I was craving a hot dog at work for lunch so I opened up my Yelp app and this place popped up. It was super close and so I decided why not. I noticed some reviews said this place is hard to find. It's inside the Atrium building on the southwest corner. If you park in the front, walk in and go straight back until you reach the exit doors and make a left. It's at the end of the building with its own outside entrance. Or you can park in the back and just find it on the southwest corner. I walked in and wasn't expecting much but what I did notice was how clean the place was. I was greeted when I walked in and told it would be a few minutes. The menu is at the top of the wall on a big board and there are so many options to choose from. Hotdogs by default are a boars head all beef frankfurter or you can upgrade your dog to a 1/4lb Clifford size for an additional cost. They also have a vegetarian option, Seattle's Field Roast Veggie Frankfurter. So I thought that was great to see. I was kinda shocked by how affordable lunch was here. I ordered two hotdogs and a bag of pickles and my lunch was $12 and some change. I went with a Doberman because for me mustard and sauerkraut are a classic and must do. The hotdog had a nice bite. The bun freshly steamed so it was soft and delicious. And because I'm in Seattle they love a good hotdog with cream cheese, I also ordered the Husky. It had cream cheese, pickled jalapeños, and crunchy onions. When I first saw it, I was like damn that's a lot of crunchy onions but it ended up being the perfect balance for every bite. I'll definitely be back. Service was great and hotdogs were just what they should be. And with such a great affordable price, everyone should come here!

Finally got here after seeing them for over a month now. Let's just say they have hotdogs for everyone budget and size. So I ordered an ordinary hotdog and requested ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard and onions and pickle . All built with love & care. Standard 6'' bun with a nice paper holder and it was served hot and was delicious. Total without a drink $5.25 and so worth it. Yes I will be back. Pop is in cans in cooler with juice and other drinks available.

What an incredible spot! Needed a quick lunch and was right around the corner so I decided to pop in. This hole in the wall hot dog shop that was difficult to find but worth it in all its glory! I had the chili cheese dog with onions and the ghost pepper mustard, I suggest the ghost pepper mustard to anyone who can handle the spice! It worked great with the dog! I will be back!

the Yorkie $4 and the Akita $4

They serve hotdogs. They serve pretty good hotdogs. I tried the Yorkie $4 (NY style red onion sauce, sauerkraut and spicy mustard) and the Akita $4 (Mayo, tonkatsu sauce, shredded seaweed and pickled ginger) with a canned soda for $9.87 after taxes. The buns seem like your typical Franz brand buns, the beef frankfurter has a nice crunch to it. The Akita is different.. Didn't know what to expect but I'd definitely order it again. Apparently today was their grand opening. The service was quick. From the time I ordered and got my food, it was no more then 5mins.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

First time I saw this place, I thought it was odd. It's not that you never see a burger truck, but…read morethey are rare. So for what feels like a decade, I have passed this place coming out of the local AMC, as there is no other attraction in Kent I would stop for. Based on reviews, I decided to give the place a try, but again, I think this place has been here since at least 2015 and with under 40 reviews, it's clear they are not changing lives. In reading reviews. More than one person said the prices were high for a truck, but I did not expect burgers approaching $20. The burgers were grossly overpriced. Someone said they had twice the meet of most places, I doubt that, I'd be shocked if it was more than ¼ patty, the burgers were big, but also incredibly thin. I would have much rather had a burger twice as thick on half as much bun. I actually ended up tossing the lower bun and folding the burger back on itself. That was issue 1. Issue 2 was after a decent wait for free food, my fries were under-cooked, and I didn't get any fry sauce. There were bottles on the tables, but it was 50 degrees, so we weren't eating outside. I assumed there was a small cup in he container, but only ketchup. I had the guacamole burger and instead of thick, chunky, rich guacamole, I guess a tangy avocado sauce. It also had a strip, maybe two of bacon that was so thin, it added no flavor. I've had much better for a lot less and despite the women being as pleasant that can be, this was not worth the money and proved to be a massive waste of time as well, because we certainly passed at least 6 places that make a better burger for less. I can't recommend and won't be back. The food could have been 30% less and I still would have been let down. Unless this was a bad day, this was the worth burger meal I've had in my life. 100% overrated.

The disappointing bit was that the guacamole is the powder mix kind. His torta was tasty but he wasn't completely sold, although he said he might return for lunch one day. Over all a good find in a somewhat complicated intersection.

I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. The Service The real star of the morning was Debbie. She's essentially a one-woman show--running the bar, waiting tables, and serving everyone. She is absolutely awesome and keeps the place moving smoothly. It's rare to see that kind of hustle these days. The Verdict Don't let the "bar" label or the exterior scare you off.
