I took my 93 year old mom in for a tooth extraction. The entire staff was patient and caring. They worked with my mom's insurance. They were very careful checking the meds she was allergic to. I was referred here due to having had osteoporosis and needed particular care taken in having a tooth removed. I found the staff incredible helpful and professional as will as the dentist careful, professional and patient. At the end of my final visit I was presented with various options of what I may want or need. I found their prices were much more affordable then other places I had been but more importantly I really appreciate that they let me know of options, as opposed to being told what I must have for a large sum of money. I've been meaning to write this review for a while. Technically Dr Garcia did his job but if you're looking for bedside manner go elsewhere. I thought he was unpleasant. Especially when I chose a place other than what he suggested for my dentures. I live alone and I was having extensive surgery so I asked if I could get my prescriptions the day before. Seriously, the office staff acted as if I was asking for the nuclear codes. I had no one to drive me home so I would not be able to walk thru a pharmacy. The dodo at the desk actually told me to go to a drive thru pharmacy. They would not accommodate me. Eventually I found a home health aide who went with me and after the surgery he went into the pharmacy for me. I had my surgery mid February and no one has ever called to follow up. No one. Overall it was not a positive experience. read more

Dr Bass, Eloisa, Norma, and the entire staff are wonderful. I was told years ago that my frequently infected wisdom tooth needed to be removed but it was risky since there was a nerve wrapped around the root which could result in possible facial paralysis. Terrifying news for an already highly anxious patient! Even though I had Medicare HMO dental coverage (Dr Bass not in my network) I chose to pay 100% of the cost out of pocket to feel safe and to be in the best care possible. Based on the reviews here, and a recommendation by my previous dentist, I felt Dr. Bass was the best choice. My experience was 5 stars across the board from the very first phone call. The efficiency of the office staff was excellent. I was able to get in within 24 hours. A prescription for antibiotics was called in ahead to get immediate attention to the infection. I requested a 3D image which was probably not necessary but eased my mind. It confirmed what Dr Bass already knew but he was humble and kind in his validation. I was also terrified of being sedated since I react to just about every possible medication. He listened to my concerns and said "I'm going to take good care of you, I promise". And he did just that! I woke up from the surgery within what seemed like 5 minutes. Popped out of the chair. Gently guided out to my husband. Came home and rested a bit. And guess what?! Absolutely NO PAIN and NO SWELLING!! How did he do that??!! It's been over a week and I feel fantastic. The rotten tooth is gone forever! Honestly there are other surgeons in the desert who are much more experienced. I dont know what happened to Salomone but the guy who replaced him (Mr. Garcia) has been in the business like a year and it really shows in his consultations. Theres no reason to risk your health with this guy. He was trying to get me to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth out when I was referred for just the bottom 2. It ended with him yelling at me that he is the doctor (dentist but ok). He has a really short fuse which scares me in the medical field. Dont even get me started on his prices. He charges more than double what the guys with 20 years experience are charging. I'm assuming because he scares all his patients away? Please just go to a different surgeon. You could try to go with his partner but hes always booked so they push the leftovers onto this new guy. read more

I needed a wisdom tooth removed that was rather difficult--it was near a nerve and during consultation Dr. Bass thought he might be able to remove only part of it. A partial removal concerned me. Also, I'm a senior citizen and was very worried about the procedure. It turned out he was able to remove the entire tooth. I have had no unusual pain or discomfort afterward other than the usual. Had a tooth pulled and an implant was placed by Dr Garcia .The crown on the implant was placed at my dentist office after 3 months. Unfortunately its my impression the missing tooth for 3 months caused some issues. I now have TMJ and my expensive invisalign work from 7 years ago is messed up. I'm having jaw misalignment and no longer have a symmetrical tooth midline. My regular dentist did confirm this new issue. Dr Garcia did offer me an oral devise for TMJ an I agreed. I was supposed to pick it up 07/22/24. I received a call 7/16/24 that my appointment had been cancelled and that I would get a letter. After reviewing all text messages I couldn't find a confirmation requirement as of 07/17/24 today. I did call the office back today and confirmed my appointment for Monday 07/22/24 via voicemail. I later received several text messages regarding the TMJ guard pick up. The first message from today 07/17/24 states my appointment is still Monday 07/22/24. My second message after that states my appointment is now 07/23/24. Very poor communication and please read the implant fine print. I received a certified letter that states I'm fired as a patient. No TMJ bite guard for me. read more

Do not even try to get treatment from this office unless you are wealthy and white. My husband got tried to get treatment after a car accident, and due to misinformation from our vehicle insurance we had a very frustrating initial experience which ended with my husband not being seen. The dark haired receptionist was INCREDIBLY rude as soon as she found out we could not pay out of pocket that day. I mean, looking down her nose at my husband like he was filth from the sewers. The blonde receptionist was polite, and offered a list of surgeons covered by our health insurance, which was very appreciated. But we were told Dr. Bass is the best, so after we could afford to pay out of pocket my husband decided he wanted to go back. Today he was told he would not be treated because we were "extremely rude" to the receptionist (called her out for being rude to us for not having cash in hand) and basically, too poor to receive treatment (we couldn't afford the payment out of pocket last time so OBVIOUSLY we're too poor to ever see them). Horrible, horrible experience that left my already hurting husband feeling utterly humiliated. read more

