I've moved from Lancaster out to the Ventura area a few years ago and looked into several different shops to eventually have my '08 4Runner serviced. Friendly mechanics but I would get a second quote from another place before getting service here. About 2 weeks ago, I brought my car in because my check engine came on. They told me my thermostat needed to be replaced (~$300+) but since my car was also over 90,000 miles it would be a good idea to change my timing belt which would be another $900+. I'm glad I didn't jump to the gun and had my car serviced there because they were overcharging! I took my car to another auto shop and got my thermostat, water pump, and timing belt changed for only $240! I paid only about 1/5 of the cost they would of charged me and saved hundreds of dollars. I appreciate them letting me know that my timing belt needed to be changed but I recommend getting quotes from other auto shops before selecting one. Not just with this auto shop but for all! Also, even though they are open at 7:30, the mechanics don't roll in til 8am so if you come early you'll prolly have to wait til the mechanics show up. read more

We are travelling from Seattle to Arizona towing a 5th wheel and along the way had a fan belt that began shredding. It was after all shops had closed for the night, so I was able to take it very easy into town and get into an RV park for the night. The next morning called around to see if there was someone who could get me in and out that morning before we had to check out of the park. After a HORRIBLE phone experience with another shop, I called Dependable Car Care. The owner answered, told me he could get me out in time, and gave me a good ballpark quote. They were extremely pleasant through the entire process, got me in and out in less than an hour, and sent me a follow-up text 2 days later to make sure everything was going ok! Dan and the guys at Dependable Car Care hands down the best-run operation and experience ive had with a mechanic. Took the car in for a tune-up, had multiple services taken care of. Car was then worked on by Ford dealer immediately after. Got the car back and was not accelerating correctly, took it back to Dan who found the fault and fixed free of charge. After reviewing with them the overall condition, the replacement cost of the SUV, and the intended use (local trips pulling a utility trailer), the repairs were made.
