This place was so cute! It's a quaint building with a menu of hot dogs, sausages & corn dogs made different ways. There is seating both inside & outside. My friend & I recently dined here outside on the patio. We both ordered Seattle Dogs, Onion Rings & Crinkle Cut Fries. We also got canned drinks that we grabbed from a cooler. We enjoyed the meal & our outdoor dining experience. You can see brief glimpses of the water from the patio & we dined just before sunset so it was beautiful. We started out as the only customers there & the patio was full by the time we left. There was only one staff member working but she took care of us well & she made our to-go order when we were ready to leave so it would be fresh. I came and she was making an order for some ground workers at Alaska Airlines that filled a huge box. I think it was almost full as she apologized there will be a delay. This is what a owner owned, one person operation is like and you have to understand her situation. Come here for a hot dog with whatever fixings you can imagine where many you add from a buffet of toppings. This is mostly a to-go place, but they have places both inside and outside to sit and enjoy your hot dog. I love small shops that specialize that are labors of love from the owners. What Fun! This cute little old eatery has epic hot-dogs and sausages... and they carry 'Nathan's' dogs, which I believe are the brand used on Coney Island, NY. I had a Chicago, hubby a Seattle.... Both cooked to order, and served in an epic dog roll. Fries were hot and crispy, dogs were a bit greasy, but coming from the dog house.... That's what one might expect. I have lived here and driven past this place for 10 years and this is the first time I tried it. My wife got the Chicago dog which is a long Nathan's dog with everything you can think of on it. I got the chorizo dog which was served naked. Inside there is a huge fixings bar with relish, sauerkraut, cheese, multiple kinds of mustard, BBQ sauce, etc. so my dog looked like her's after I tarted it up. Almost all the dogs are $11. The menus you find on line are old and out of date and the website that yelp takes you to has nothing to do with this place. The onion rings are big, greasy and delicious and enough for 3 people. Beautiful sunny day to eat outside but we could have done without the loud Bob Dylan music playing on a loudspeaker and I am a Dylan fan. I would give them at least a 4 star review. However, I just tried to eat there, at 6:30PM April 14 2024, and was turned away. There were about 5 men in their 50's / 60's, blaring music and I walked up and almost entered the building. One of them shouted above the music 'hey we are closed' before I could cross the door. Hubby and I stopped by the dog house today for lunch. This was his first time here and it's been a long while since my last visit here! Hi y ordered a chili dog with tater tots and I ordered the waterland dog with onion rings. Our food came out fairly quick and everything was cooked to perfection. Mine was covered in onions and they were still a little firm but a real good addition with the cream cheese, bacon and hot dog! Hubby went in and out chili and cheese on his hotdog. The onion rings were on point! Light crust around the rings and they were cooked perfectly! Hubby's tots were crispy on the outside just as they should be! Hubby and I sat outside at one of 3 tables. There was only 1 other lady sitting at another table while we were there so perfect social distancing for COVID19. The best part in my opinion is the loyalty card program they have. There are two kinds of chopped pickles, peppercinis, jalapenos, kraut, chopped tomatoes, onions, cheese and many more. They usually have unique daily specials as well. We tried the Cajun dog smothered in Jambalaya one day and it was terrific and as messy as you can imagine. They also have nearly ten mustards from sweet to sour to hot as hell. I've been to better local hotdog stands in Seattle or North Bend, but it's still delicious! It is a small building with a nice front patio with outdoor seating. There is limited parking behind the building but you can easily park on the side streets and walk. There were two people working in there, and they were very welcoming and down to earth. This place is very casual so come as you are. I really enjoyed the empanadas. I ordered beef and chicken. I usually go for beef for anything but the chicken tastes better than the beef. We finally arrived in SeaTac on the last leg of this vacation. Our hotel is here and we fly out super early to return to Michigan. I was on Yelp looking for someplace to eat and found a popular Fish and Chips place here in Des Moines with great reviews. The place was packed with an hour wait and no parking in sight. I grabbed my phone and summoned my Yelp app again, looking for another option. I find this Des Moines Doghouse a block away. This is when it dawns on me. I haven't had a SEATTLE DOG yet!! This place is close, has great reviews, significantly cheaper, parking close by, and gives me a chance to try the local cuisine!! OMG it's perfect!! What an awesome little place. This lady inside is running it alone. Does everything. Takes orders, cooks, runs the register, brings out the food, buses the tables. This made the wait a little longer, but holy hotdogs it was worth it! I ordered 2 Seattle dogs, fries, and a pop. It was certainly more food than I expected. Everything was cooked perfectly. I'm glad I chose this place to experience my first Seattle dog. I can't imagine it being better anywhere else. 1/4 pound specialty dogs run around $6-$8 and there's plenty of other dog options. It's a Doghouse though so don't come here looking for burgers. I took lots of pictures and will post them all. I wish I could say I'll be back tomorrow. I certainly would if I could. My wife and I drove by on the way to the state park when we noticed this place. We were hungry on our way back and decided to stop by. When we got there we noticed the staff and people waiting for their food weren't wearing masks. There were no signs regarding social distancing and no markings on the floor to suggest spacing. We also noticed that all of the toppings for your hotdogs were out in the open for anyone to access. The tongs to use we're shared and would be used over and over again. When we got our dogs we needed to top them ourselves but seeing the state of the toppings we opted to pass. We started leaving and the employee (I think the owner) called out that we had forgotten another part of our meal. My wife went back in to grab the food and she heard the employee say under his breath that he didn't understand why people were so scared. At this point, I will never eat at this place again. It's none of his business why people are scared. He's not adhering to social distancing or increased cleanliness during a MASSIVE pandemic that has killed thousands upon thousands of people. That's why people are scared. If you run a restaurant in anyway, you're in the hospitality business, be hospitable. read more
