I took my vehicle thru the drive thru like I always do, like I have been doing with all my current vehicles, for the past 12 years, never with any issues, ever, until today. There was a couple of cars in front of me. The guy that was getting serviced didn't look so happy. He snatched the paperwork right out of the employee's hand and sped off. I was thinking, "damn, he's pissed" So me and the next car up pull up and his car starts to get serviced. It's taking an unusually long time and I notice the employee discussing a longer than usual conversation to the driver with a few papers in his hand that they're discussing over. That driver didn't look happy, and he drove off. I'm thinking "wow" So I pull up and I roll down my window and give the employee a "howdy" and was advised to go ahead and turn off the vehicle. So I turned it off and exited. That's when I noticed a super strong smell of cannabis coming from inside the smog shack. So I stood back and let the guy do his work. He looked everything over and than started scanning. He then started my truck and then went started typing on his computer. I just stood there trying not to get a contact high. A few moments later, he turn towards me with four or five pages in his hand and says I didn't "pass" because he "can see wires behind my diagnostics plug". He says that he won't plug his plug in if it's been tampered with. I explained to him that it has never been "tampered" with and that's the manufacturer's wiring. (Note no wires are exposed). I also explained to him that my vehicle has been smogged at that location for twelve years and it was never a problem before. He said that "it's illegal to smog a vehicle that had the diagnostics plug tampered with". So I'm in shock, thinking someone was mucking around in my vehicle so I go take a look and see only manufacturing wiring. I explain that it's manufacturing wiring and he said "maybe the dealership did it". I told him that no one touched it and he still wouldn't plug in cause he "doesn't want to damage his computer." So I'm half way unsure of him and half way confused. He hands me all these papers and says "you still have to pay the $20" So I paid him and left. While on the road, I realize I want a second opinion and I still got to get it smogged. So I drive to the next smog place, and when I pull in I asked the employee if he has a diagnostics plug for my vehicle. He then looks at the plug and says "yep, no problem". So he runs the smog check and I "passed" right away. I paid the guy his fee and got my dmv certificate and left. Knowing now that I got ripped off and possibly so did the cars in front of me as well, really sucks. If this is the owner, you should be audited and shut down. If he wasn't the owner, he should be fired and jailed. I will NEVER bring my vehicles back to this place. It's the same price down the street. If I was swindled for more than $20 I would head back and make a point to let him know that we know he's a crook.

Then I found out the OEM fans are CAN-bus controlled... and honestly, I don't know jack about wiring. I called the shop basically begging for help, and they seriously saved me. First second-gen GR86 in Vegas with a turbo kit running aftermarket fans, and they took care of everything. Super professional, actually know how to work on cars, and took the time to figure it out properly instead of just throwing parts at it. They were also the only shop willing to even take on the job. My car is in pretty immaculate condition. It only has 32,000 miles on it he told me that if I wanted them to put it on a rack to look at it it would be $299. I didn't get the man's name but he kept going on about his shitty jeep Cherokee and how it has 200,000 miles on it and it looked like it I later found out his name was David. He is a white guy with glasses. I have worked in customer service for thirty years now. If this was my employee and I overheard the conversation we had he would be gone on the spot. This review should not reflect the overall garage. The other employee I spoke with was super nice. But this guy David was a complete prick.
