    Greek Salad
    Austin H.

Probably my favorite lunch place, at least in Athens, if not anywhere. It's a great space and atmosphere and I have found every staff member I have interacted with to be super friendly and just great. My absolute favorite go-to is their slice and a salad for $6. The great thing about this is that you see other places do something similar for lunch sometimes but you can get Starland's at ANY TIME! The pizza is just solid. Crispy yet light crust and dough, generous with the toppings, good size slice, and even distribution of the toppings so every bite is as delicious as the last. The salad is the real winner. I love the Greek Salad. They really pack it full of the good stuff: romaine, red onion, cucumber, tomato, Kalamata olives (which are excellent quality olives), feta cheese and my favorite is they have some wonderfully flavorful cherry peppers. The only thing that is not quite to my tastes are the red onions. They are lightly pickled in something that makes them really tangy. In theory it goes wonderfully with a Greek salad. However, it is so tangy it takes over and I'd rather have the crunchy bite from a raw red onion. Overall it's a wonderful place for a great lunch, just to hang out or stop in for a pint. I absolutely will be seeing this place more in the future.

What use to be transmet. Decent food... the crust could be better and the toppings didn't seem as fresh as I would have liked but It worked. Patio seating outside as well as upstairs and inside. They have a separate game day menu for Saturday's. Salads, pizza, slices fil 2am. Seems to be the gist of It all.

Love the Starland. Good vibe, great full bar (and bartenders who know what they are doing). Plenty of seating with an upstairs. My fav is the Little Sicilian calzone--it's huge with lots of gooey mozzarella to hold together all of the stuffings and ricotta. Really like their crusts--thin, crunchy and not do doughy as many others. Always a stop when I'm in Athens.

First time trying this place and really loved it!! Great atmosphere, they added outside tables in parking spots for COVID so we sat outside which was really nice. At first I thought the salad & a slice wouldn't fill me up but the slices are HUGE! It comes with one topping but each additional topping is only 50 cents! The pizza was crispy and delicious. The garlic knots were fresh out of the oven and not too greasy. Paired with the marinara sauce - perfection. We will be coming back for Sunday's $10 bottomless mimosas!

This place isn't classy. It's clean and divy and the food is fast am amazing. Great full bar. They have our signature favorite stoli vanilla. Great lo album covers adorn the walls. Tvs. Sports. Fun.

I've been here a few Times and it's all you can ask for from a pizzeria. I've had other pizza in town, but I personally find this to be the best. The restaurant is super clean and I feel like it's a good deal for a large 18 inch pizza, as it's only $18. Definitely my favorite pizzeria in Athens.

This place was one of our favorite stops on our trip. The food was good, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was excellent. One of our favorite things about the place was the spot upstairs, nice bar area with 3 big TV's and they have ping pong tables, pool tables, foosball and skeeball to play while you wait for your food.

Great NY style pizza place given we are in Athens, GA. The pizza slices were crispy and had no flop when picked up. The sauce had a little bit of a kick to it, surprisingly, but i liked it. The garlic knots were awesome too and a great value for the price! Some may not like that they are sitting in a small pool of butter and garlic, but I was very happy!

Maybe we went on an off night?…read more Family of five went by for dinner. Online reviews looked good and the menu posted at the door looked good. The bartender greeted us when we walked in and let us know to order our food at the bar. She was friendly. We ordered an appetizer of fried cheese curds, two chicken parm melts, chicken tacos, Dooley drip, and a chicken tender meal. The total was $97 with sodas, $120 after tip. They brought out a chicken parm and chicken tacos first. I got the chicken tacos and noticed that they smelled really bad. I took one bite and couldn't decide if it was the chicken or the sauce that was so bad. They honestly smelled like somebody with terrible body odor. Two other people at our table tried it and nobody liked it. We only managed to eat one of the three tacos. Everybody was laughing that I picked the wrong entree. Then our appetizer arrived and later the rest of the food. The chicken parm melts also had a bad taste and smell. I ate a very small piece of chicken from the chicken parm and couldn't eat any more of it. Only half of one chicken parm melt was ate between the three people that tried it. The Dooley Drip was liked and ate along with cheese curds. Unfortunately our son didn't try his chicken tenders as the other chicken didn't taste good. After we had given up on the chicken parm's, the tenders and the tacos we mostly just snacked on the fries. We did take the left overs home thinking that we may eat them later but while walking to the vehicle everybody agreed that they weren't touching them so we tossed them in a trashcan.

Chicken parm sandwich is really good. A bit spicy. Place is kinda surprisingly priceyread more

Store sold the known Creature Comforts brands of beer -including our favorite seasonal milk stout Kona Buni, logoed shirts and accessories and my personal favorite coffee liqueur - one of their newer products. The man who worked the register area also provided samples of products. He educated on content, processes to create and alcohol volume. There was never any pressure to purchase, just the opportunity to sample and experience the brand. It did lead to a purchase that was aided by the positive interaction from this gentleman and the ability to sample beers on tap in the larger dine-in area of Creature Comforts. I did enjoy the beers too. The outdoor area looked inviting, and will likely experience the next time I'm in Athens. Our visit to Creature Comforts was a great way to celebrate my Florida Gators men's basketball win over GA on their home turf!

It was an old-school street meter, thankfully it accepted credit cards. We took a short walk across the street and noticed a few outdoor tables in front, before heading inside. We entered and saw the sign instructing to seat yourself. We sat at a high top table pretty centrally located. The whole interior felt like we were transported to a British pub. Our server quickly came over with menus and waters, giving us a few minutes to review the options. We needed some time to review the menu. The beer list was massive; drafts as well as cans and bottles spread across multiple pages. While they don't offer traditional beer flights, they do serve smaller 11 ounce pours. Wifey ordered a couple of those: a Harp Premium Lager and a Bavak Super Wit from the draft list. I went with a bottled Pilsner Urquell and later tried an 11 ounce taster of "Escape Button," an IPA from local Athens brewery, Athentic. We enjoyed all of our choices. The food menu featured classic pub options, but also a few that you wouldn't expect like a Curry Chicken Bowl that I almost ordered but instead I went with the Turkey Club sandwich with no tomatoes and a side salad. Wifey ordered Chicken tenders with french fries. The food took a little longer than expected to come out and when it arrived my sandwich still came out with tomatoes. I did not make a big deal about it and picked them out. My sandwich and salad were actually very good and Wifey said her meal was also very good. While hanging out in the dining room we noticed some original artwork near the bar that we found out was to depict the history of wine. There's also an upstairs area that was blocked off during our visit, and a sign mentioned that live music starts at 10 PM. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch time visit to The Globe and would definitely return the next time we are in town.
