We selected this location for a 1 night spot on our long drive from Verde Ranch RV resort in Verde Ranch Arizona back into California.   This park is a giant park. When you check in, you'll see this giant chart on the wall behind the desk of all the spots. It appears to be quite organized. We only stayed one night, so our impressions are limited to that amount of time. Not fancy but seemed clean and well kept. And appears to be one of the nicer RV parks in that immediate area. There are some scary looking parks on that main drag. Here is what we loved: ---------------------------------------- Easy reservation and check in process. The park is easy to navigate to the front pull through spots Pet friendly Big rig friendly (we have a 43' foot toy hauler). Full hook up at the pedestal was A-OK. No problems there. Variety of back in, pull through and different sized spots. We had a pull through spot. Escort to our location Friendly folks nearby to help. (we had a bit of a 'hitch issue' so folks came running to help. We didn't use this but they have killer 'Snow bird' rates. It's like $700 bucks for the whole winter or something crazy like that. Definitely budget friendly. Here is what didn't work for us: ------------------------------------------------------- Not so sure about the COVID protocol here. The woman that checked me in was super nice and was not wearing a mask. Not a lot of folks in the park wearing masks either. Not a lot of trash cans around and even though its pet friendly, I didn't see any poopy bags or cans for that. There is no gas station nearby. About 17 miles away in Quartzsite. No restaurants or anything nearby. No obvious security (no gate/attendant or security patrol). Maybe not needed? It didn't feel unsafe, but by this point we'd been to other places where they had security. So just noting it here. This would be our 3rd RV park from our maiden voyage as full timers. As these places go, would be fine to pull through on the way somewhere. We didn't get around to all of the offerings but when I think of 'resort', I'm not sure this is what I'd think of. My sister in law inherited a coach in this RV park, and we've been bringing it back to life working on it over several months, and it came out great. This park is great it has a pool, jacuzzi, mini dog park, mini golf course, laundry room, community center etc... I've been there couple of times now and its very quiet and people are friendly. The RV park is close to Quartzite and about 30 to 45 min drive to Colorado river so nice. From what I've heard it's one of the best RV parks around, and there is a waiting list to get in. There are hiking trails all around so one can explore the area if your into hiking. I've been looking for a place to retire and I'm thinking Arizona might be the place to be only because California is too expensive to live on a fixed income. This last time I was there gasoline was very cheap under $2.00, market prices were affordable and during this pandemic shelves were full. So yes I am highly thinking Arizona is a nice place to retire especially if you don't mind the heat. read more

First time to stay here and we were very surprised on how nice it was. Grounds are perfectly kept and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They spent an hour with us to get the cable to work in the coach and it was something I was doing incorrectly. Hats off to the staff for that support. Pool and hot spa was great! Pool is only 4 ft deep but large and the spa was very large. But, cable TV could be better, no digital channels all analog (about 17 channels) and at night the we couldn't see the anything due to a very weak signal we ended up playing our DVD. One other area the need to work on is the WIFI I testing the speed after connecting and it was less than 1 mb download and lower in upload. Had to use Cellular to read emails. We would stay here again very quite both day and night. read more

Easy self check-in, huge park, clean, quite, it's better there a shade on the site. WIFI need to UPGRADE and getting better.

Great spot for a desert getaway. We arrived after the office was closed but our paperwork was waiting for us at check in. Very clean facility. Will definitely revisit for a longer stay. read more

The office staff are friendly and helpful in locating restaurants and places to go things to see. Lots of activities. The streets in this resort are paved, as opposed to all the other resorts in the area which are gravel. Clean laundry facilities. Clean restrooms. Beautiful pool and hot tub. There is a fully functional mail room so you don't have to go to the local post office to pick up your mail. There is propane on site and the staff will pick up your propane bottle and fill it and deliver it back to your site. We have seen FedEx and UPS deliver packages directly to people at their site. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a RV resort. read more

Was accustomed to G7 resorts and decided to stay one night on our journey to Apache Junction. Wished we could have stayed longer. Very pet friendly and nice sites! We used pool and hot tub fabulous! The desert doesn't get any better than this in my opinion. The showers were what you'd expect in a G7 resort. Plan on staying here a few days on our return trip to Oregon. read more

Over 500 RV and park model spaces. Reasonable rates, especially for seasonal residents. HOWEVER, the resort is basically in the Arizona outback and surrounded by BLM land. It is a haven for ATVs and side-by-side off road vehicles that have destroyed any chance for enjoying the native serenity and beautiful landscape. It seems almost one half of the 500+ spaces has a noisy, one cylinder motorcycle engine parked there. It's so bad, that we are looking for another place to spend the winter, and will never come here again. Peaceful desert beauty? NOT HERE Want to hike the many trails? Be ready to dive out of the way of the ATVs. read more

Desert Gold Rv Resort - RV Parks Near Me - Salome, Arizona

I have been visiting my Father at the Desert Gold RV resort for the last five years to celebrate Christmas in a family tradition with the potluck dinner and a gift exchange to follow, until this year. Desert Gold RV resort announced that NO outside visitors, including family members that do not live in the park, are welcome for the Christmas dinner and gift exchange. I have called the manager and confirmed that this is correct policy now. That is really sad. I hope they regret that decision and a lot of people boycott their selfish celebration. We will of course because we, not being residents are banned. Dad is invited to our Christmas celebration at our home where the true spirit of Christmas lives. Apparently the Grinch is now managing Desert Gold. read more
