It is wonderful to see this group has sustained for so long and many people rave about it. I even had a client in Los Angeles visiting from AZ tell me he had heard great things about this company, albeit not experienced it before. The show we saw was hosted at Maggiano's Italian Restaurant. The food is in alignment with the restaurant; oversized portions served family style with a limited set menu. That being said, they were able to accommodate my vegan husband and other guests at my table that are gluten free. The theater production takes place before and during your dinner in one of the private rooms at the restaurant. Everyone gets a character name tag so be prepared to be pulled up to participate. It's all a part of the fun. The room hosted about 20 diners/attendees making it an intimate experience. Perfect for all ages and laughs were shared all around. I highly recommend to any local or out of towner to spice up your dinner with this lively and colorful experience.

The appetizer (bacon wrapped dates) only came with two small ones, and the fig app was even smaller they looked the size of peanut size m&m's. The main dishes were also not great, the skewers were lacking in flavor and the polenta had a weird texture. The tri tip just came out without any ask to cooking temp and was overcooked (well done). The dessert was probably the best tasting of the meal and it was nothing to write home about. Overall I would go out for the murder mystery but maybe hold out for a better menu.

Compared to other theaters in town, part of what makes ABT different is that you have the option to do the show only or to do dinner and a show. If you do the latter option, you arrive earlier. I've done show only both times but I like that you have the option here. Before or during admission, you can stop by the lobby and pick up a themed cocktail or other beverage. Always a nice touch. The venue is clean, the seats are comfortable, and the performances have been quality. I most recently saw a performance of CATS. Already looking forward to my next performance!

Meanwhile, a cast member was moving between the tables and interacting very loudly with the audience. We understand that audience participation may be part of the experience, but after the long wait and disappointing meal, it only added to our frustration. By that point, my husband was understandably unhappy, and it was clear that the special evening we had planned was not going to be enjoyable. We therefore made the difficult decision to leave before the show began. We spent a significant amount of money within our limited entertainment budget and chose this event specifically to celebrate an important milestone birthday. We were deeply disappointed that an evening we had anticipated for six months turned out this way.

No head obstructs your view which is great for us shorter people. We were served drinks first, then bread and soup, next up was 1/2 a chicken that was moist and flavorful. Next came the corn and potato wedge that were also nicely flavored. Lastly was dessert and because we upgraded we got a second dessert of cake. If you are a light eater, they will give you a to go box. There is a wipe for your hands before you dig in eating with your hands and then a hot towel is brought after dinner. I can't imagine being on the thicker side or even an elder managing to get out and maneuver around seated patrons to go to the restroom and what not. In Arizona businesses overcompensate during the summer and you'll find you wear your jacket more in the summer months inside than during the winter. Parking is free- just make sure you take your ticket with you and they'll scan it. We will definitely be back- yes, drinks are overpriced and tickets were reasonable. As for the show- not bad. As I do think they extent a diverse roster of comedians. The last time that we attended, we actually ordered some food. And I really enjoyed the wings. I thought they did a really good job on the buffalo wings and the sauce was very tangy and the wings were fried hard as requested. This was the same food both times we went, so I'm not sure if they ever change it, I wish they did for a change. The pulled pork and cheese ravioli were good, but I wasn't a fan of the other dishes. The chicken Parmesan was probably the worst I've had as it wasn't at all what I expected from a traditional chicken parm. Dessert is a slice of chocolate cake that's already at your table when you arrive. I did think it was a nice touch that they pass out foil before the show ends so you can take it home and not waste it. The recommended tip listed on a sign at the table is $5 per person, so in addition to your ticket price, expect to pay at least that much extra. Drinks are also not included, so that's another added cost. Overall, this is a great experience, more so for 50+ and would make a fun gift, especially for a couple looking to do something different. I wish they had a family friendly show where it encouraged families with kids as I could see my kids who love music at 2 and 4 enjoying the show and dancing! Food does take a little while to come out, so please be kind and patient. They're working very hard. I would love to see some additional options added to the menu. I have to share, tonight was different than most. I'm blown away by the professionalism and skill of the caliber of comedians they bring. Josh Adam Myers and his crew handled a very difficult table up front with grace and playfulness in a way that was next-level -- this group was very obviously uncomfortable with the edgier humor and seemed completely unaware of how their energy was affecting others in the room, let alone the comedians braving the stage and simply wanting to make people happy. Josh managed to turn what could have dampened the evening into an inspiring interplay with the audience--remarkable in how he kept the energy positive. It's a reminder that the way we carry ourselves can either uplift or dim the atmosphere around us.