No one answered the phone or they picked up and put me on hold so long I hung up or their answering service answered and said to keep trying they are in the office and refused to take a message. Fantastic experience overall...My mother called me to explain how she was having a painful toothache. Expecting she probably needed an extraction, I called Desert Oral Surgery. The receptionist Norma was extremely helpful and squeezed my mom into an already full schedule. Upon arrival, my mom's temperature was checked as a COVID-19 precaution. After 10 years of wearing a flipper to hide a missing tooth, I finally decided to get an implant. I wasn't sure what to expect but Dr. Bass talked me through the steps so I wouldn't get caught off guard. I had to go back for a handful of sessions for a bone graph, implant, and placement of the new tooth. Dental work has always been scary but with Dr. Bass, I never felt and pain or discomfort during the process. After some serious work, he did sent me home with some medicine for pain but was really surprised that I never needed them. The implant looks great and I even get compliments on it when I get cleanings at other dental offices. 5 Stars! read more

I ever had the displeasure of going there, but I made in appointment for an emergency to have a tooth removed. I got the appointment with no problem. Then they called me to cancel the appointment. She said the doctor has to leave early, so we need to cancel the appointment. I said when does he have to leave. She said around noon. I said no problem then my appointment is a 8:45am. she said it is not. I said yes it is. It does not matter, we will reschedule you for a week away. I said I can not wait a week I am in a lot of pain. She said that is all I can do. I said that will not work, then she put me on hold for another call. I hung up. About 10 minutes later she called back, and tried to again make a new appointment a week away. I said why was my appointment canceled you never gave me a reason, because the doctor is still going to be there during my appointment. Then she said, I gave your appointment to another person for and emergency. I said you gave away my emergency appointment to another emergency that is not right. I just hung up. Every person should be treated the same at a doctors office. She picked some else's emergency and said it was more important then mine. With out even asking me what my emergency was, and would leave me in pain for over a week to put some else first. Go there at your own risk, because they may put some else before you and your needs that they think is more important then you are. I would never trust any DOCTOR that does that!! Both my father and I have had surgery here, and both experiences have been exceptional. 4 impacted wisdom teeth out of me from Dr. Bass and full topside implants done to my father by Dr. Garcia. Multiple dentists and experts have viewed the results from both of us and confirm the quality of the work. My extraction went flawlessly and exceeded all expectations. Now, I cannot be happier with the way we have been taken care of by Dr. Garcia and his staff for my father. Nothing is overlooked including and especially, my concerns. Now yes, we also almost walked out in the beginning due to staff and wait time. I'm glad we stayed. They focus on the people they are dealing with at that moment. I ask myself now...would I rather wait my turn and also be given extended time with the Dr. or, be served quickly just to be moved on maybe prematurely? When I went in this time, the office staff was gone and there was a new doctor. The new doctor, Dr Garcia (?) was super rude and impatient. Not only were they able to get us in very quickly, they could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Went for a simple procedure had it done doctor was decent. However office staff are dishonest and not clear on how to send bill to insurance carrier. This resulted in me paying for the entire cost of the procedure when I was covered by my health plan. I had multiple calls to the office. Finally a person called from my health plan and asked if they could bill with proper codes. The insurance rep called me and said that the staff refused to and where rude. I recently called and spoke with cindy office manager . She was no help and lied to me. Doctors can be ok but with an office staff like this crew it can make patients stay away. read more

Dr. Bass is an excellent surgeon and has a very calming disposition. I had to have a molar pulled and an implant inserted, a year-long process. Throughout the process Dr. Bass and his staff were highly accommodating to my needs. I was very nervous and they were highly responsive and pleasant every single time. While visiting I broke a molar and had to have it removed. Dr Bass said he would put me to sleep and pull the tooth. Now I've had 3 molars pulled for various reasons over the past 40 months and my dentist has never asked to put me to sleep so I asked Dr Bass that I stay awake and he said that would be fine. He did talk to me a bit through the procedure telling me what was going to happen but this was the absolute roughest tooth extraction I've been through. After the procedure I was in so much pain and now a week later I'm still taking pain medication, my cheek and neck were swollen for 2.5 days and as I said the whole side of my head top to bottom is still in constant pain all day long. If I didn't have this procedure done in the past I may have thought this is normal but in the past 3 other times I did not need pain medication after the procedure and there was no swelling at all, ever. I think that because he puts his patients to sleep he (and the guy holding my jaw in place) can just get it done as fast as possible to get onto the next one. I would never refer anyone to this dentist. read more
