We bought our first keyboard/digital piano here in 2014 after over 2 hours of testing different options and speaking with Don and Ben (thank you for your patience as we also didn't know too much English then!). I stopped my piano practice after 5ish years, but I loved coming back for seasonal recitals and looking through their new book selections! A few years later, they helped us decide on a real piano for our home. They worked with our budget and are super knowledgeable. They even did a complementary tuning upon delivery to ensure satisfaction. My younger sister has now moved out of town for college so it has been a year since I last stopped by, but I drove by the other day and felt drawn to leave a review. It has always held a special place in my heart and I hope it continues to bloom. This is a staple Duluth Small business in my book.

Warning that this shop will NOT tune or help diagnose any issues with your piano if you decide to…read morebuy a piano elsewhere after visiting them. Sam called me a couple weeks after my visit to check if I was still interested in some grands I looked at and I told him that I had made a purchase elsewhere. He proceeded to use scare tactics to try to get to buy from him. Once he learned that I had already made the purchase and I asked for him to tune the piano he refused to send his technicians to tune or look at the piano. Not a good business model. You're better off buying a piano elsewhere and if you're forced to work with them, be very wary of their scare tactics. EDIT: After seeing the owner's response to my google review, I have removed an additional star. Anyone reading this review need not read further than the owner's response to see their attitude towards potential customers. Truly a shame as they have a lot of potential.

I am a piano teacher and I have been shopping at this location for many years. In general I am…read morevery pleased with the service and the selection. The staff is friendly, the shelves are well stocked, and they have a wide variety of music books and materials for piano. Anything they don't have they can order for your or get transferred from another store. It usually arrives within a few days and they are very conscientious about calling to let you know it arrived in the store for pick-up. If there is a specific song you are looking for they will search it online and print it right there in the store for you. They also have many good sales throughout the year. I have recommended the full-size digital pianos to my students and have always been pleased with the quality. Many times you can get full-size digital pianos for $400, which is a great deal for the decent quality. However, keep in mind that the staff works on commission so they will try and sell you the more expensive item. Listen to your music teacher, and get what they recommend, not the sales people. They have material for both ABRSM and NFMC Federated Festival. They are also very supportive of the local music teachers association. On a regular basic they provide hospitality and refreshments for our monthly meetings. Several of my high school students have also worked there over the summer. I like that they are good at hiring temporary summer help. The only thing to be cautious of is renting instruments. I have never rented so I don't have personal experience, but I have heard stories from my students renting instruments for band or orchestra. Make sure you know all the details of the contract you're signing and read all the fine print.

The person who I spoke with was friendly enough to have a short conversation about how truly unlucky it is to have a Klon pedal die on you. I remember I got weird techno-babble and serious condescension from the Guitar Center employee at North Point when I asked the same question. I've since returned to Town Center Music to get a setup on my acoustic guitar and some strings. Note that, like ANY music shop out there, there's likely going to be a long turn-around time. It never hurts to ask if you need an "emergency setup," but do understand that, unless you are Cliff Burton back from the dead, you aren't special, and they're doing nothing wrong by turning you down. Selection of pedals is above average. Guitars and amp selection is roughly average. I didn't see anything that particularly interested me, but Town Center Music is on top of my list for any guitar-related needs.

Our family has been using them for 4 years for all things guitar and highly recommend them for your music needs. We rented through them for a middle school band instrument and buy all their "supplies" there. W rises them for lessons as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

However, if you need to make a change to your billing information associated with lessons or music rentals, it cannot be done online, only over the phone. When you call, expect at least a 30-minute wait for "customer service". I finally called the store, and they were able to correct my billing information for lessons but not the rental. Then I had to spend another 30 minutes trying to get the instrument rental billing fixed. I finally just paid off the instrument balance so I wouldn't have to deal with them again. Finally, the way lessons are handled is a complete scam. Prior to the acquisition, if you needed to cancel a lesson in advance, you were not charged. Now you are charged regardless of when you cancel. You can "make up" the lessons, but this is nearly impossible during the summer when multiple weeks of lessons are being missed. The teacher doesn't have the flexibility to do that many make-ups. In short, it is a total scam. We will be looking for a new lesson location.
