Manager was outright rude never looked at jacket. Brand new from there store. Never worn but to try on. It was purchased there and will definitely be the last time in that store. Reported all of there bad behavior to Carhartt. They are investigating the bad business practices. The lies just keep coming from this manager and store. They told me they can't Exchange without tags cause Carhartt policy. Please people just beware of all these bad practices. It is just not worth it so many good businesses to support. I just had a very poor customer service experience here. The cashier (sorry, didn't catch her name) was really rude. i felt as though I was bothering her. When the rewards number didn't come up under my number, I gave her a couple of different numbers, and I saw her roll her eyes at me. The account was under my son's old phone number. I asked her if I should change it, and she asked me if he even uses it anymore. I felt like I was being dismissed and this will be the last time I spend money there. I'd rather drive to Menard's and get friendly check out service. The good part was the young man working in the back who directed me to the hardware that I needed. This used to be my favorite hardware store. Unfortunately, I can no longer shop there. None of the employees that I saw were wearing masks in that tiny closed in hardware store. They have no regard for anyone's health or safety. I walked in and noticed the 2 cashiers were not masked. I turned around to leave but was trapped because the entrance door has no handle on the inside. To get out you have to walk around the store to the other side. Fortunately, another employee was exiting the building and I asked him to open the door for me from the outside. He was also not masked. I left as fast as I could. Ridiculous. Everyone wears masks at the Ace on 9 and Mack in St Clair shores. I will shop there from now on. read more

Had a very good experience there! Was able to cross off a lot of my covid-19 shopping there. They have everything from toilet paper, to craft tools, to guns. I'm really, REALLY torn about my review of this place. The positives: - Very friendly staff. - Staff that knows a lot about a lot of different things. - Excellent variety of items in-stock - You can rent tools there for reasonable prices for one-off projects - They fix things when they break The negatives: - Follow up is a bit lacking So, back at the end of July, I dropped my primary lawnmower (I have a spare, but this is in far better condition) off because it refused to stay running. I am not a mechanic. I do not pretend to be a mechanic. I do not even pretend to begin to understand how engines work. Not my area of expertise. After searching and reading reviews on a number of places, I brought my lawnmower here (again: "end of July"...keep that in mind) to be looked at and fixed. $10 diagnostic fee that'll be applied to whatever bill to fix it? Totally reasonable. Give them a few days to look at it and then they'll call me? Totally reasonable. Call me the very next day and tell me what's wrong with it, what it's going to cost to fix it, and that it'll only take a few days to be done? Perfect, thank you. Call me three days later and say "Hey, I have this ticket here...and there's no note on whether or not anyone called you about fixing it..." ...and okay, everyone has issues, no problem, yep, go ahead and fix it. Besides, I have the spare mower. No biggie. Call me again after another few days go by...and...we have...the exact...same...conversation? Now I'm getting annoyed. But I have other things going on in my life, and I still have that spare mower...and so when I suddenly realize "Hey...it's SEPTEMBER...and I still don't have my mower back..." ...yeah, now I'm kinda torqued off. So I call, ask about my mower..."Oh yeah...it's done. There's a note on here that we called and there was no answer..." ....and voice mail is beyond your capabilities? You don't think "Hey, we've had this guy's mower here for like six weeks...maybe we should call him?" Meh. So that part was seriously annoying...but I went down, picked it up, and it runs like a champ again. So like I said - everything was great...except that follow up and follow through. Old Time value and customer service. Started out shopping for a new water heater as the old one was 15 years old and I figured replace it while i have the money and before it bursts. Sooo went to Home Depots and Lowes in the area and was shocked at the prices. So I stopped into DeRonnes for their Carhartt days sale to get some shirts, well long story short they had water heaters on sale and the top rated heater by trade magazines on sale. Well it happened again . A rude cashier treating me like I was bothering her by spending my money in the store. This time it was Gina. I love this store and I spend a lot of money in there every year. I think she should at least be suspended for a couple of days. Hate to see anyone get fired for needing an attitude adjustment. I can't tout this store highly enough. Whether I need just a simple item, or a larger purchase, we (hubby and I) always try to purchase from DeRonnes. One of the things I like most about them is their customer service. You don't wander around the aisles feeling helpless because you can't find something, they offer to help right away. (Unlike Lowes or Home Depot. ) At the same time they are not intrusive. If you do want to "just wander" and shop without help they will leave you alone. Many times I've popped in there to get ideas and have said "just looking today" and am left alone without feeling hassled. The neighborhood "mom and pops" have been driven out of our area by the bigger stores, and I hope that never happens to this one. read more

I prefer shopping at a local business. More so, then supporting the big bucks doors. In particular, I absolutely love the hardware store. They always have varieties of 1 looking for. All of their employees are always very super helpful and friendly. The prices are great. They have a value rewards program when I receive coupons and discounts frequently. It's late out in a way that make sense to me :-) and, you can also rent power equipment that you may need. For example, 1 time I needed to break up some concrete. I was able to read it but when I needed in return of the same day there really fast efficient way. I know going to my local big box hardware store would not have been the same. Some of the other local ma and pop hardware stores feel the need to follow you around the store and exert their "service" upon you, even when not requested. I've actually found their prices to be comparable and sometimes surprisingly cheaper that home depot or lowes. I'll check out home depot or lowes prices online then check deronnes and find what i'm looking for at about the same price. The customer service is not even close. It's rare, very rare that you can find an employee at home depot that has even a modicum of knowledge on any home improvement item, let alone it's location in the store. Christ, just being bored walking around you'd figure they'd learn the ins and outs of their work environment, Deronnes on the other hand has people always asking (not hounding) if you need assistance. I'm a transplanted west-sider and never thought I'd find a hardware comparable to Dukes (dearborn heights). But Deronnes is most definitely equal. If you live close by, it's sort of a waste of time to go anywhere else. read more

