My son's had regular dental care and luckily, great teeth- no cavities or braces- so he had a clean bill of health after a cleaning and exam at Marina Grins Dental. Taking a closer look at some of the reviews though, I'm nervous about a practice so eager to drill if they feel a stain could be the start of a cavity. Erm.. that feels a wee bit gung-ho. On the other hand, my son did have a positive experience, they were very polite and professional - and as one Yelper pointed out, great music! Practice is centrally located in the Marina. It's on the second floor but it has no elevator if you need disabled access, FYI.

When I…read moredisclosed that I have cancer, am already getting many PET/CT and other scans, and asked to defer dental X‑rays I had less than two years ago, the dentist first told me the ADA requires them every 18 months, even though ADA/FDA guidelines say low‑risk adults typically only need bitewing X‑rays every 24-36 months. After I pointed this out and explained I've had no cavities or issues in about 10 years, they still refused to treat me at all unless I agreed to new X‑rays, which felt like rigid policy and billable imaging were being prioritized over individualized care for a cancer patient with high radiation exposure.
