co workers! When someone needs help with something, no one hesitates to ask. When one person does not need help, they ask the next person and they all go in circles, like a gear, making sure everything runs smoothly.
