My pregnancy was a surprise and a miracle as I had been told by numerous doctors that I would never be able to have children due to an extensive history of endometriosis and other medical issues. I was referred to Desert Perinatal Associates by my primary care physician and was immediately blown away by their customer service, organization, efficiency and compassion. I've been a nurse for nearly 16 years and I can honestly say that from both a nursing and a patient standpoint, DPA has one of the best run offices I've ever seen. Dr. Adashek is not only knowledgeable and competent, he is compassionate and empathetic and always willing to take the time to answer questions or address concerns. During the spinal I received prior to my c-section, I began to have a panic attack. Dr. Adashek stood next to me and rubbed my back and talked with me soothingly to help get me through. It is clear that every single person in the office really loves what they do and it has been an absolute pleasure to be one of their patients. I saw Dr. Bohman for my most recent pregnancy as I'm high risk for AMA. He is such a kind and funny man and always made me feel completely at ease. The entire staff is amazing from the front desk to the nurses to the sonographers. Appointments were pretty timely. The day of my delivery, some emergencies came up that caused my scheduled c section to run a little late. Dr. Bohman was so apologetic even though he really did prioritize his emergency births correctly. He did an amazing job and made the c section a really good experience for my whole family. I would have preferred to leave 0 stars. The check-in process was fine, the wait wasn't long. The trouble started for me with the ultrasound tech at my 20 week anatomy scan. The tech and some type of CNA came in to start to scan and go through a questionnaire. Both of these things are happening simultaneously. I would like to add that when they came in the room, they knocked and open the door at the same time, and I did not have the sheet on top of me yet as I told the girl previously, I had to go to the bathroom before I could un dress. I asked for an extra couple of minutes. So the visit starts out with me being mortified, I barely have a sheet on as people are entering the room. This may not be a big deal to most. This is my first child, I've had a history of miscarriages, and a history of sexual abuse. I am the last person that wanted to feel uncomfortable with my pants off. I'm 35 years old, I'm no stranger to OB visits. Generally, there is a small pause after the knock. A pause of consideration for someone to respond. None of that. I don't think this information is pertinent to know, but in this review, it might be. I am also a doctor, and I am in the field, where I believe, bedside manner and attitude, and how you treat patient matter more than the length of time of the visit and the co-pay. My husband has a PhD in mechanical engineering. There are two very well educated people sitting in this room. Neither of us have ever been talked to like we were so stupid in our lives. The ultrasound tech was rude, if she spoke at all. Most of the time she was very quiet as my poor anxious husband sat in the corner, trying to make jokes to keep me from killing anybody. I asked if they had 3-D imaging to see the structures of the face. The tech told me that they do not do it for entertainment purposes. I didn't say anything further, because I was afraid my head would actually explode, but I asked about the imaging to ensure she did not have a cleft palate or a cleft lip . I was not looking for entertainment, I'm at a high-risk doctors office to ensure my baby is healthy. I'm aware this is an a mall Kiosk. Again, there was just no consideration of who the patient was, nothing was tailored towards care for me. Specifically, I was just patient at one in the afternoon. I felt like I was just a number in a Medicaid mill. Then the doctor came in, I had a couple questions and asked for her recommendation. My questions were about joint pain, and swelling. Very common things during pregnancy, to which I do not take any drugs or any medication. I was looking for recommendations that they may give pregnant women commonly, which I would hope is not drugs or medication. instead, I was told to take over-the-counter pain, relievers, and told I may have an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. I assure you, in my first year of professional school, When I thought I had every disease I had ever studied, I was tested for everything under the sun . She asked me no follow up questions, no questions to investigate what was going on with me personally, she just tossed out a comment of, I may have an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder, and I should take ibuprofen. Which, while is safe during the second trimester, is contra indicated in the first and third trimesters. And did I mention, I was looking for a non-drug recommendation? I was appalled that this is the care that I received. As a doctor myself, it was a reminder to me to spend the extra couple minutes to talk to my patient, find out what is actually important to them, and find out what their needs and concerns actually are. I get so frustrated with the general public when they don't take doctors advice, we spend all this time to study the human body and then our recommendations are tossed out the window. Well today I see why. It was because of people like the doctor that I saw today, at the office that I went to. I'm glad everything for myself came back normal so that I don't have to go back there again. read more

