What Fun! This cute little old eatery has epic hot-dogs and sausages... and they carry 'Nathan's' dogs, which I believe are the brand used on Coney Island, NY. I had a Chicago, hubby a Seattle.... Both cooked to order, and served in an epic dog roll. Fries were hot and crispy, dogs were a bit greasy, but coming from the dog house.... That's what one might expect. This place had all the trimmings.... Sweet pickle relish (yum) onions, even ketchup and mustard & Mayo. Five stars from us.... We're just dying to go back and try all the different kinds.

$11 for a " Chicago dog" that you have to make yourself?!??! Not have any of the correct ingredients...please just take it off your menu, it's a disaster. I had the employee take it off my bill. I'm just saying when you're this far from home and you're craving a Chicago dog., and they give you a hotdog on the wrong bun for starters, they don't have sport peppers or tomatoes or the right pickle/ relish, and they wanted me to make it ..WTF . Please, for your own safety, before a white Sox's fan comes in and orders one and lets you know in the most southside way it's NOT a Chicago DOG!!

I have lived here and driven past this place for 10 years and this is the first time I tried it. My wife got the Chicago dog which is a long Nathan's dog with everything you can think of on it. I got the chorizo dog which was served naked. Inside there is a huge fixings bar with relish, sauerkraut, cheese, multiple kinds of mustard, BBQ sauce, etc. so my dog looked like her's after I tarted it up. Almost all the dogs are $11. The menus you find on line are old and out of date and the website that yelp takes you to has nothing to do with this place. The onion rings are big, greasy and delicious and enough for 3 people. Beautiful sunny day to eat outside but we could have done without the loud Bob Dylan music playing on a loudspeaker and I am a Dylan fan. Two dogs, 2 bottles of Modello, 1 onion ring order, tax and tip $46. Bigger dog at a certain big box store but minus the wonderful fixings.

Hubby and I stopped by the dog house today for lunch. This was his first time here and it's been a long while since my last visit here! Hi y ordered a chili dog with tater tots and I ordered the waterland dog with onion rings. Our food came out fairly quick and everything was cooked to perfection. Mine was covered in onions and they were still a little firm but a real good addition with the cream cheese, bacon and hot dog! Hubby went in and out chili and cheese on his hotdog. The onion rings were on point! Light crust around the rings and they were cooked perfectly! Hubby's tots were crispy on the outside just as they should be! Hubby and I sat outside at one of 3 tables. There was only 1 other lady sitting at another table while we were there so perfect social distancing for COVID19. The best part in my opinion is the loyalty card program they have. You buy 10 hotdogs and you get one free! That makes me want to go there more as they appreciate your business for being a repeat customer.

So you like Hotdogs, saw this on Yelp and wondered if you should even drop in huh? Well let me tell you the simple answer you expect to read/hear! Yes! Come by, today there were two employees, who were very kind and friendly. It made me laugh when I asked them for a recommendation as this is my first visit. The gentleman said the water land and I am glad I went with his recommendation. "It smacks!" Best said by the employee haha. I also got a Chili dog and a Chicago dog as well. To my surprise it was self serve toppings for those. Regardless I got them to go and easily found my way around with the help of the lady employees guidance. Thank you both. I will be back!

They used the microwave to prepare the hot dog. If you like microwave food, this is your go to place.

Cute little place but parking sucks. Seattle dog was very good! Lots of condiments to add to your hot dog.

And the Top Gun is well worth the value paid for the amount of meat and cheese. But the Buns are awful. Like...hot dog Buns bit soggier. Spend a little more on quality rolls and you've got a banger. And somebody, for the love of all that is holy, take the salt shaker from the cook. If they would improve the roll to so.ething bigger and hardier and laid off the salt this would be a solid 5 star hole in the wall cheesesteak shop. I'll try back in a couple months to see if they actually read their reviews and make some changes.

Im pretty sure it was just a hotdog bun. either way, it was soggy and rubbery. The meat was okay, and its probably the only redeeming factor of the whole experience, which isnt saying much. It was super salty and a little bit chewy. I got my sandwich as a delivery and they just wrapped this soggy mess in tin foil and called it good. half the sandwich was just stuck to the tin foil when i unwrapped it. While i cant say this is the worst philly ive had in washington, its probably in my bottom 5.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.
