I consulted a friend who was a retired landscaper regarding my backyard vision, and he said to find a company that specializes in aesthetic concrete and can do colored and textured concrete. I found Denver Patio Masters and they did not disappoint! First, I met with their consultant Mike, who measured out our walkway vision and took notes on the rest of what we wanted, like white river rock and the Drainage. We went over the options for concrete colors and textures, and I was so impressed with the selection! We were having our wedding in the backyard and really wanted our side yard and dance patio to be done by the deadline, and here we were meeting only a month out. I'm so grateful that we worked with them!!! They did everything perfectly, including installing underground drain pipes. They were very accommodating on requests and focussed on making us happy. We hired Denver Patio Masters to install a concrete walkway, patio, pergola, and privacy wall. Unfortunately, the quality of the work has been extremely disappointing. Within two months, the concrete walkway began peeling and had to be repaired. Since then, the patio and other walkways have cracked, and the overlay material is peeling off. The pergola roof is deteriorating, wood trim has fallen off, posts are splitting, and the structure itself is not stable. The project was completed only about a year and a half ago and was represented as having a lifetime warranty. Despite repeated attempts to get these issues addressed, the company has been unresponsive. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Denver Patio Masters. The workmanship has not held up, and the lack of response regarding the warranty has made the situation even worse. Do not do business with this company. read more

I had to condense my review A TON when writing it here. I have all of the dates and timestamps of all communication between myself and this company. I am just over this company and am writing this review because I agreed to do so. Communication is something that I find very important when working with any company, particularly if I am spending a large amount of money. I did not feel like my project was as important to this company as it was to me, simply because it wasn't something extravagant that the salesman (Logan) made clear is something they are used to doing. Some things to note: I initially chose this company because they had a $10,000 patio prize. Plus, I figured it would be something awesome to add to our house. 2. We got a firepit for free, after Logan called Marty, the owner, to ask him for it since it was a promotion from, I believe, June. 3. Logan mentioned that there would be times when I may not hear from him, but I was welcome to reach out with comments or questions. I understand that this company does a lot of work for people in Denver and has recently expanded to Colorado Springs- I believe I read in a response to a review that Marty mentioned that they do anywhere from 300-500 patios a year. Cool, now I am wondering how great that communication piece was between their contact with DPM and the clients. Do they place precedence on people who have elaborate pieces to be completed over those who just want a simple patio? Or they do they put the same energy in to any project, no matter the size and amount that is paid to them? If this is something that isn't as important to you, yeah definitely use this company. The concrete contractor that they used was wonderful, but getting a heads up from ANYONE about their arrival would have been great. We have a few more things that we would like to do in our backyard, and we have 2 parking lots that we need concrete poured for my employer, but we will be taking bids from other companies for these projects. Also, the patio prize was never mentioned again. After reading additional comments on their Facebook page and reading through their Google reviews, this seems to be a common issue. My overall experience was frustrating, and it was a constant battle in my head as to whether or not to reach out to Logan when I would go weeks without hearing from him. At one point, I thought I had gotten scammed because my down payment had cleared without a single word from him. I will also admit that I got rude with Logan, which was wrong and I should have apologized to him about it. But like I said, I am just over this company. Marty did end up visiting my home and having a conversation with me about my experience. He was pleasant and apologized for my negative experience. While I enjoy my patio, I feel like I overpaid by quite a bit. If I could just get in contact with the concrete guys for my next upcoming projects, I would GLADLY just use them and not DPM ever again. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT hire Denver Patio Masters. This is without question the worst company I have ever dealt with in almost 40 years. In my experience, they are dishonest, completely unreliable, and will tell you whatever they need to tell you to get your business. We chose them because we were told they did not use subcontractors, they were experts at permitting and would handle the entire process, and they could guarantee our completion date. That guarantee was a major reason we signed a roughly $45,000 contract and paid them around $20,000. Then the lies started. For months we were told there were issues with permitting, including supposed problems with measurements. Eventually I contacted Adams County myself and discovered the permit had not even been submitted until June 12. We signed in February. For months we were being given explanations about problems with a permit that had not even been submitted. After I pushed back, I dealt directly with CEO Marty Toma and other employees. We were told the salesperson who made these promises had been fired for making false promises. We were assured everything would change and our project would be managed properly. It was not. It remained a disaster. The subcontractor situation was just as bad. After specifically being told they did not use subcontractors, every crew we dealt with appeared to be subcontracted. Multiple contractors told us they had either just started working with Patio Masters or had never worked with them before. They repeatedly showed up having no idea about our project. We would confirm with Patio Masters beforehand that the crew knew what needed to be done, and then they would arrive with no idea what they were working on. We ended up explaining our own project to the people sent there to build it. Their project management was shockingly bad. They failed to do basic things like leave the plans out for inspections, which contributed to failed inspections multiple times. We constantly had to chase them for schedules, plans, permit information, dates and even basic answers about when someone was going to show up. Requests went unanswered over and over, and there was constant resistance to putting important commitments in writing. We were later promised the project would be 100% complete by July 4. July 4 came and went and it was nowhere close to finished. After roughly $20,000 paid, the project was still substantially incomplete. Another contractor later assessed what remained and quoted us approximately $11,000 to finish the job. The permitting mess continued all the way to the end. These were homeowner permits for our property, and after firing Denver Patio Masters I had to personally work with Adams County to remove their access so they could no longer access or make changes to our permits. We gave this company chance after chance. We stayed after the delays, after discovering the permit had not been submitted, after being told their salesperson had been fired for making false promises, and after speaking directly with the CEO and being told things would change. They even offered us a $2,500 discount because of the problems. None of it mattered because nothing actually improved. I fully expect Marty to respond to this review with the same pettiness, blame shifting and statements that I believe are false that we dealt with throughout this process. That's fine. I have the emails, texts, permit records, dates and other documentation to support what I am saying here. This review is not based on one bad interaction or hurt feelings. It is based on months of documented problems. Construction delays happen. Permits take time. Weather happens. That is not why I am leaving this review. I am leaving it because we were repeatedly given information that turned out not to be true, repeatedly promised things that did not happen, repeatedly sent contractors who had no idea what they were there to do, and repeatedly forced to chase this company for basic answers while they already had roughly $20,000 of our money. We ultimately fired Denver Patio Masters and hired someone else to finish the project. Whatever you do, stay far away from this company. Do not believe a single thing they tell you unless you have it in writing and can independently verify it yourself. I have the receipts. I wish I had known all of this before I ever signed their contract. read more

