Going to Mel was literally the biggest mistake I have ever made. My lips crack everyday and they look like this everyday you can see in the middle it basically looks purple. They bleed because they have too much pigment and are super wrinkly making them look old I now miss my colorless natural lips. This has been so horrible for my mental health. Still hating it and wanting to crash out everyday because now I can't even line my lips the way I used to. all you see is the ugly pigment poking through even my favorite lip products look horrible on me. I will be posting my follow up results because I was also told they would lighten up I was told they would blend over time none of that has happened and they continue to look worse overtime and my symptoms of my lips cracking and bleeding, which has never happened to me before this procedure continues to happen making my life miserable every day. I DO NOT recommend anything permanent here tbh even anything at all because you don't know what results you're actually going to get she just does whatever and moves on, like my face isn't permanently altered . Given all of Mel's stellar reviews and the way I responded with understanding when she cancelled my appointment 3 different times on the day of, I really do not understand why she treated me so horribly - other than I was trying to book with a Groupon that my kids had bought me for Mother's Day. You can see from the texts that I was supportive of her needing to reschedule the first time because she was working on her finals for her landscape architect degree. I cheered her on. I thought it was great she was furthering her education and even asked about it later. The next time, she really didn't give a clear reason because she initially offered the time slot and then the day of said she needed more time than that appointment would allow, but again, I was fine with it and booked another time slot. It's now been ten days and the morning of my third appointment she texts me that she is in pain and needs to reschedule. She said it might be her gall bladder or she might be dying. She offered me some slots, including ones that were two weeks away. But I have a new job and a wedding coming up and wanted to make certain I have time to heal beforehand. I running out of time. At 9:26 am, she offered me the slot for the next day at noon. One minute later, I responded with "OK," and asked her how she knew she'd be better. I told her if she wasn't better tomorrow, that I'd understand and I'd ask for a refund from Groupon. I was not rude or aggressive. She has cancelled last minute 3 different times and I was still polite. You can see by the texts, that is when she became belligerent and started lying about the appointment. I immediately said ok to the appointment time and then tells me she took me off the calendar. She said I didn't confirm, but I had said ok one minute after she offered it. Mel was not apologetic in the least and it was apparent she didn't care about providing me any kind of customer service or consideration for her repeatedly cancelling at the last minute. I was so excited to get my eyeliner done again. And my kids were happy they got me a gift I liked so much. It is a shame that Mel seems to resent people wanting to use the Groupon that she offers because she said she loses money. Then why offer it? It's a marketing expense. Please don't be nasty because I pay you money for your services exactly as you advertised on Groupon. I wouldn't recommend her at all. She may do good work (or not, I never had the chance to find out for myself), but she seems to be a seriously vindictive person and lacks good customer service skills. In the end, not someone I want with a needle near my eye. I could only image how she'd react if she messed up the procedure. Just like the way she behaved with canceling on me, she probably would fail to take responsibility for that as well. Bad luck is what she said about her cancelling over and over. It's sad that she tainted my kid's Mother's Day gift, but I'll find someone else and re-write my experience to end on a good note. read more

It took me a few days to think about how to write this review but here I am... I don't get Brazilian waxes as often as I should but I try to every few months especially before I leave on vacation. I have a lot of previous experiences with sugaring. I don't have much hair down there for starters so it has always gone pretty smoothly. I stumbled upon this business through their scheduling site Vagaro. After seeing what a great deal it was, I checked out their Yelp and everything looked pretty flawless. I came to find out the price was an error in the system but they were still kind enough to honor it. Upon arrival, Amelia had me fill out forms and I noticed a room that was occupied and to the other side of the room was just a bed and a room divider/panel. It didn't cover the entire thing so there's not much privacy. Amelia asked me to change and then when we began she gave me an astringent/toner to "clean myself" which I thought was strange because I never had to do this myself. She began pulling the wax from the container (something else I've never seen as I've only witness warm/soft wax being used initially). She ripped her gloves three times while attempting this and that's when I began wondering if she's ever done this before. So we began the wax process and it was actually pretty painful because I could feel my skin/hair being tugged on. She kept pouring the entire bottle of powder down there about 8 times (yes I counted). Overall, it was a MESSY experience and I was there for almost half an hour. She gave me a damp towel at the end of session so I can once again clean myself. One strange thing that happened at the end was Amelia asked me if she can take an "after" photo so she can show her boss if she did a good job. Which I think is really inappropriate and I have never been asked this before. I waited a few days and noticed there was a dry/irritating patch on the sides. It is now day 6 and my hairs have already started growing in. Although Amelia was really nice, it just seems like waxing is not their area of expertise. And I would never pay the original price. read more

My melasma is a battle but Mel and I are still fighting it. The past skin peel treatments we used Jessner peel on my stubborn brown patches and it was amazing how my skin was peeling off like sheets. The pictures I'm posting are NOT from my Jessner peel but they are from another pigmentation treatment peel. I did peel with it but nothing like Jessner's. Both peels are painless, only mild discomfort from the tightness felt around the lips and forehead once the skin start to break and she. The lovely thing is that Melissa provides you recommendation with products to care for you face while recovering and to use after. My browns spots are slowly getting lighter but my pores, WOWZERS, they've shrunk a lot. Today was a first ever Facial. In this COVID time, I knew that I wanted a facial a hopefully relaxing treat for myself. I found this spa on yelp and sent in the request for an appointment asking if they also did dermaplaning. It was after 8 pm so I did not expect a response until the next morning. In the Morning I found that Mel had actually answered me within a few minutes of my request! Wow, since I had put in requests to others in the week and never recieved a response.
