Absolutely awful experience at Shearer Dentistry this morning. The receptionist canceled my…read moreappointment to my face after I had already checked in at the desk 15 minutes prior. They claimed they lost power after a storm the night before and only had 3 rooms working. Somehow, they KNEW that and felt confident in failing to mention it literally ANY time before arrival and/or check-in. They actively chose to inconvenience their patients by making them waste time/gas driving to their office, waiting in the lobby and thinking they were going to move forward with their appointments. I was not the only patient this happened to, as they were talking over each other at the desk discussing other patients they needed to cancel on. I drove over 45 minutes to get to this appointment by the way after being awake all night after the previously mentioned massive thunderstorm. All of the traffic lights were out and I drove in danger to arrive to my appointment on time. They knew they didn't have power and still chose to cancel on me 15 minutes after I checked in in person. All they did was "thank me for my patience" like I had any other option. Then they had the audacity to reschedule me for AUGUST. They have completely ruined and warped my perception of them and I will never be a customer here again.

We lucked out to get a cancellation spot at 8 am and were taken back for her new patient appointment tbh 8:15. My 86 yo Mother had been having trouble with her dentures not fitting due to aging. The dental assistants and the physician were so pleasant to speak with and very gentle with their care. They let us know from the beginning they couldn't absolutely guarantee a same day denture, but they worked it out and had it done by end of day! Dr Herfel and staff, thank you again for still being the great place my Mom remembers visiting many years ago!

You're not supposed to look like you are ready to build a dam with beavers either. The temporary plate fit and looked great. I told them i wanted the perm one exactly the same. They took the mold and then i looked like a buck tooth. They redid them and they weren't right. I tried to wear them but they're offset to the left. I told them and they basically told me we're done with you. I've been toothless for 4 years because i had to go on disability and I can't afford another one. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. What's the bad part, I paid cash and this is how they treat a cash customer. i

He is very nice and explains everything to you in detail. The office staff is friendly as well, and helpful with scheduling apps, etc. I was so nervous to go a 'new' dentist but was put at ease immediately. So if you need extensive dental work, cosmetic dental work or just general dental work, like me, I had an extraction and a filling replaced, then this dentist is what your looking for. The only thing I wish they did, was give me directions on what to do after getting a tooth pulled. Because I got a dry socket afterwards BUT Dr. Foote packed it yesterday and I feel soooo much better. I think that is a minor issue and should NOT stop you from choosing this place. It's in a great location too. Just off Hwy. 42 in Florence, near the older Boone Co. library.

Then I would come out with a long expensive list of recommended procedures. Naturally that didn't incentivize me to schedule lol. I found Dr Mulcahy through the desire for change and I am EXTREMELY thankful I did! I had a rather large filling fall out & that is exactly what he fixed, rather expertly I might add! I felt nothing with the numbing shot, not even a pinch. There was some discomfort during the procedure which was caused by the prior dentist getting way too close to the nerve. He put a barrier between the nerve & the filling to try and help with sensitivity. I am giving it a few weeks to see if a root canal will be needed (again since the prior work had been done too close to the nerve). Regardless I am scheduling all future appointments here!! I highly recommend you do the same! Dr Mulcahy & the staff were PHENOMENAL!!
