We just went for dinner with friends 6/11/26. Food was ok as was wait staff. We just finished eating and having a really nice time and were paying our bill when a young guy came to our table and said we only allow 1 1/2 hour for service and that they needed the table for a reservation. We had been there an hour. We have eaten all over the world and have never been treated so horribly. Especially after spending over $200. We will never go to this restaurant again and will let our friends know why. read more

4 of us ate here for lunch 7/17/25 including an 8yr old, nice family Italian atmosphere, server came right over, got our drink order, ordered stuffed mushrooms appetizer, yum! We ordered off the lunch menu which was a good deal-included salad, pasta. drink. Dinner menu is a la carte so alot more $$. We had chicken parm, pasta in rosemary cream sauce, spaghetti/meatball and eggplant lasagne. Fresh bread with olive oil dip was provided. All of our food was hot, homemade, very tasty. Our server was very good, attentive, got our orders out perfectly. And don't forget to have a slice of cheesecake for dessert. OMG!! Best I've every had. We ALL raved about the cheesecake!!! They must survive on long-term customers and nostalgia, because a lot of times the quality of their food just isn't up to snuff. I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at your establishment, which has deeply disheartened our family. As long-standing patrons who have consistently chosen your restaurant, often dining with you at least once a week, we were particularly dismayed by what transpired last Sunday. We visited your location on Sunday afternoon, approximately 4:30 PM, to celebrate my daughter's birthday with an early dinner alongside my in-laws. Our party consisted of six individuals, and it is important to note that my father-in-law lives with Parkinson's disease, making prolonged standing and navigating crowded spaces particularly challenging for him. Upon arrival, we were quoted an estimated wait time of 20 minutes. Understanding that Sundays can be busy, we agreed to wait. However, after patiently waiting for 35 minutes, we still had not been seated. During this extended period, we observed at least four parties of two, who arrived after us, being seated. While we understand the complexities of table allocation, this sequence of events, especially given our larger party size and my father-in-law's condition, was incredibly frustrating and felt unjust. When we approached a member of your staff to inquire about our table and the ongoing delay, we were directed to a manager. Unfortunately, our interaction with the manager only exacerbated our disappointment. We found her demeanor to be unhelpful and dismissive, showing a distinct lack of empathy for our situation. The combination of the excessive wait and the manager's unaccommodating response left us feeling undervalued and disregarded as customers. Given the circumstances, we made the difficult decision to leave your restaurant. We subsequently went to a nearby Carrabba's, where we were immediately seated and received excellent service throughout our meal. It is with regret that I must inform you that, following this experience, we will be taking our future business to establishments that demonstrate better customer care and more efficient service. We had always valued your establishment as a reliable and enjoyable dining spot for our family. To be so profoundly let down, particularly on a special occasion, is truly upsetting. I arrived and waited 28 minutes on a server to come to my table once she finally came she said she just heard about me and was extremely rude. We then got our food, which was a bland separated, holy Alfredo and a chicken Parmesan, which was mostly breadcrumbs after this experience is gonna be a long time if ever before I go back to this restaurant, we did see the manager and he gave us free dessert, but the meal was terrible. read more

My husband and my mom went for lunch last week at DePalmas on Timothy Road in Athens Ga. When seated we were given a Lunch menu and a Dinner menu. The lunch menu had Pasta Depalma with a side salad with $14, that's what I ordered. My husband ordered the Pasta Depalma also but requested it be from the dinner menu at $18. You would reasonably think there is a difference in portion from lunch at $14 to dinner at $18. WRONG! When our order came out the pasta meals were the same portion size. Curious, we asked the server who said " yeah, I asked the cook and he said that lunch and dinner are the same" this is when we asked for the manager. We inquired how could the same portion come with a salad for $14 when you imply a dinner order for $18 without the salad- furthermore LET THE CUSTOMER ORDER IT THAT WAY AND CHARGE THEM MORE!! The manager began to ramble lie after lie that made no sense. He suggested they were trying to increase lunch business by offering a special at $14- however offered NOTHING to speak to why they were fine charging him $18 for less. He stated the server knows to say something, clearly not. Why even put them in that position?! DePalmas you have been a go to for me for years but now Im left with a shady feeling about how you do business. You can see the receipt attached where the meal was removed. Restaurant was fairly empty and the hostess was super rude. The server had someone training, and we were told it would be a little bit of a wait because of the new server. We said we'd just go somewhere else since my son is 1 and he gets disruptive if he has to sit and wait for too long. She then "took back" what she said and seated us. We waited at the table for a little bit, but my son started fussing so we got up and went to agua linda next door. The hostess gave us a nasty look while we were walking out. I'm glad we left, we probably would've had a bad experience based on what happened as soon as we opened the door! Agua Linda is great and the staff is super kind! Definitely recommend them. We had an absolutely bizarre experience at Depalma's. My partner ordered Pesto Torteloni and received a bowl of dry, undercooked, oil-saturated slop. I'm not exaggerating: there was like, half an inch of oil pooled at the bottom of the bowl. I ordered the Bolognese Torteloni and it was watery and undercooked. When we told our server that the food was unsatisfactory, she proceeded to tell us that "that's just how we do it here" in a very sarcastic, dismissive tone, before handing us our bill. So I'm here to tell you what she told us: don't expect cooked pasta, but enjoy your $20 dry oil bath-- that's just how they do it there. read more

