I received quotes for work to be done on 2 properties. Not a huge job ($3000) but a solid variety of tasks that allowed me to see if this is an experienced company that can do the jobs well and reliably (installing ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, weather-stripping exterior doors, tightening a few loose toilets). They said that it would take 4 days to complete our job. So I waited 3 weeks until they could scheduled us in. At the end of the 4 days, this was what was completed: 1 ceiling fan installed in a bedroom. Nothing else. 4 days to install a ceiling fan? The injury to insult was the total lack of communication from the office. Not one single email, text or phone call after I left multiple messages as to what the status of our job was. We had tenants moving in the following week so I sent an detailed email to cancel and explained what went so terribly wrong with this job. No reply. Just an invoice for the 1 ceiling fan. I found a different handyman who singlehandedly completed the entire scope of work in 2 days! without complaint or fanfare and $840 cheaper. He is now my go-to guy for all my repairs and remodeling jobs.

Upon having our master shower remediated for mold through our home insurance policy, we were on the hunt for a company that could reconstruct the shower. I submitted a request through Yelp, and Global Prevention Services responded and got me scheduled for a consultation immediately. Shortly after this consultation, the Global Prevention Services Project Coordinator, Kimberly, put together several service estimates for me, as we weren't yet sure the direction we wanted to go with the shower tile. Kimberly was patient with us as we picked out materials and went back and forth on what we wanted to do! Due to our mold experience, we ultimately decided we wanted to limit the amount of grout in the shower, in hopes of minimizing the chances of it failing. With that, we started the reconstruction! Throughout the whole process, Kimberly and Rudy, the project manager, were incredibly thorough, communicative, and overall, just really helpful. BIG MISTAKE! He was unprofessional, unreliable, dishonest, and unable to complete our tasks. He called in other contractors he knew to complete the work and we were then charged twice. The electrician alone was $350 just to show up and did nothing because Brandon was unavailable at his Chiropractor appointment so the Electrician left. He also hired a stucco repair contractor which was another $250. The repairs he completed were poorly done. We had to pay for his "services" and then we had to hire other contractors to get the jobs completed correctly to sell our home. He only worked a few hours and charged us $940.