I have been using this store a long time and I must say I only come here! Not only do they always have friendly, very helpful staff, they have everything I need that no other place has!! I have a older vacuum and I'm not sure many people realize the overwhelming excitement when you are out of vacuum bags, no one has your bags in stock, and you can go right around the corner and they always have them in stock. I'm the kind of person who vacuums daily or multiple times a day with having pets, and let me tell ya a day without vacuuming will throw your OCD into overdrive. Also with me being a groomer Dremel heads are a must with Nail Trims for me and they always have those in stock - to. Everytime I walk in it's almost like a home feeling it is hard to describe you can tell it's been around for a long time. They keep the store neat and clean and I love going in there every time I leave I am in a good mood from the friendly, upbeat, helpful staff and not only that everything I've ever needed I've always gotten from them. Even to make a last minute copy of something it only cost me $0.10 and no one ever charges 10 cents for anything anymore. I can't even get a gumball from the gum machine for $0.10 anywhere it's always 25 or 50 cents lol but it's just the feeling of appreciation and feeling like a valued customer. I will even get a $5 in store purchase coupon mailed to me occasionally and that is awesome. So far I have gotten my last minute vacuum belts, my Dremel heads, even the occasional bag of popcorn from their fresh popcorn machine for the kids. When my animals tore the screen on one of my windows I went right up there and they had it fixed for me right away and even sold me the pets screen which I've never heard of and it wasn't even that much more money so in other words it was pretty cheap lol and that same screen has lasted 3 years so far still in great shape! With every time my dogs want to come inside they scratch at the window or the screen when they get excited at me when I asked them do you want to come in and that darn screen doesn't have a thing wrong with it so it is very durable and it was worth paying the extra money for that screen because it's lasted so much longer. So in other words, I am leaving this review to let everyone know I am beyond satisfied and will be a continued repeat satisfied customer at this place. I don't know about a lot of things being a single mother and not knowing how to fix many things but all I have to do is explain what I want and the employees here are beyond helpful. I needed some old boxes to move before and they went right in the back and gave me some boxes they were getting ready to throw out. I was stuck in the door aisle one day trying to figure out for the life of me which would be the easiest door knob to replace for my kids door never replacing a door knob in my life, two employees came over to assist me at once and I tell you they were so helpful they got me the easiest but yet most durable door knob and I know it seems like it's so simple but it's the simple things that matter to me. It is a mom and pop shop type of setting and I am a huge candy fan they have all the old candies! I love Sanders chocolate fudge they even have Sanders milk and dark chocolate candy for sale. I have not been able to find that candy in years. So do try this place out, you should be just as satisfied as I am and they're open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. I believe which to me are awesome hours inconvenient my high demand schedule best. I purchased the Hot Shot No-Pest Strip from DeRonne True Value Hardware in Eastpointe, Michigan on 10/5/18. I opened the package and realized it was not what I needed to help kill fruit flies. When I tried to return the product with the original receipt, the manager (Henry) acknowledged that this was not the product I needed and even provided home remedy suggestions to help with my issue. However, he refused to give me a refund or even an exchange at that time and advise I come back closer to the 30 day deadline return policy because I had opened the package. Although a small amount ($8.99) I didn't want to pay for something I can't use. In addition, I noticed that the product has a cancer causing agent in the ingredients and I am a breast cancer survivor so I definitely did not want this in my home. After writing a letter to the manufacture I just received my check for $8.99 from them because of the money back "guarantee" listed on the back of the product. Horrible customer service experience and I've made sure to tell all my neighbors about it. Henry, ya'll need to do better!! read more

I've been a customer of this store since 1992 and I have spent a lot of money in this store over the years and have always received great service here. However this past week that changed! I was in line to spend some more of my money to buy some topsoil. When the customer in front of me walked away from cashing out, I waited for the cashier to call the next customer , when she did I approached and she rolled her eyes and shook her head as if to say "what an idiot" then she asked me a question, when I answered she barked at me" you are going to have to speak up", I must have really been bothering her with my being a paying customer. This lady has worked there for years and never treated me that way before.... I was not amused and I am wondering if I will return to this store. I have to treat my customers with respect at my job and I expect the same when I am a customer, maybe she is going through the change or something, anyway, I think I might just go to lowes from now on. read more

Not impressed by the plumbing department and cashiers. Looked for a couple of cartridges to fix my Price-Pfister faucet. A major brand faucet - I thought no problem - these guys will have it. The young man gave me cartridges that looked similar but not an exact match. I asked if the cartridges were returnable if they didn't fit the faucet. An older gentleman that worked there said as long as they weren't "mangled" I could return them. I brought them back to get a refund and immediately got an attitude from the cashier. It seems DeRonne Hardware won't give a refund unless checking with the afore mentioned older gentleman. The cashier (older, brunette, glasses) needs to leave. She was also rude to another customer trying to make a return when I was making my original plumbing purchase. Miss if you don't like your job do us all a favor and just quit. I went here because of a time pinch. I won't be back again. Do yourselves a favor and visit Gilbert's Hardware on Harper in St. Clair Shores. Never had a bad experience there. The staff at Gilbert's is always friendly and they have always had the particular part I've needed. read more