I cannot say enough great things about my experience here! The staff is amazing from the front office, to the nurses, to the physicians. I was blessed enough to have Dr. Adashek and he was amazing. He answered all of my questions and more as a first time mom. He always took the time for us, and I never felt rushed. He is so personable, funny, but most importantly gives you his honest opinion. Gave me conflicting information on insurance and ended up calling me to cancel my appointment and tell me they wouldn't take me as a patient anymore without a referral when I was on my way there. I'd been looking forward to an ultrasound since I found out I was pregnant and making sure baby is healthy since I've had two miscarriages in the last year and am a high risk patient. If I could give 10 stars I would! Dr. Bohman has taken care of me through two pregnancies now, and I couldn't be happier with the care that I have received. First of all, all of the staff is top notch! They are so welcoming, and truly make you feel cared for. Dr. Bohman is extremely knowledgeable, has a great way of making you feel calm, and takes time to hear your concerns and explain everything to you. He even went the extra lengths to help diagnose my second daughter after she was born with life threateningly low platelets. Turns out my husband and I have a platelet incompatibility, causing Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT). The pediatricians that were treating my daughter didn't even think to test for this, but Dr. Bohman went the extra mile. Without this diagnosis, if I decided to have another child, it could cause brain bleeds, or death of the baby without treatment. I never would have known this had I been seeing another doctor. Thank you so much to the staff, and of course to Dr. Bohman for bringing my two beautiful daughters safely into this world, and for giving me the knowledge and hope for treatment to save my future children if my husband and I decide to have another! read more

Recent UTI episode. I was in pain and left work an a rush to make it before office will be closed at 4pm. I was told I will get a call in two days right before the weekend with the results. It was my first UTI and I had no idea what to do. Besides outdated advice about the sugary cranberry juice from nurse i got no support . I left frustrated and almost in tears. Thanks for my friend who told me about AZO product I was able to survive next few days. Since office never called me I called them back to ask about my results. Well turns out they never send it to the lab. How awesome ! read more

I went to see Dr. Bohman after I had recently moved to Las Vegas. I was under his care for the last eight months of my pregnancy. I loved his office and staff. Everyone was very knowledgeable and worked their hardest to help me. The front desk was always on top of my insurance information and always informed me when I needed to call my insurance and battle it out over a claim or something. Dr. Bohman was really the best. He worked with me and made sure all my questions were answered. Both my husband and I loved him, during my delivery he assured me that everything was fine and kept me calm during the whole process. He was really hard working and even my post op check was thorough. It wasn't just a "okay you are healthy" check up, it was a "let me make sure there is nothing more I can help you" with kind of attitude that made the difference for me. read more

What an amazing office and I literally have no words for how great of a specialist is Dr. Bohman!! I had high risk pregnancy and Dr Bohman was my main obgyn and he made me feel at ease and positive these 9 months every single time I saw him. I also loved the office staff who are so attentive, always accurate and polite. I only had to wait more than 10-15 mins twice - and that was due to emergencies that Dr Bohman had to attend. He even came to check on me every single day I stayed at the hospital after giving birth, during my first stages of labor he was constantly checking on me and even calling me directly. I really felt as if I was the only patient he had throughout all 9 months and delivery!!! This office is outstanding and if I ever get pregnant again - Dr Bohman will definitely be the only doctor I'd be comfortable to trust both mine and my baby's life!!! My pregnancy and delivery with Dr. Wilkes is what every soon to be parent could want. Every appointment, the staff at DPA and Dr. Wilkes always made us feel so important and also tremendously safe leaving our unborn child in his hands. He was ALWAYS available and incredibly informative, we looked forward to every visit and talking to Dr. Wilkes with his charismatic personality . Towards the end of our pregnancy we had low amniotic fluid and they were so attentive and on top of monitoring and making sure it didn't pose any real danger. We went full term and unfortunately my cervix would not dilate so we had to have a c section. I still get emotional thinking about how comfortable and reassuring Dr. Wilkes made us feel in such a scary time for our family. I could never imagine having another baby without Dr. Wilkes by our side. Terrible wait ask us to come 15 mins prior to appointment. Ended up waiting 1hr 30mins before even being seen. Once in the appointment lasted 45mins. So this went from a exciting moment for our family to a long drawn out process with a aggravated 2 year old. Will not be coming again and will spread the word. read more