DePalmas has the vibes of a classy Italian restaurant with the food and service of a trashy Italian restaurant. 10 minutes after being seated my girlfriend and I ordered bread as an appetizer, so were surprised when "complimentary" bread came out 5 minutes later-- meaning we'd just paid for bread on top of the free bread provided. Didn't exactly break my wallet, but pretty darn weird that the free bread took 15 minutes to come out and the server never mentioned it existed when we paid for bread before hand. The appetizer bread then came out at the same time as the pasta, which kind of defeats the purpose of an appetizer. The pasta itself was okay, but below the quality level of more expensive Athens pasta joints like ZZ & Simone's and The Expat. Overall a very average dining experience. The other DePalma's may be better, but I won't be coming back to this one. read more

I have loved each one of my experiences at this restaurant. I randomly happened upon it during the summer and since then I have brought my friends and family to experience their food and drinks. I usually make a reservation in advanced because this is a popular spot. The dining area is low lit, with a lot of cool pictures on the walls and in the tables. The first time I went I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and the Seafood Charmaine. Both were excellent! I have also loved the friend ravioli. The staff is friendly and flexible. One time our appetizer arrived very late so our server took it off our ticket without us complaining/asking. My best friend and I both agree this is our favorite Italian spot in Georgia (we drive an hour and a half to taste it). I would give 20/10 read more

