I came to the Dermatology Inc office on Hazel Dell because my other Dermatology Inc doctor was scheduled out too far and i needed to see someone sooner. I was sent to Dr. Andrew, i needed an update for some light eczema that was not clearing up. The location is very easy to get to off Hazel Dell, plenty of parking and the waiting room is huge for a small office. The office staff is very courteous and professional. Dr. Andrew was awesome, got in with a magnifying glass and put his hands all over to look at my condition and was spot on with treatment. Our first round of treatments with creams didn't do the job as they were a little more advanced for them. So i came back. he did a shot in one location and gave me more potent ointments and so far they getting better. we shall see if they completely clear up. I just really liked his hands on approach, up front and was quick to ask "is there anything else we can look at or you want to talk about" you don't hear that very often most docs just want to get you in an out and don't care about your little questions and concerns about your body. I recumbent using him to anyone looking for a good dermatologist. I did not schedule an appointment. I cannot attest to the doctors themselves. I believe a mistake was made at the front desk, and wanted to provide feedback via e-mail except there is no e-mail in which I can privately give this feedback. I asked one of the women at the front desk if I could ask a question from the Physician's Assistant to see if it was a good idea to come in given the nature of what I may be coming in for. She said no, and to just schedule. The way she came across was not the best (basically rude), and I believe it was just an operational error in terms of how things are addressed. Potential patients don't want to schedule unnecessary appointments and pay out of pocket (I was considering). I believe an e-mail where a potential client or existing patient could provide feedback or ask questions about whether they should even come in or not may be a positive step in the right direction. Had an excision on Wednesday, November 20th. When leaving I was given a preprinted list of post op instructions nothing personalized to what the Dr. had told me at the time of appointment. The nurse let me borrow her pen to write it down for myself before leaving. I was told to leave the bandage the dr put on for 24 hours then start using Mupirocin that she would call into the pharmacy twice a day and keep it clean and covered. 24 hours came and went and the Mupirocin wasn't called into the pharmacy. I tried calling but of course got sent to voicemail (no voicemails are ever retuned from this office) so I sent a portal message. Finally the Mupirocin was called in. I was told if any signs if infection to call the on call if after hours 1-888-210-1476 and call the office if it was during business hours. My wound started to become infected about 6 days later. I called the office twice during business hours and of course was sent to voicemail. I sent a portal message; no reply. I called the voicemail number twice no one called me back. Finally my husband made me go to the ER. I sent a portal message again to the dr around 11 pm telling them I was going to the emergency room because urgent cares were no longer open. I was diagnosed with MRSA in the wound and prescribed doxycycline. ER told me to follow up on the next business day with my dr. The next morning I had a voicemail at 7 am from the dr. (My phone was on do not disturb because I was finally sleeping after my ER visit) the dr called me again at 7:05am. No other attempts to get in contact with me were made. So I called AGAIN; once again voicemail. This morning, Monday, December 2 I finally got a call back again at 7:00 am I missed the call and have been calling back every hour since. I have left 3 messages and sent two portal messages. My most recent call the receptionist asked what this was regarding and said "There are no notes on my chart about me calling." I am FURIOUS. This receptionist did find a nurse to talk to me. Not my drs nurse but another nurse and she also stated there is no record of me calling or what this is pertaining to. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! I am currently on accutane, which is a VERY strong acne medication. I started with Dermatology Inc. on the accutane medication and I am currently switching jobs. Since I switched jobs, my health insurance changed and I told Dermatology Inc. that I am willing to pay out of pocket to complete my accutane treatment. I only have 6-8 weeks left of my treatment plan, but Dermatology Inc. kicked me to the curb and said they could not accept self-pay and that they would not write me a prescription. They also would not recommend me to any other dermatologist who would accept self-pay. This is TERRIBLE patient service and I recommend everyone to go see any other dermatologist that is NOT Dermatology Inc. Very uncaring of Dermatology Inc. to not help their patient who is currently on a strong accutane acne progrm. 0/5 star patient service. read more

