I found Dermoloji Skin Lab here on Yelp when I originally was looking for a dermatologist. I had some some strange skin bumps on my face that I didn't know what they were, and didn't even know if they were fixable. I am a guy, so I was reluctant to get anything looked at or treated in regards to my completion because guys don't usually care about that stuff; but wow am I glad I did. Upon my consultation with Keiren I could tell she knew what she was talking about. She told me the bumps I had are over active skin glands and it's called Hyperplasia and are definitely treatable. So we set up an appointment for later that day and she went to town cleaning and working on my face. I guess it was pretty bad because It took about 2 hours on the first session. After she finished my face was a little tender but nothing to bad. After a day or two the bumps started to heal, then after a week a majority of them were gone. I was stoked! Keiren was keeping in touch with me via text asking how I was, which was a nice touch. Then after a couple weeks she asked me to send a pic of my face so she could see how it looked, so I did. Then she said "okay, looks better, but I'm not happy with the results, come in and I'll do another session on me." All I can say is wow, that's awesome. I have had facials done by multiple aestheticians all over LA and OC. Keiren knows her stuff. I had facial with her and my skin looked the best I have seen it in a long time. Just be prepared she only accepts cash, check and pay pay. I was not aware of this so had to drive to an ATM to pay her after my service. I don't usually review, but I absolutely LOVE Keiren! I have had problems with brown spots from the sun on my face. Her treatments are aggressive enough to remove those spots, but never have been more than my skin can handle. Let me start off by saying I had cystic acne from the age of 11 to 19, meaning I have incredibly bad scarring--and lots of it! My scars are inverted (pocking) making them not only ugly but also difficult to get rid of. I have been working on alleviating the scarring for years, even having expensive laser treatments which seemed to work initially but the results faded. It is difficult to express exactly what Keiren has done for me this past year. Let me start at the beginning... I have had acne ever since I can remember. I have been to multiple dermatologists, taken prescription medications (which always gave me side effects, so I discontinued), used every different type of skin system from "low end" to "high end" (out of sheer desperation) and have tried holistic methods. I have never had beautiful skin which would allow me to go "naked" face out in public. As bad as I had it, however, something worse happened last year. This past fall my skin hit its all time low. I recently had a birthday (close to 30 ;D) and I was literally COVERED in breakout. Clusters of breakout. Keiren was great: professional, friendly, knowledgeable. I went their to get my eyebrows shaped (this is James' wife, NOT James!!! haha! :)) I've had my brows waxed, threaded, and/or tweezed over the last few years. I always tell the person that i like my brows to remain "full", & to just give them a little shape, but sometimes I'm left w/ thinner than preferred brows. That was not the case this time. Keiren really listened to me, explained what & how she was going to do & kept checking on my comfort level. Very happy with my new brows. Keiren suggested treatment for a couple of small skin "issues" on my face, however, she was not one bit pushy about selling me on the treatments or products. Keiren has been a miracle worker. I started getting a little acne when I was in fifth grade, it was not that bad, then last year when I was in sixth grade, it started to get worse. Now I'm in seventh grade, and it has been horribly embarrassing. I have tried so many products and some made my face even worse. I have tried Proactiv, Clean and Clear, Dermalogica, and other over the counter products. They have all failed me. Proactiv was the worst for me, though. Over the summer, I started going to an aesthetician, but she did not work. She was all for the natural stuff, and she was the one that got me on Dermalogica. I stopped going to her after about three months. For quite some time, I was just using whatever my mom had found at the store. I had to embrace the bad acne because I thought I would never find anyone actually for me. I never thought I would have a clear face again, only until my mom had found Keiren. My mom was reading about a dermatologist that my regular doctor referred. She didn't like what she was reading and wasn't real crazy about me going to a dermatologist and possibly being on medication. But my mom knew how bad my acne bothered me. So she kept reading reviews and trying to find a good dermatologist. While she was researching she found Keiren, totally by accident, and read all of the positive reviews she got. She called Keiren and after talking to her made a life changing appointment for me. I was a bit skeptical, though, because I did not know what she was about and what products she had. Then, my mom and I walked into her office for my first appointment, and I am so glad I stepped in there. Keiren gives very detailed and explicit information. She will not let you leave with any unanswered concerns or questions. I have to say I was freaking out the first few weeks because I was peeling and breaking out a lot. Keiren would have my mom text her pictures of my face throughout the process to see how my face looked, she could tell if I needed to back off on a product or add something back in. When I had concerns about something going on, we could text her day or night any day of the week and she would answer us. I have sun damage, acne damage, and the brown masking on my face. Seems to have gotten worse with age and have spent thousands of dollars on expensive products and been to a few dermatologists. I've been told that laser treatment will make it worse, I'm Hispanic and sometimes with olive skin laser will damage it even further. I was referred to Keiren and she has worked wonders with my skin. She's so attentive and is very aggressive at getting the results you want. The spotting and masking is fading, the texture of my skin overall is amazing.
