I saw Dr Zbarsky and he derided my jaw. The necrosis got worse and he needed to extract an implant and a molar. They don't take Medicare do I begrudgingly agreed to pay $800.00 for the extraction the following Thursday. On Tuesday they called me and said Dr zbarsky was no longer with the practice and the doctor Shearer could do the operation for $2500. I do not have $2500 to spend. They don't take Medicare so, if you have Medicare, I recommend you find a different doctor. read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Peter Scheer and my experience with him and his staff... his knowledge, expertise, and demeanor is evident after just barely meeting him upon having my first visit and consultation..after determining that my molar that was giving me trouble would need to be extracted the procedure was done quickly and efficiently the next morning. Dr. Scheer has a true concern for his clients, he took the time to give me a call later on in the evening to be sure that I was doing OK after the extraction of my molar. I long ago wrote a laudatory review of Dr. Peter Scheer, DDS , MS, but this is an updated review, as of 2023. The adjectives to describe Dr. Scheer's skill set, personality, compassion & kindness would entail a very long list of positive adjectives. .If you read other reviews below, that also show their reverence for this fine doctor/person, know that I second all that they say, extolling his virtues & validating his expertise. I recently needed extractions, a mega amount of work. No one doesn't have "angst" about visiting the DDS, but with Dr. Scheer, you lose all trepidation when you see how skilled, kind, compassionate, warm, humorous, and caring he is. He is beyond awesome because he took me out of a very painful situation with minimal discomfort & excellent healing results. I am indebted to him, & only wish my other doctors could be as supportive & progressive. If you need any dental care or maxillofacial surgery, RUN do NOT walk, to make an appointment , as you will see that all the positive reviews on this site about him are valid, Also, Dr. Scheer's support staff is composed of a wonderful team of professionals, who are the ultimate in efficiency & graciousness. I had a "blister" in my mouth and saw 4 dentist/doctors about that. I was told it is a cyst, then I was told it is possibly cancer, then I was told it is a mucus sack and finally I came to see Dr Sheer - he said it was a varicose vein. He surgically removed it and indeed, that is what it was. This doctor truly knows what he is doing! From making the first appointment over the phone, the staff being very courteous and professional. I loved email and text reminders of my appointment. Then the atmosphere in the doctor's office was warm and inviting and of course, perfectly clean. Everyone there was so sweet! Dr. Scheers touched my shoulder and smiled - it was a gesture that helped me relaxed. He examined the 'blister' and told me it actually is a varicose vein. We made and appointment to remove it. I did not feel any pain. He said there may be some bleeding - but there was not. Dr. Scheer called me in the evening, making sure that I am feeling OK. I was so impressed with that!! Then he called me again a couple of days later to let me know that it came back from pathology, and that itis benign, like he told me it would be. He is one of those rare Doctors who actually truly care! He pulled the stiches on my follow up appointment. All in all, I went there being scared, but Dr. Scheer and his entire staff made me feel at ease every step of the way. I would recommend this brilliant team to anyone!! read more

Went to our regular dentist today for a tooth extraction. Part way through the procedure it was evident that more was needed to be done to remove the tooth. He sent us to Dr. Peter Scheer in Palm Springs. Dr. Scheer specializes in oral surgery. Their office took us in right away and took care of my issue. What a great experience! Very pleasant setting. Dr. Scheer was wonderful and very thorough. His office staff and assistants were very knowledgeable and capable. Everyone, there, made sure that I had all the after care information I needed to take care of my mouth and jaw. Highly recommend using him for any oral surgery needed. read more

Excellent Doctor and the crew administering the Anesthesia were very professional. I had an initial consultation with a full scan around my head to see in great detail what type of decay I had with the few molars left. I did my research on Dr. Sheer and his experience and training. I had a horrible experience many years ago with a Dentist and not extensively trained as oral surgeon for an upper extraction which left me with a sinus socket connection. As a professional recording artist, this affected me vocally due to a vibrating resonance reverb that made my nose secrete more fluid. So, you see, why it is important to do research and I chose Dr. Sheer. He works with Eisenhower on emergency trauma situations. Dr. Sheer has a great smile , nice teeth and it was nice to see him smiling when I opened my eyes after the surgery. It seemed that I was under the general anesthesia for a couple of minutes with no pain. Though later on, it was sore and Tylenol fast acting worked for me for about two days or so? read more

We cannot say enough good about Dr. Scheer and his staff. Our experience has been so incredible with this wonderful doctor and his staff, that we know we will never experience anything like it again while on this earth. From the moment we stepped inside the door, we were greeted warmly and professionally and we felt very welcomed. The waiting room itself was like a beautiful art museum ordained with unique, beautiful artwork, and live gorgeous orchids that seemed to be very happy there. We felt a tremendous amount of peace just in the waiting room itself and that's because the two at the front desk are so caring and polite and helpful. Then we met Dr. Scheer and his assistant and both are on top of their game in such a way that you just know that you are going to be in the best of hands and that they can handle anything that comes their way as they are confident, caring, trustworthy, kind, generous, professional, humorous, and attentive. My husband went in with a very serious problem and our dentist was wise to send us here as Dr. Scheer very skillfully and very articulately took care of it in no time and everything is going well as he and his staff made certain that we knew how to administer after care properly before we left. Hearing that my daughter needed double jaw surgery was one of the scariest things I had to face as a parent. The preparation process was long but knowing that Dr. Scheer would be doing the surgery gave me peace of mind. He is an amazing doctor - professional, confident, kind, charming, and extremely knowledgeable. He listens and is always reassuring. He made my daughter feel special and always listened to her feelings. His entire staff is absolutely amazing...the wonderful ladies in the office are so kind and welcoming and the surgical assistants are equally impressive.