Hey guys just had the worst appointment of my life today! We can all agree that making your patients feel relaxed and comfortable is the bare minimum when it comes to working in health care, right? Not at this clinic; the nurse who helped me today (brown hair, claw clip, all black scrubs) made me so uncomfortable that I could not get myself to relax and pee for my monthly urine sample. I asked for some water and she reluctantly gave me a cup as if that was too much to ask for. After trying to pee again, I asked for one more cup of water and she literally had me take the same cup out of the trash and refill it- as if I haven't spent over a grand at dermatology inc for my treatments. Her facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language made me feel so uncomfortable and judged that I got more and more anxious and started to feel light headed. She then shoved a blood test at me and told me to go get my blood drawn instead because they had "other patients waiting". There were 2 other patients and more than 3 rooms available. After she raised her voice at me and shoved the blood tests at me, I had to rush to the closest lab and get my blood drawn while I was already light headed, ill, and had tears running down my face because of how poorly I was treated. I ended up passing out in public a few hours after the blood test because I was so overwhelmed. I also wasn't comfortable with the PA changing my prescription (because he's not my derm that I usually see and he's not a doctor). When I told him I don't want anyone but my doctor changing my meds, him and the nurse gave me the most unsettling look and refused to listen to me. I will never make an appointment at this clinic again and I will never show up to a doctor's office without my own water cup because apparently those are too much to ask for. read more

I made an appt. with Dr. Christopher Bohyer on April 24, 2018 to have a mole looked at. I told the mr. Boyher the mole was large and I was worried that it could some day be malignant. He said no problem, he would cut it out just to be sure. I asked him about the cost and he asked me if I had given my insurance information to the front desk, which I had. He checked with the receptionist, came back, and told me that there would be no charge and that it was all covered under my insurance policy. I then mentioned that I had two other spots on my skin and asked his opinion whether those should be removed as well. He said, "since there's no cost, I don't see any reason not to have them removed". He then said, "I will need to send all the samples to the lab to have them tested by a pathologist to make sure they are not malignant. That way we can classify the procedure as a necessary procedure rather than just a cosmetic procedure to make sure it's all covered." I agreed with him and the entire process took less than 30 min. And then 6 MONTHS later I get an invoice for $1,060!! I ignored the first invoice because I had been told there would be "no out of pocket expenses". A month after that my account was sent to a collection company. After calling the dermatologist office multiple times, they're only solution was that they could give me a cash discount. Of course the doctor would not speak to me, and when I asked the billing department why the doctor had lied to me, their response was "insurance didn't cover it." Does it make logical sense that I would order multiple procedures without having any idea of the cost? Does it make sense that I would add additional procedures on top of the initial visit without know that there would be a cost or what that cost would be? Of course not, a logical person doesn't request a bunch of non-life threatening medical procedures without first knowing the cost. Mr. Bohyer handled the situation unprofessionally. Mr. Bohyer does not have integrity. I'm going to go ahead and pay my fees and move on with my life. But my fear is, how many other people has Mr. Boyher done this too? Is this the un-written office policy, to lie about what the patient will be charged and then bill them 6 months later? I wonder how many other people Mr. Boyher has taken advantage of. The general public typically holds the medical profession in high regard, but you have tainted that image. Shame on you sir, shame on you. read more

Dr. Stephens and his nurse were great. The lady at the front desk was BEYOND unprofessional and rude. I needed to schedule getting my stitches out in two weeks and the receptionist threw a fit because her schedule only went to the 20th. She was unwilling to assist with scheduling at other locations on 12/31 and proceeded to tell me that I picked the wrong time to get this done bc most offices are closed. She asked me approximately 5 times why I could not schedule for 1/2 and I repeatedly explained that I was unable to come on 1/2 or 1/3 and would be out of town for work the week after that which is why the doctor said to go to another Derm Inc location on 12/31. She then chastised me further and asked if my PCP could do it. She then huffed and puffed, snapped at the nurse for not having my paperwork, and then complained that there were a ton of people behind me. I walked out feeling panicked bc I had no one to remove my stitches. I called another Dermatology Inc location and got scheduled on 12/31 to get my stitches removed within that 5 minute phone call that the rude receptionist should have done in the first place. If the receptionist would have done her job correctly the first time instead of huffing, puffing, and being rude to someone who has never dealt with stitches before, she wouldn't have held up an entire line of people. Because of her rude and flat out MEAN demeanor, I will NEVER go to the Hazel Dell location again. read more