We hired DPM to build us a very large outdoor patio. We took advantage of their "free gazebo" promotion which definitely sweetened the deal. We were sold on their construction methodology using deep caissons (like structural posts) below the poured concrete patio to help prevent cracking over time due to settling and erosion. We were also sold on their lifetime warranty. Everyone involved was polite, professional and did whatever it took to make us happy with the end result. Mission accomplished! We love it and are looking forward to enjoying our new outdoor extended living area. read more

My family will 100% not be using your company after that extremely rude experience with your sales rep. I was very honest and clear about what we needed and our budget for a deck before hand. When the rep arrived for a appraisal/quote he was pushy about coming into my house and treated me like I needed my wife to make a decision and said things like, "yeah most guys say they are the decision makers until thier wife gets involved". I told him that is not the case and my wife and kid are inside sleeping. He rolled his eyes and said okay where is your deck so i brought him to my back yard. He then proceeded to be inconvenienced because my deck was to dangerous to go up to measure. 99% of the quote i have got they didnt need too go on the deck.. Your company needs some better training for your sales guys. If I treated my customers like that I'd be out of a job. High pressure sales tactics don't work. read more

We started out great with Denver Patio Masters and they initially were very responsive. They came out to resolve some sprinkler issues which supposedly they weren't required to do, so I appreciate that they went above and beyond at that time. They did make quick work of the project which was also appreciated. The reason that I'm now giving them two stars is that they have a very limited warranty on their sod (one growth cycle). Ours failed in a number of places - we've tried to call our sales rep, call the company and I've texted (their preferred method of resolving issues according to their voicemail) but unfortunately haven't been met with any resolution. Hoping this helps that as I was impressed with their work and planned to use them for a pergola down the road. When you have a limited warranty, time is of the essence so timely responses would be appreciated. read more

My wife and I lost thousands, and his fake "I don't know who you are" and "we have thousands of happy customers" lies should have been obvious to us, but the 50% off sales closing scam appealed to our budget and we took his bait. Tread very carefully... The first time we had them come out they were kind but pressing to try to get you to sign and commit that day for a better price. When we wouldn't (we were getting multiple bids) & when we weren't relenting they gave us a patio card with a good until #date price. The second time they came out to finalize the bid they wanted a multi thousand dollar down payment and a contract signed without being able to give us a start date on the estimate for the project (we know weather here can always adjust it some). I'm from a family of lawyers and we said no not until I had a copy of the contract to read in full. They said it's here on the IPad. We would not give them money or sign until they sent it to us in writing to review. We have never put a massive deposit down on a project before starting, and specially when no timeframe could be given (2023 vs 2024). About 20 minutes later the rep called and said "I am going to defer your contract" - that we weren't off on the right foot so they wouldn't take our project. SO if you ask to see what you are signing and won't just give them thousands of dollars they won't work with you. BEWARE!!! *Note this was the rep sent to the house, when I did talk to the owner to setup an appt for the initial estimate he was kind and experienced. read more

We had a complex patio awning expansion and pergola replacement project that involved having to work around several existing structures and an outdoor grill/kitchen area, plus putting up new stone veneers. Definitely helps to know some Spanish to communicate with some of the work crews, but everything turned out great. You just have be very patient with the timeline and folks don't always get back to phone or text messages right away. The work took a lot of time and was pricey, but high quality and worth the wait. We are very happy with the results. Working with carpenter Doug was great, also Gerardo with the stone veneers. Logan was good with the paperwork and finalizing details.
