They are a perfect match for each of my kids, respectively. Our older kiddo is about to participate in his first recital and I'm proud of him and thankful to have found this music school! The location is in the basement of a church, which threw me off at first, but there is no relation. The music rooms and waiting room are clean and cozy, but the common spaces are a bit dank. But that's just a distraction from the actual content of my review --- quality of instruction and management sucks. 2. "highly sought after teacher" / "works 6 days a week" - what this really means is you're understaffed and overworking your teachers. If they're working 6 days a week how can they possibly meaningfully engage with their students? Don't confuse lack of teacher supply with quality of teacher. Parents are smarter than that. 3. We provide welcome packets for instruction. This completely misses the point. What about meaningful parent engagement to ensure practice at home? What about recitals to showcase learning? A packet is not a replacement for meaningful dialogue and musical learning. I repeat - we were there for almost a year, RECITALS NEVER HAPPENED. We doubled up with voice lessons + piano lessons. Parents --- do the math, this was a terrible investment. Conclusion: We've been at ZTunes and have never been happier. As a parent, I'm too busy to throw shade or unnecessarily put down small businesses. This experience was severe enough for me to do so (TWICE), because I feel like I have an obligation to parents out there who are just looking for a meaningful musical experience for their children.