Was here over the holidays looking for a good, local meal. With many of the restaurants closed just ahead of Christmas, we ended up trying out Depalmas almost on a whim - and boy am I glad we did. The food and service were both EXCELLENT. Our waiter was very attentive with great recommendations. We started out with the calamari, which actually was the least impressive portion of the meal to us. It was still good and I loved that they actually seasoned the breading rather than just relying on the sauce for flavor, but some of the pieces ended up having a bit too much seasoning and was a bit salty for me (and I like salt). Again, still good, just not as good as the items that followed. Following that, our waiter brought us some homemade bread which I think we both ended up drooling over. It was so fresh and delicious that I could have just eaten that and been happy. But there was still more to come! We got the tortellini with chicken sausage and shrimp Alfredo, both of which were AMAZING! I had the tortellini and it was also very fresh and flavorful. The chicken sausage and the sauce provided the perfect amount of flavor and spice - so much so that I'm getting hungry thinking of it. We also had shrimp Alfredo at the table which was also very good. We had an excellent experience here and I 100% plan to return and try out some recommendations we got from others who said it's one of their favorite restaurants. When they seated us is where the taken aback factor comes into play. They walked my fiancée and I to the back of the restaurant where it was separated from the main area.....say what now?? I kinda sat there for a moment in disbelief, then when the waiter came back, I told him that we needed to be seated somewhere else because this area seemed a bit segregated! Not the 1950s anymore!! Whether it was done intentionally or not, it's the principal, we were NOT gonna be seated away from the "other" people. He obliged us with no problem! On to the food and service. The waitress was very welcoming and the food was delicious! My fiancée got the special of the night which was some sort of salmon pasta dish...DE-LISH! I got the stuffed mushrooms and a salad (can't remember the name , but it had pecans in it), which both were good. All in all, this would've been a 4 or 5 star review, but the beginning is what lowered my rating. Oh, and that bread!! Fantastic pizza and wonderful service once we got past the terrible hostess service. When a customer requests a booth and you clearly have several available, give the customer their request regardless of your balancing the tables amount the servers. The hostess also failed to alert ours server we were sitting in her section. Total incompetence that was repaired by our wonderful server. The server came-by and asked if we had been helped. I told her no and that we were not happy with our table. She moved us without drama and proceeded to provide us with first class service. Food was spot on. The pizza crust is great ,and the toppings were plentiful and fresh. This restaurant has a classy relaxed atmosphere and is very welcoming. I will definitely come back. Went for dinner. A new waiter in-training (unsupervised) served our table. We waited 30 min for 3 menu meals. No word. Finally the waiter told us our food "would be out soon". Then 10 min later told us our order had never been actually placed. Said he put a rush on the new order. After 1 hour of no food and no explanation, I asked to see a manager. A few minutes later, our meals finally arrived with hardly an apology. No manager ever showed up as requested. Even one meal was incorrect from what we ordered. No attempt to make our extended wait compensated, no apologies. Did get a rather generic email reply but nothing special Food was Olive Garden quality. I tried this location multiple times and it's unfortunate their kitchen staff do no follow proper cleaning procedures and protocols. This restaurant is the epitome of inconsistent. Big fan of the seafood Charmaine, when it's done right, considering it's the most expensive dish on the menu it should always be right. Twice I had it, it was amazing, full of flavor, killer scallops, spicy and delicious. Had it a 3rd time this past Friday night and it was bland and flavorless. Same with other dishes, sometimes they are home runs, and some times they are run off the mill bland and boring. First time we have visited this location in a while. We really had a good dining experience. On Wednesday night all pizzas are 25% off. We ended up sitting at the bar but there were tables available. The have a nice selection of wine by the glass. We had a nice Chianti and a nice Italian red wine. Both priced at $8 for a full wine glass pour. We got a medium pizza and got the 25% off our price. We have dined at the various locations many times, and this location is by far the worst ever. Tonight was our last time visiting any location period. My bf and I waited over 12 minutes to even be acknowledged or greeted with no hostess or staff in sight. A server came up to us and grabbed menus and told us the hostess would come over "soon". After finally sitting down, we waited another almost 15 minutes to even be greeted and asked if we would like waters. We ordered the goat cheese ravioli for an app, and it came out after the entrees and after asking about it twice.The server claimed they accidentally didn't make it. I chose to send back my first pasta dish because it was bland and just chopped tomatoes on top of pasta noodles....The tortellini dishes were hard, and filled with oil. We have been to Depalma's many times but this was the final straw giving this chain a chance. Their to go service is god awful and the service and food quality is not even sub par. We stopped in here for lunch last week and the food was great. I had the Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was seasoned well and lightly breaded served with a side of pasta with a marinara sauce. My husband had the pasta de Palma and he loved it. The side salads were just enough for lunch and the bread served with some olive oil was fine. What do you call Italian food without any bread? BORING! As we sat at the wierd family owned table (feels as if you are invading someone's privacy with these wierd ass plaques at the table) we were greeting by an overly loud and way overly vivacious waitress. She took our drink order and returned. We gave our order starting with the Mozarella & Pomadore. We asked for it Bruschetta style and were promptly told "We have no bread in the restaurant". I asked "The whole restaurant?", to which I was given the one exception, the pizza bread. I knew this dinner experience was going to be an interesting one. 8:30pm on a Saturday night and no bread, of any kind, other than pizza dough. If you like Italian, and cannot go to far from Athens, I recommend The Olive Garden, they were 5 times as busy, and I am sure they had bread. I have eaten at Scolini's in Smyrna, Ippolitos in several locations, Dominick's in Norcross, Sugo in John's Creek, Provino's near the Mall of Georgia. Heck, even Maggiano's Macaroni Grill. All of the above places have the ambiance, the atmosphere and the menu of real Italian. Never have I ever eaten a more bland, tastless, unappetizing meal than I did this evening. The only way I was even able to shovel down this TV dinner tray looking meal was to shake enormous amounts of the grated cheese for pizza into the dishes! Here are some highlights: 1. Mozarella & Pompodore: first, heirloom tomato or not (menu says heirloom) an unripe, mushy, over refrigerated tomato, combined with a dribble of Balsamic does not an antipasto make. 2. Ceasar salad: the most oily, vinegary, slimy Ceasar I have ever eaten. I used to make these Tableside at the Wilcox Inn in my hometown. This was more like Wishbone Italian and Kraft Parmesean from the plastic shaker. And I found some bread, tiny stale croutons. 3. Chicken Scallopini: Cold dry chicken served on overcooked and mushy spinach pasta (no need for the side pasta spoon to twirl with this mush) with canned artichoke hearts, 3 capers and wilted spinach leaves. Stop, just stop. Less than a mile down Atlanta Hwy is Olive Garden. I know, I know it's chain italian! Trust me, you do not want to spend your hard earned money on this poor excuse for Italian. read more

Holy yikes this was good. Courteous and prompt service, although I was at the bar, which does help. Still, Danté rocked it. I think I had the Piccata, which blew my socks off. I would have licked the plate clean but thought better of it. I could hear groans of pleasure all down the bartop as people enjoyed the fantastic food. Perfect wine list, dessert was a beautifully modified tiramisu. The best part was no unprofessional workers hooting and hollering, jumping around like they were drunk at a family bbq. The service was excellent. However, the food ranks somewhere below the Olive Garden with it's lazy interpretation of food. The red sauce barely qualified as that with its half cooked vegetables and watery consistency, the overdone pasta was slimy and tasteless, and the chicken parmesan was a lump of bland chicken with just a hint of parmesan. My most generous explanation is that a shortage of labor has led to a brigade of inexperienced cooks and chefs who's previous accomplishments were in some non-culinary endeavor. read more