Paid a steep copayment to wait in in the waiting room for 2 hours (with 2 toddlers ) and then see the dr for less than 3 mins. The front desk staff and ultrasound technicians were great but dr bohman I would never recommend. I went in for a routine 2nd trimester ultrasound and expected that... an ultrasound and results. The doctor walked in the room and the first thing he said he wanted me to get an echo done same day and when I refused I was then not awarded the time it took to actually let me know how my ultrasound looked. Not even a vague look over. If I hadn't asked the technician questions during the ultrasound I would be walking away with no details whatsoever. Wether i was just not ready for an extra scan that day or wether i didnt want it at all should have no sway on properly and professionally finishing up a paid visit. Today was my first OB visit. I saw Dr. Keifer and got an amazing first impression. His bed side manner really makes me believe that he truly loves what he does and that he cares for my pregnancy as much as i do. It feels like we're in this together. The office is clean and everyone i met (check in, the back office staff, ultrasound tech, the nurse's, lab tech and check out) was so friendly and pleasant. My first daughter was born at John Hopkins and we had to move here due to my husband's job. I wanted to find the same level of quality and care here in Nevada. After a lot of research and speaking with moms in my area, I ended up here! Love the staff and I love Dr. Bohman. He's also the chief of OB department at St. Rose, so he definitely is an expert. Dr. Bohman takes his time during my appointments, answers all my questions, and explains everything to me and even gave me tips. He knew what he was doing even when my pregnancy became complicated. He made labor enjoyable and I didn't have to worry about anything during my pregnancy and during my labor. They also have someone on-call who you can reach via phone if you need advice or assistance outside of office hours. I recommend DPA to all my friends and family! read more

I was under the care of Dr.Bohman and he was wonderful. The first thing he said when he saw me is that baby and my safety is his biggest priority, which was extremely reassuring and put us greatly at ease. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience here so far. I've always had a great obgyn so when I found out I was pregnant, I didn't think I would have to worry about a doctor. To make a long story short, my obgyn I loved just wasn't the right choice for this pregnancy. I searched high and low for a good place and got recommended Desert Perinatal. From the instant I first called I felt like the staff has gone above and beyond. I instantly feel at ease under their care- something I did not feel before. Dr. Roberts was such a pleasure to be around. He took his time and thoroughly answered all of my questions. He assured me that we were in this together and I could tell that right away that he just wants the pregnant mom to be comfortable. I LOVED that. Despite my liver condition all my children were born healthy. He always took the best care of me and he has always made me feel comfortable. I would recommend him to my closest family and friends! Due to some health complications, I was referred to Dr. Bohman as my total OB early in my first pregnancy. The level of care you receive at this office is astounding. The nurses are compassionate and lively, and, while I only ever saw Dr. Bohman for my weeklies, there were a couple of times where I had to call the nurses line and was redirected to one of the doctors and received he same high level of care. All of my concerns were listened to and addressed during my appointments, and so much time and effort was put into each of my visits. It also helps that everyone there has a good sense of humor when you have to lay on a table with gel on your belly (which is warmed, by the way, and I can't say that for all offices!). These people truly care about you and your baby. Sometimes the wait times were long, sometimes they were normal, sometimes there was no wait at all. Everything depends on the day; if you aren't a regular in their office and you happen to catch a day with a longer wait, be assured that it's not always like that. If there's a wait, there's a reason. It's because each of the other patients there that day are getting the same level of care that you want, and at a perinatologist office, things are going to come up. They take their time, and you'll be given the same benefit - not just some doctor who is in and out in a flash. The rooms are big, clean, well-decorated, and the lights are dimmed nicely, which plays in well with the environment. I loved this office so much that I was actually excited to come back for my second pregnancy...and will be back for my next one! read more

My wife and I first went to DPA during one of the most difficult times in our lives, and Dr. Kiefer met us with compassion, skill, and kindness. He has really been a saving grace for us and has given my wife and I the care and guidance we needed to make what felt like impossible decisions about my wife's pregnancy. We have continued to see Dr. Kiefer for regular visits throughout the pregnancy and would highly recommend him. He has made the difference for us between being constantly scared and sad about our pregnancy early on, to now finally being able to find the light and feel confident and happy about my wife's and our twins' health. We are moving out of the area and it may sound silly but one of the hardest parts of leaving Vegas is not being able to continue seeing Dr. Kiefer for my wife's prenatal care. He took time during every appointment to answer all of our questions, was patient with us and never rushed us, and was always thorough during exams and procedures. The office staff has been excellent and Dr. Kiefer and the DPA staff have always made an effort to be available to us any time we needed.
