I had to write an update to my review because Dr. Wong is literally the best dentist ever. I recently had an accident on my bicycle that chipped a tooth and significantly moved another. It was overwhelming, but Dr. Wong was very quick in responding and found room in his schedule to see me with short notice. He was incredibly calm and compassionate during the whole experience. It's striking how much he truly cares for his patients on a human level, going above and beyond. The accommodation for emergency work or the flexibility in booking appointments are just a couple things to mention. But adding competent staff is the best thing about going to Dr. Wong's office. Just have to make a special shout out to Dr. Wong's hygienist, Ann. I actually look forward to going for a check up because Ann does a thorough job cleaning my teeth every time. I was looking for a new dentist after moving up here from Los Angeles. What initially brought me to Dr. Wong was the fact that he's listed on ZocDoc - which makes scheduling extremely fast and easy. Though, I must say I've been absolutely delighted by my experience with him and his office (how often do people say that about their dentist?). I initially only needed to stop in for a check up and regular cleanings, and even during these visits I felt Dr. Wong did a great job explaining things and made sure I was comfortable. However, this past Sunday I had a filling crack and come out while eating. I was able to quickly go online, schedule an appointment and get seen quickly the very next day! Was so easy working with Annie, his office admin, and the visit with Dr. Wong was easy, efficient and done with care and consideration. Feel fortunate to have stumbled into finding a great dentist and glad finally have a recommendation to family & friends when they ask. What can I say? I've been coming to Dr. Wong for a year and a half now and I'm going to try sticking with him for as long as I can! It had been quite some time before I stepped into a dentist's office before my first visit with Dr. Wong so I was ghastly afraid (people tinkering around with my teeth is one of my biggest fears). Dr. Wong was very thorough with me during my first visit and broke down all the work I was going to need. Wanted to write a detailed review, but got a bit lazy. To summarize, staff at this clinic are professional, warm, helpful, and caring. Dr. Derek Wong was excellent helping me with deep cleaning. But what touched me the most were two things: 1) Dr. Wong was the only dentist in my experiences so far who took his time to provide explanations and education re: the scans of my teeth, gum, and bones; 2) he told me that he chose dentistry over primary care because he could spend more time with his patients and build relationships with them. Take away: "hmm now I know these reviews are legit" :D Ohhh and I felt very safe going there during COVID. They did above and beyond to practice precautions and protect everyone in there. read more

Dr. Wong is a dentist with really awesome bedside manner!! I highly recommend him :) -------- I hate seeing dentists, I feel like every time I go to one it's a blood bath. I have anxiety, and would shake involuntarily. Therefore, every time I see a dentist it's like hell for me. I know, I should have flossed every single day three times a day, after I eat etc., but my laziness always get to me. Adding on my love for junk food and chocolate, there you go. Its not a surprise I have cavities! I changed recently from my previous dentist to dr. Wong because my last dentist was terrible and I always have to wait over an hour before being seen. Well that was a blessing in disguise because it forced me to look for a new dentist and I came across Dr. Wong! He's cool, on time, didn't hurt me, and was very gentle. He took care of my cavities really quickly, and it was much less painful than I had imagined. When I first booked with him I was somewhat worried because he looked young. I don't know how old he is but he can pass as a college student. However in person he acts very mature and professional despite his young looks. I always thought that older dentists might have more experience and better but he definitely proved me wrong. He's better than the dentists I had who are much older. Plus older dentists are probably more jaded, have poor eye sight and perhaps have less passion than the younger ones. Anyways I'm going off topic. Dr. Wong was straight forward about pricing etc because I have some shitty cheap Costco dental insurance. (He takes that insurance and he also doesn't over charges you!!) he made sure I didn't have to worry about how much I had to pay etc :). Annie who helped me book my appointments was also great, she was patient and remembered to check in with me and was always available to answer questions I had. Overall I think it was a wonderful experience, you should see him too! Don't wait to switch to dr. Wong if you have a shitty dentist like I did. Tips: book your appointment in advance! Annie at the front desk is really sweet and is nice when I'm forgetful about when my appointment is and I have to embarrassingly call two days after she called to remind me the first time. The art on the walls, the wooden panels, the whole atmosphere and interior design is nothing short of homely. To walk into Dr Wong's office is like walking out of the freezing cold and walking into a perfectly warmed and cozy home, sitting down in the most comfortable couch, and being handed the best tasting coffee while listening to your favorite jazz. I moved to SF for school and needed a follow up on my teeth. I was referred to Dr.Wong by my previous dentist. Dr.Wong is a young great dentist, and also a very nice cool guy. Him and his assistant are both respectful professionals that gets the job done well. I felt very comfortable and welcomed in their care. They talked to me casually and they were genuinely friendly and professional. After they were done, it was quick for me to set up my next appointment with their receptionist. For more details... The office is compact: very clean, organized, and cozy. It feels like a dental space without wasting any space. The waiting area has your usual stacks of magazines and comfy chairs. I've been going to Dr. Wongs office for a few years now. He is by far the best dentist I've ever had. When I moved to CA and was looking I picked his office because he had not only great reviews, but a picture of a funny Star Wars pun about teeth (I know what I'm about :p).... Best decision I've ever made :) He really cares about his patients and their well being. He's not the type to convince you to do any procedures you don't need either, which makes it so easy to just tell him when something is bothering you and get it looked at to have that peace of mind. He'll just take a look, make an assesment, and if its nothing serious he'll note to keep an eye on it and follow up at your next appt (and tell you to call him if it gets worse or is still bothering you before then). I was a little nervous at first to go to my first rescheduled appt during covid (I just wasn't sure what it would be like). But then I realized Dr. Wong has never let me down before so I confirmed and went in. His covid safety measures are great, and I felt completely at ease on arrival. You get a survey on your phone before even coming in. Then on arrival (wearing a mask) you get gloves, and glasses, and he and his team are suited up had to toe. You keep your mask on till its time to start your cleaning. I think they also stagger the visits so there is very little cross over time between patients being in the office at the same (I've gone twice since covid and only seen another patient arrive just as I'm leaving).
